off the beaten track, friendly and private beach
private beach if you have the hotel to yourself! really friendly locals and get to see a unchanged traditional Malaysia fishing village! there is also nature on your doorstep- chickens
Had a really nice time after the boat agency said how it wasn't a very nice place! A bit expensive to get to by water taxi but once there you have undisturbed Malaysia!! As long as you don't mind ants and the odd cockroach the room is basic but nice! Beautiful spot with small but private beach! Snorkelling 20 metres of the beach! Probably better when tide is in! And you might even see a turtle!! The local restaurant sell cheap and goof food with fish fresh from the ocean! A really nice spot to chill and relax and you can go to sleep to the crash of the waves!

Friendly villagers and beatiful village
friendly stay, beautiful ocean and you wont imagine there is ni TAR road in this village and NO CAR in this village.
At first we are very freeky with the location, becouse the only way to this Hotel from the ferry is water taxi, when we check in we see all only BASIC equipment in the hotel and we have to find our own way to EAT at the village is very chalenging, but after the 2nd day we realise this is how we supose to appreciate the nature beauty of this village, there is no word to write but we are very happy to back to nature stay.

The worst place i have ever slept.
staff are very friendly, not far (30 mins hike) from a lovely resort called minang cove.
After arriving late due to a delayed ferry crossing a very kind hotel owner called tony from minang cove arranged for two of his staff to give my wife and i, a motorbike trip through the jungle (which was good fun!) as our hoteliers could not be reached. My friend had managed to contact a very friendly staff were on hand to help us with our arrival. The chalet was horrendous. Filthy, uncomfortable, infested and very smelly. Before you think I am simply not used to basic, think again, a seasoned camper and backpacker is aware of basic. However, with no windows just net curtains, no sink and only cold water, this was beyond basic. When we left in the morning following at best 2 hours sleep, we were offered breakfast by a happy and very polite man and although i am sure the food was satisfactory the breakfast area was disguisting, we couldnt eat or return, so we booked in to MInang cove for the rest of our trip, which by the way is one of the most idyllic friendly and comfortable resorts i have ever been in. DO NOT GO TO TANJONG!

please don't go if u see my comment
nothing, totaly nothing
this place is very hard to go. the way to get this Tanjong inn you should take off first ferry stop 'genting'. after that you must take a boat taxi to get area Mukut. boat taxi fee is not include in accommodation price. one way boat taxi is 50Rm. when u leave Mukut area, must take a taxi again. another 50rm will be charged. and Tanjong Inn is Sucks !!!! youngster, family, whoever you are you must disappointed when you go. 1. beach - in the beach there is so many rocks. do not even expect a white sandy plain beach. i got many scar on the sole of my foot. and tide was very strong. hard to swiming also surfung . since mani sharp rocks. 2. accommodation. - there is no pave way to get a chalet. if you have a big luggage, you should lift luggage yourself and carrying. no air conditioning, no hair dry, no tv, no.. nothing. only thing in a room is matris. not bed, and many ants gackos. and 24/7 waves sound . hard to fall a sleep. first night when i was staying. electronic was shut downed. 3. food- each meal is 15Rm but you don't have altenative. there is no mall, shops, restaurants. if you want alive you must eat meal from Tanjong inn. 4. activities - nothing. seriously nothing to do there snor·kel·ing is impossible. no snorkeling tools, no life jacket rent. can not swimming. because of rocks and tide. total. once i booked this accommodation for 2night. but i escaped after 1 night. return boat fee was 100 rm and this boat fee charged person each. eventhough you find a only cheapest accommdation, Tangjong Inn is not a answer. Mukut area is not for traveler but for agriologist.

Very bad condition room
nothing to sell
This is a very bad condition hotel. The rooms are without air-cond and no water heater. It is a wooden chalet type and a lot of things were damaged. Food were not delicious and did not have much choice. Worse was the ferry did not go there and we have to pay Rm for a small boat to transfer us to there. The next day, worst we have to pay another Rm for the boat to fetch us to Berjaya Resorts.

Friendly but isolated
Quiet and serene
This place is well of the beaten track in a small village where there is one very basic shop for grocery type things and a few others selling gifts and odds and ends. There are two restaurants with very basic menus. The Inn sells meals and drinks but at roughly 5 times the usual Malaysian rate. The place has seen better times so if you expect fully functioning and defect free environments this place is not for you, it is better described as rough and ready. Transport from the ferry port to the village was 100 rm per person and there were 7 people in the boat = 700 rm, the bottom average earnings for a Malaysian manual worker is 800 rm per month for a 6 day week so it is not hard to work out that this is a rip of of monumental proportions. Generally we enjoyed our stay but for the real get away from it all factor rather than anything else. Whilst it was all affordable it is hard to reconcile one self with knowing that we were robbed on a grand scale (500% +).

Great service!
Secluded area and quiet. Nice place for trekking. Superb and personalized services.
Going to the place takes about two ferry rides from Mersing to Genting and finally to Tanjong Inn. The place is very 'kampong', quiet and laid back. It is not recommended though for sun bathing
