Super friendly owner”
The owner is super friendly and helpfull, the room is clean, there’s washing machine and dryer, the breakfast is simple and not a a buffet just a noodle, 3-4 kind of fruit and toast bread with a little bit of vegetable but they prepare the food by them self, really appreciate their kindness and thoughtfull

No external windows. A/C control was broken. Bathroom vented into the bedroom so if you take a shower the whole place gets steamy. Really threadbare towels too. Otherwise fine.

A bearable 1 night stay. Room interior is run down and outdated. Soft pillow and soft mattress. Strains of hair on the mattress still. Eeww.... Fair breakfast; served by plate per pax. Human service is good.

A great location.. But that's all. The rest of the room is quite.... We went in the low season when most of rooms are actually empty and we still got a room with strict limited facility and no window. Oh did we booked the cheapest room? Nope. the price we paid through agoda is higher than the price listed in the hotel itself.

The state of maintenance is awful, bathroom is dirty, mouldy and paint on the door are stripping. Bedroom the quilt stained badly. Stayed here two nights, only ate the breakfast in the first morning, decide not eat the breakfast on the second morning only drank a coffee which was decent.

Pleasant Stay”
Located at Shui She Pier - Tan Hui is easily accessible as it is near the bus station, amenities and also the ferries. We booked two Superior Quad rooms and these were huge, comfortable and nicely furnished. The hotel owners and their staff were friendly, attentive and were very helpful throughout our stay here. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the Sun Moon Lake area.

Excellent location, value for $, nice modern decor”
tan hui hotel seems to be very new and tastefully furnished. when we checked in we were told we were in the basement (which i initially wanted to protest) but the staff helped to carry our bags and led us to the room and we were very pleased! our room had some mirror motifs at the headrest, beautiful light decor and they placed teddy bears on the beds. i find that a very nice touch.the bathroom was spacious and we were each provided with a very nicely packaged toiletries kit. it is very clean and wifi is also available. location is excellent,10min walking distance from shueishe visitor centre, 3min walking to the main pier for a nice riverside walk (and gawk at the hotels that get the view of the lake but pay the sky for it. but u stay across the street from them and save lots of $). wake up early to catch the sunrise at hanbi lakeside trail, a 5min walk from the hotel, and you can see lalu island and enjoy the scenery before the big tour groups arrive. enjoy!

Great Location”
The Tan Hui Hotel was certainly smaller than I expected, but that did not take away from it's charm. It is clean, and the 2 women and 1 man that run it (a family?) were so helpful and kind. The youngest woman (the daughter?) speaks a little bit of English, although it wasn't really necessary for our stay. The bed was clean and made up every day, and the jacuzzi tub was a treat. It is located less than a 5 minute walk from the bus drop off station, the Shuishe Visitors Center. There were many delicious places to eat, and vendors to shop from. The breakfast in the morning was good, although I wish I had gotten bacon on my second day, like I did on my first.

Good location and stylish room design”
Well if you worry about the room, I could tell you that you are free from that. They actually have two tower blocks in which the behind block is almost ready under renovation with every room that is specially design for particular theme and comes with jacuzzi(will be slightly more expensive). The location is not a worry as well because it is located at the centre part where most hotel is located. Wifi is provided as well and I love their western style breakfast. However, if you are to book a room facing the sun moon lake, then look for the others where actually the others are just beside or opposite to this hotel but more expensive.

Great value for budgeted traveler”
The hotel itself is nothing luxury. Don't hold your expectation for check-in a five star hotel because it is not and it doesn't charge you like one too. The hotel's owner is a family, I wouldn't say they are in particularly enthusiastic but friendly enough to make you feel comfortable about your staying. The room is quite neat and clean to live in and sleep in, that's the whole point you should be asking for from a place you stay, right? Not much of view from the room but you don't really need it, because step out! that's why you're there at Sun Moon Lake! So many trails around. The breakfast is not something so tasty that will drag you out of bed, but it is decent enough to feed yourself. If you are not happy with it, a few steps away there are many choices from the streets. Feel free to ask the staff to prepare something different for you, we asked them to replace the ham/ hot dog (really not tasty) with potato and you can also ask them for simply bring you more eggs for example. They are friendly enough to try their best to satisfy your every demand. I strongly recommend this hotel. Set your expectation right, then I'm sure you'll find it a nice choice of staying.

Second stay and not disappointed!”
This was my second stay at Tan Hui and I was happy to have chosen this hotel again. The owners are very friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable, the rooms are well decorated and spacy enough and the hotel is just a very short walk from the lake and the Shuishe pier.

It was a great stay, The location near a bus stop and right across the pier We booked 2 family rooms and got spacious rooms with lovely decoration. The beds was super soft and the bathroom was clean. The owner so kind and very helpful even they can't speak english fluently, they help us to get cheap ticket to ride a boat for island hopping. The breakfast was simple and tasty. I would highly recommend this hotel if you visit sun moon lake.

The hotel is located right in front of the Sun Moon Lake, just across the street. It's small hotel with 5th floor and 1 restaurant. Breakfast is okay (bread, sausage, fried egg, sliced fruits, juice and tea). The bed is comfy, there's also private bathroom and toilet. No natural light in the room because there's no window in the room that we booked.

Good Place to Stay!”
I recommend this place especially for those travelling to Tataka, Shang Dong Pu where they will spend their day before hiking Mt. Yushan (Mt. Jade). This place in Sun Moon Lake is less than 5 minutes walk from Shueishe Visitor Center where bus going to Alishan is waiting. The room is complete with shampoo conditioner and body wash. Also there are dental supplies for your hygiene. There were room slippers provided. You just need to forgive that the owner or keeper cannot speak english but over all this place is worth your money.
