Great bungalows with amazing views”
Tao Thong is set on a really quiet part of the island along a beautiful road near not far from Sai Nuan beach. Our bungalow had amazing views out onto the bay with a hammock and seating area. They're also well built with relatively good mosquito proofing (although we didn't see many on Koh Tao during our stay in February). The staff were really nice and the food at the restaurant was good with decent prices. We'll definitely stay again next time we're on Koh Tao.

Really awesome place”
Ist is very silent and great for snorkeling. You need a Scooter or go bei Taxi (300 Baht) or Taxi Boat (250 Baht). Full recommendation. Loved the Pineapple Shake.

Quiet och beautiful”
I was there for 7 days and expected a quiet and a beautiful place to stay witch was spot on. Not people around here and I had the beach to my self many days. The beach is maybe not the best for bathing but was amazing for snorkeling witch was I wanted. I was on 3 other beaches snorkeling and this was the best I think, much better then shark bay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was ok and the balcony was AMAZING.. My room had a fan and not AC. I recommend renting a motorbike so you can travel to other parts of the island since this place is a bit away from everything.

first of all, tao thang villa is located on one of the best spots in koh tao when it comes to enjoying the quiet and snorkeling, you’ll find nice living corals right in front of your door and the sunsets are nice to watch as well. when we arrived we weren’t so happy with the cleanness in the bathroom and especially the fridge was dirty. we also had to get used to the cold shower, because despite us asking (in advance) for warm water and they replying there was a water heater ready, there wasn’t. anyway, we got used to it and at the end didn’t mind the not so clean bathroom and eventually got used to the cold shower, it’s actual nice in the morning, we had fans in our room and we didn’t wanna keep them running over night, so it got quite warm. the food is good (kitchen closing our changed a lot though which was unfortunate) pancake the cat is a great companion and the staff is nice as well.

Dangerous”
This hotel is very remote. You must travel quite far to get to the place outside of the city. When transportation drops you off you have to climb down slick rocks, holding on to a railing with your bags. The paths are poorly lit and in the rain is slippery and treacherous at night. All taxis and bikes seemed hesitant to drive my friends and I out to the hotel, especially at night because it was so out of the way. There were a few nights we could not find rides to the hotel so we had to rent another hotel in town. The staff (one man that we could find) was not friendly or helpful when we were trying to get a taxi (our cell phone service did not work from the hotel). The rooms were damp and musty, sea breeze misting into the cabins. All of my clothes smelled of mildew from hanging in the closet. As a woman, alone, traveling with another set of women, we did not feel safe without proper cell service, isolated, and poorly lit and primitive lodging so far out from town.

Paradaise”
Tao thong villa 2 is a little peace of paradise, it´s inside a beautiful beach in the south of koh tao. You can enjoy the beach every day, and used to be almost anyone on there. The woman who works in the hotel is a kind and lovely person, and she makes feel like at home. The food at the restaurant is the best food I ate in my 4 weeks in Thailand. The only bad thing is that to get there you need go with the motorbike for a bad road into the jungle with really big slopes, so if you are not going to rent a motorbike, think maybe you need to call a taxi every time you want to go to other place. But for the rest is a incredible place and when i´ll come back koh tao again, i´m going to this place! Peaceful place + empty beach + a lot of colour fish to do snorkel + incredible food + siesta in the hammock

Tao Thong Villa 2 is a wonderful hotel. If you want to rest yourself and to be in a such beautiful place you need to go there. This hotel is far from evrything so you don't go there for party. You need to eat at the restaurant's hotel but no problem food is good and not expensive.

Basic bungalow with a fantastic view”
Thao Tong Villa is a really nice bungalow resort for relaxing or for adventurers who want to enjoy the nature. Our bungalow was very basic but worth the money. The "town" is quite far away from Tao Thong Resort, but you can walk to it within 35 minutes or take the water taxi of the resort. It must be mentioned that this resort is definitely not suited for persons with wheelchairs, broken legs or any problems with walking due to the uneven terrain. Besides there are no lights at the path from the restaurant to the bungalow, so flashlight or mobile phone is a must!

Great escape”
We loved our basic bungalow stay at Tao Thong Villa 2. The resort is very remote, but we enjoyed making the hike into Mae Hat along the path through cliffs and beaches. We are novice motorcyclists, and did not feel comfortable renting and driving up the mountainous roads to get to the resort, so expensive taxis (and potentially water taxis) and hiking 30+ minutes were the only option. That being said, you could absolutely get on this resort and never bother to go into town because it was so gorgeous and serene.

Paradise in Kot Tao ”
What a beautiful nice place. You can find bungalows for every taste in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant is just awesome. The way to the Tao Thong Villa is a little adventure, but you will but far a way from party an noise from the city. You hear just the waves crashing the cost.

Good place for relaxation”
We are a couple and we brought our old parents along. Great place for relaxation, all the cabins have sea views and a hammock hanging at the balcony, nice sea breeze and could hear the sound to bed every night. Need to take 15 min taxi ride from the pier to the villa which cost THB 400 one way. There is a trail uphill and downhill to the pier connecting all the villas along the coast as well, take 45 min to walk. Wilai, the female owner of the villa cooked delicious food, the price was reasonable considered that the remote location of the villa. The restaurant closed at 8 pm though. The stairs connecting the cabins and the reception / restaurant were quite high and tiring for our old parents. We stayed for 4 nights, the first few days the wind and current were very strong, couldn't get in the water. Luckily the beach calmed down on our last day, we had great fun snorkeling and enjoyed so much. The beach at villa 2 was smaller than the one at villa 1, but we swam across.

Decent”
Decent value. It was difficult to find. The one small sign pointing to Villa 2 was not easy to see and only sort of points to a small path that you need to walk down. If you are driving a motorbike, be aware it is very hilly and some parts unpaved. Especially near the property, it was actually quite difficult to navigate up the steep dirt road so hopefully you have driven a motorbike before. If you are staying the the fan rooms, expect some ants in the room. The aircon room was fantastic. Food is reasonably priced and quantity is good which is a good things because it's the only option unless you take a 10 minute drive. There are probably better places unless you want to be isolated, then I would definitely recommend it. The woman running it is very friendly too.

Amazing place to stay with nice people and delicious food!”
We stayed for five days and had an awesome time! The bungalow was simple but 5 meters infront of the water! Bring your snorchel to see many corals and fishes! The owner is taking you for small money with bis own boat around the whole island and shows you the best snorchel spots! Close to the bungalow is a sky bar with a hippie athmosphere and tasty cocktails! It is complecated to reach other bays! A twenty minute steep walk brings you to the next bay where you get everything!

Paradis far out from everything ”
We stayed there for 2 nights. Depending on what you are looking for it can be paradis. It is far from everything and really quiet. Its the perfect Spot for snorkeling on tao. If you chose to stay there, you really shouldnt mind huge geckos including their excrement in the open bungalows.

Incredible !”
This place is amazing. We had a wonderful stay there. The view is awesome and very peaceful. You are away from everything and it is great to feel lonely this way. There is a good spot for snorkeling there, you can easily spend the day on the little beach and enjoy this paradise. The rooms are big and clean. You can have something to eat at any time and it is always good. There is a very large choice. The hotel is thirty minutes walk from the harbor, otherwise you depend on taxis (expensive because it is quite hard to get there so you will have to pay 400 bath each time). All in all, we would definitely recommend this beautiful place, where we had a blast !

Beautiful but”
Very beautiful but all the services are in Thao Thong village 1. The bungalows and the views are awesome!! The room was clean but the bathroom was not. If you are looking for a savage place to stay this is the best one in the island. The location is not the best but it is ok if you want to stay in the village.

Excelent view”
You can't get a better location for this price. Every bungalow has direct sea view. Also, there is quick acces to the water. Be sure to bring coral/surf shoes for there is little to no sand in the water - only rocks and dead coral. Very quiet, as well, with lots of privacy. Get insect repellent.

Cute location but slow service ”
Really cute wooden stilted hut, just with a bed and a bathroom, but service was very slow - waited nearly 2 hours to get our room after check in and similar at the restaurant. Nobody at reception after 9pm, but when the woman was there she was lovely. Beautiful location but about 300baht to get a taxi from town - not walkable at night

The location of the hostel is really nice, you can enjoy of a beautiful beach perfect to do snorkeling. You will need a motobike there, the hostel is isolated from the facilities and the "city", but be careful because the road is pretty dangerous. Bungalows are good for the price and the vue is stuning. The hostel also have a restaurant which is not too expensive and really good. The only negative point of our stay was the behavior of the staff, sometimes really rude ..
