Tanjung Bungah hotels & places to stay

ive always had a pleasant stay in Copthorne ever since I was a kid. It may be an old hotel but they are certainly with class. Rooms are clean and well equipped, reasonably priced for a hotel in Tanjung Bungah. Just ten minutes drive from Batu Ferringhi beach, and 15 to 20 minutes from the city centre. Staff are polite and helpful The sea view is breath taking. Walking distance from places to eat like Ingolf (german food and beer) and Indian Delights. Will come again and again

we were there for 2 nights and really enjoyed the stay. the good:- rooms: big, clean, superb view. beach: clean and quiet. (this is in tanjung bungah and less crowded compared to batu feringghi) service: requested for extra pillow and mat, were delivered in 5 minutes. (better than some of the more expensive hotels i have stayed) food: only one restaurant but they changed the menu daily. and tons of great makan place nearby, so no need to worry. the bad:- free internet was really slow. overall: well worth the money.

We really enjoyed our stay here, with a view of the beach and sea for an affordable price in an ideal location not far from a hawker food court in Tanjung Bungah our preferred location when staying in Penang if you've got a scooter. We always rent from La Belle, go right there from the airport (you can arrange the bike via Facebook or Whatsapp even). Make sure to visit Arati Vilas indian restaurant not too far away for a Banana Leaf set. We enjoyed a walk along the beach with access right from the hotel, there's a great pool that I should have made time to swim in but we were too busy eating at our local favorites ;) I really was impressed with the staff, they were very responsive and kind. Our booking included breakfast which was convenient, with a decent selection -- considering the price, it's definitely much more than I expected. Buffet style, with a variety of food from jok/porridge to eggs to local cuisine and danishes. I was pleasantly surprised one morning by some samosas :)

Location is behind Tg Bungah main road, must hv transport as no food/store around the hotel. Swimming pool is very small but hv good view. The room and living hall are big but a bit old. You can see yellow stain in toilet, old style sofa in living room, and old style tv in master room. We hv 3 airconds , all brand new and function well. The beds are comfortable and clean.

Overall, Sandy Paradise Resort Hotel in Tanjung Bungah is a great family hotel. Great seaviews from room and very spacious pool facing the beach front. The Manager on duty and most staffs are very attentive to all guest. During my check-in, there was a delay due to high occupancy and our rooms were not ready. While we waited for another 20 minutes, the The Manager on that day explained the situation to us and later came up to our room to make sure we are happy with the room. Great customer service! We will definitely choose our stay here on our future visit to Penang.

Well, this is one of the best and comfortable refurbished hotel in Tanjung Bungah Penang Island. Starwood Group recently took over this property in penang. Formerly was Tg Bungah Hotel which not very popular in island. Food quality are average, however we found that in-room dining like tit-bit and beverages price are really reasonable which compare to other hotel in malaysia. Beer cost you only RM5 per can. They come with a package.Overall, very comfortable to stay. We will back again whenever we visit Penang !

We stayed 1 night at the Rainbow Paradise. The room was spacious and clean. Wifi signal in room was good and throughout the property. The location of the hotel is right opposite bus-stop where you can take bus around Georgetown. It is only a short walk to Tanjung Bungah . The last day before check-out, there were maintainances on water system so the water pressure was a bit weak but the staff nicely explained to us the situation. We left our luggages at the hotel until the evening since we had a night flight. The stuff also helped us called for taxi to the airport. Overall, we love the hotel and will be back again.

This is probably the worst review I have ever given to a place. But let’s start with the good points of Sea Lion: 1) The host is super polite and gracious. 2) The house is 2 mins walk from the beach (But it does not have beach view). What do I not like about the place: 1) It’s an older house. Unfortunately the house doesn’t seem to be well maintained despite the best effort of the host. (For example, it has metal roof as fence...) 2) The location is quite awkward — The only food place within walking distance seems to be Four Point Hotel about 100m away. More affordable food places seem to be quite far and not exactly walkable especially during hot afternoons (The of lack of foot path which is a common problem in Malaysia doesn’t help.) 3) The place stench of cigarettes. My nose isn’t terribly sensitive, but if you are, I would advice you to go somewhere else. 4) Cleanliness is a bit of a problem with this place... My room has quite a few lizard poo dripping down on the wall. 5) There just isn’t much to do around the place. Yes there is a beach, but realistically you can only go there in the morning and late afternoon when it’s not too hot. There really isn’t anything else within walking distance. If smoking cigarette and watching TV in the afternoon is your favourite pass time, you might like this place. If you have your own transport to get to the tourists attractions, or happy to Uber everywhere (Mind you, Uber and taxis are expensive in Penang), you might like this place. It is affordable after all. But I would think twice about choosing this place because it’s affordable — you will end up paying for transport when you can pick another place and save money on taxis.

basically, this lovely boutique hotel provide me with a very relax and comfort staying in penang. all the six rooms are spacious and served with different themes. the room that we stayed was "vanilla black", the design and decoration of the room is just nice which give us the feeling of home. however, if you wish to choose for certain theme of room, you need to give a call to the hotel to reserve for the room you want after you have booked with agoda. besides, i have noted the price offered by agoda is slightly higher (with a two breakfast's price) compared to those who booked direct with the hotel, with the same price offer by the hotel, two pax of breakfast had been included.

Very comfortable stay, very big spacious rooms with modern bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Only comments were rooms were lack of hanging space for clothes, bags, etc. Caretaker should be more observant when someone rings the doorbell, we waited for about 10 minutes or need to call him to get him to open the gate. Breakfast was served after we woke up, as caretaker will only cook it then. Not much of a choice though but it was quite good with scrambled eggs, sausage and toast bread. Overall, a very good choice of stay if you are looking for some peace and quiet, in the midst of Tanjung Bungah town area but away from the business and crowd. Perfect for couples and also groups of friends and family as you can have the whole bungalow to yourselves. You also wake up to a beautiful seaview from your balcony. We definitely will come back here again.

My wife and I just wanted a fast little vacation before Christmas. We really enjoyed the time, we had a great value for money, and it was brilliant to be able to walk down to the beach, and enjoy the sand and sun. Of course you need to keep in mind that there is some fishermen working on the beach, and rough waters can muddy up the water. But the rooms are nice and clean, the place is charming, and the staff pay good attention to you. Definitely worth a stay, but rely on Google maps to get there. -Our GPS had no clue.
