Located down a street across from a temple the hotel is quiet, but not far from the action. Two blocks over is the night market, and a few blocks in the other direction the old city. Staff was nice and attentive and offer lots of services for visitors.

Mixed feelings”
Roelof Heikens, from the Netherlands. My meaning about this hotel is that I am not really satisfied with this hotel. I stayed here two weeks in december 2018. The first week I had a room with only cold water. After asking a few times to repair it in the first week I got another room. Also I do not like a bathtub in the shower. The hallway was noisy when somebody was in the hallway. The included breakfast was simple and the breakfast was served in another place. The restaurant and terrace where not accessable. So it was either staying in your room or go outside. So far the negative sides of the hotel in my opinion. The positive things are that it was very clean. The staff is very helpfull, the location is very good, the rooms are spacious. Overall a positive feeling about this hotel, but I will not stay here again, the most important reason is that there is a bathtub in the room. I do not like that.

We stayed here two nights before we left Thailand, and all was good. Staff helped us with luggage when we arrived, and were friendly overall. Room was spacious and comfortable. Location makes for easy access into the old city, without having to deal with noise. Would stay here again.

Decent hotel in a good location.”
Room was clean, well sized, the shower, fridge and aircon all work so I was happy. Good view of the temple next door too. Well located halfway between the walled city and the night bazaars. Breakfast was a bit so so, but good value if you pay the 100 baht cash price, and are willing to wait for the periodic arrival of freshly cooked (and therefore hot) food.

Very good”
Great lication between Night Market and Sunday Market. Room was big and clean. Bathroom had a tub and hot water all the time. Only drawback was the shower was at a low height - ok if you are 4 ft tall. Breakfast was ok but I wouldn’t pay for it. The staff were helpful and there English was good. Overall a good place to stay.

Amazing view,good breakfast, Huge Bathtub!!!”
There was a slight mildew smell in the bathroom after taking a shower but that is basically my only complaint. I enjoyed my stay and was able to fill up each morning on a good breakfast &woke up to an amazing view of the Wat right across the Soi. The location was fantastic! Easy walking distance to shopping &food&still somehow peaceful. The staff was very nice& helpful and did I mention the Bathtub?! Huge American Standard tub inspired me to spoil myself with some bath bombs and a much needed Hot soak. I would highly recommend this place especially if you can split the bill with a travel buddy it's totally reasonable for what ye get in my opinion. Not the best super budget place but a fantastic middle ground for those looking for certain comforts without totally breaking the bank.

The price is cheap, with breakfast, the room is large and it is very wonderful. The staff's correspondence was good, the price of laundry service was also cheap and it was greatly appreciated. It is hotel where we want to stay again.

It's close to all of the attraction sites around tapae. It's within walking distance to varoros market ,hill tribe market, night barrzar, flea market and any of food stalls.”
The staffs are helpful and friendly. It is overly clean in the overall. But you need to bring own your tissue paper . In the bed room doesn't carry this item. And one more problem is about the toilet bowl, flushing water can operate only one time if you need to flush more than one ,you have to wait until the flushing water completely full again ,it takes time a bit. By the way ,the overall condition is good and value for your money compared with slightly low price.I recommend.

The hotel is old and well worn but it is very clean and the bed was very comfortable Staff were friendly and helpful and I did enjoy my stay. Breakfast was adequate but not luxurious The location is good as you are only a short walk from the night market and most of the restaurants The price was very low and the value for money was good. Good budget option near Tapae Gate”
It's a budget hotel so don't be surprised by the slightly smelly drains or signs of age. This hotel has something more important to us and that is friendly, helpful staff. If you don't ask for breakfast to be included in your room rate you pay 100 baht for the buffet breakfast. This gives you flexibility to eat in the many cafes around the hotel. Very near Tapae and the night market. This is our second stay and l would come back.

Stayed here many a time and now we're in the low season it's even better value. Good location. Clean rooms although it's an older hotel. This time breakfast wasn't included but I didn't have time anyway and Chiang Mai is not short of places to eat! Anyway,I'm sure I'll be back.

The location is very handy and just far enough off the busy Thapae Road to be very quiet. Yes it's a bit dated but it's clean and the staff are helpful. Breakfast is just ok, the selection is a bit limited but it's adequate. So this is one of my regular haunts and it's always a easy choice to make.

Strategic located and easy access”
Hotel is pretty well maintained and clean. It is near markets nearby. Easy to get transport and walking distant to night market and morning market. Easy access to good shopping nearby and good restaurants as well as the old city. Breakfast simple and good. Location is quiet for it being located near the main road. I enjoyed my stay and hotel really value for money.

Nice, but overpriced in my opinion”
Location, elevator, large refrigerator
It is a very nice place, and the bed was very comfy. I wanted to extend my stay, but the manager would not give me the same rate. The staff would not allow a 30 min late check out. They offer a lot of services, such as motorbike rental and transport to the bus station, but like the hotel itself, I found these services to be overpriced, compared to rates elsewhere in Chiang Mai (motorbike rental shops, taxi, etc). The cleaning staff were, however, very pleasant and quite thorough.

A good option for the budget conscious”
Location, undercover parking, value
I think this was my third or fourth stay at Thapae Place. It's always a fair choice for the price, and offers a bit which others don't at the same money. It has ample parking underneath. although be careful, the clearance is too low for anything bigger than a standard pickup. The bathrooms have a full sized bathtub and decent hot water service. The rooms are quite generous in size, although there is really only one power point in the room for charging your phones (unless you unplug the fridge or TV!) Generally speaking the rooms are quiet but this could change depending on other guests I guess, as the doors to the rooms seemed quiet thin. Surprisingly the room only had a double bed as opposed to a queen or king, but it was reasonably comfortable and afforded a good night's sleep. Breakfast is pretty basic but ok, and if it's included for less than 100 baht per person then you may as well take that option, as that is what it will cost you if you pay as you go. The staff are all friendly and helpful and as the hotel is just off Thapae Road it's very handy to everything, with the network of Sois between Thapae Road and Loi Kroh Road worth a bit of exploring in day or night time, too. Anyway, you won't go far wrong if you're budget conscious but not prepared to, (or in my case, too old to) mingle with backpackers in a dormitory roomed hostel.

Good value, but getting a little tired”
Location, cleanliness, staff performance
Firstly, it's in a great location, you can walk to Thapae Gate, the Night Bazaar, and many attractions such a Loy Kroh Road for some nightlife. the beds are comfortable, and the sheets and towels clean and fresh, so congratulations to the housekeeping staff who do their job with pride. I booked the super special rate because I was on my own for a meeting, but as a word of caution I seem to find that whenever I book at the bottom rate I get the least desirable rooms, next to the elevator shaft etc etc. Not so much of a problem in this hotel because I couldn't hear it, but it seems to be a trend with the super discount rates, so be careful! Anyway, at the price it's pretty good. The staff are helpful and mostly cheerful. Breakfast is basic but good, and the dining area spacious and has a nice, open feel. It's certainly worth considering staying here and if you have a car, it has sufficient parking underneath, a real plus as many hotels don't provide this.

a sound choice. ”
location, value, parking.
Had a good 3 night stay here. The location is great, half way between Tapae Gate and the night bazaar. The hotel is a bit on the old side but the room was clean and comfortable. It had adequate space even with an extra bed in place. On the subject of extra beds the charge for this was far more reasonable than many other hotels I looked at while searching. Breakfast was pretty good, a reasonable selection of thai and western staples. Reception and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful and the tour desk must do a good job because there were plenty of pick ups every morning. in summary, for the price, this is a good choice. Quiet and comfortable room (4th floor), great location and parking underneath for those with wheels. Oh, and there was a full bathtub in the room, too!

1. Helpful staffs 2.Great & strategy location 3. Comfortable room
The water system was broken, unable to use hot water system on the first night. Although it was new year holiday, the hotel able to fix it on the next day. Helpful staff tried to repair the water system at midnight instead of waiting the technician on the next day. Breakfast buffet is just nice with few choices. Everything is good especially the location. Easy to access to attractive location around Chiang Mai city.

Good hotel, good location - to recommend”
Location, rooms, breakfast
I always try to find a hotel in the center of a place to have the sightseeing points in walking distance. This time I found it – the hotel in a perfect and quiet location in a side street near Taphae Gate (entrance to the old city), the Night Bazaar (many shops and restaurants all days in the week)and many beautiful temples around, with Songthaew (van like vehicles with rows of seating in the back) driving in the very close main Tha Pae Road to the major sightseeing places that are more far away not in walking distance (e.g. the Zoo or the Doi Suthep). In the hotel you find good rooms and a good breakfast buffet with Western and Asian food. Good condition of the building, clean rooms with all you need, good service. This hotel is really to recommend, the next time in Chiang Mai I will return.
