Nice location, great view. ”
Room was nice and had sliding doors that opened up with an uninterrupted view of the River Kwai. Being far from the road meant little to no noise and was very quiet. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. From here it's a short walk to the main strip and a number of sights, as well as many shops, bars and restaurants. Easy to recommend.

Beautiful river view”
We stayed here for one night and at first appearances were shocked because they are doing some renovations in the front of the building. However don’t let this taint your view. The rooms were very good and the river view was stunning. The AirCon and wifi is good and the bed was comfortable. It’s close to the main town and found everything was walkable or a quick bike ride. Definitely recommend

The best boat house”
The room very clean and the view also nice especially when sunset the color of sky very breathtaking.Also had a place where you can enjoy the river view with your family/group at their raft. The place also very quiet during the night if you guys want quiet and very calmness night this place very suitable for you. P/S: When you want to walk to go to town beware of the dog make sure you guys choose the right road.

A budget facility with a clean bed and a hot shower. Staff was rarely present and did not speak English, but we managed. No restaurant, no English tv, decent wi-fi, close to the ‘strip’. Adequate.

Noisy Night...”
These are river raft rooms and the people who stayed there treated it like their own house playing music and being loud until 1am. Little or no sleep was possible. Not great. Room was nice.

Poor quality rooms.. and tiny too. No sound insulation,, plus ours had a sloping (sinking?) floor. I know they are rafts.,,but still!

Music with heavy bass from the pub across the river was very noisy till midnight. The view from my room was not so good as my room was next to the slum house on the river side. Location is very good as it is near the war cemetery and restrauents along the riverside and not far from the historical bridge. Good for Money.

Disappointing.”
Yes it is on the river. The views are not great and some rooms face Thai river houses that are far from a pretty sight. Alot of river trash sweeps up against the dmall balconies to the rooms. The staff were ok not friendly and not rude. Rooms are super small as is the bathroom. Bed is soft. Now the Thai singer and music that comes from directly across the river makes staying here unbearable. I got no sleep until the music stopped after 1am.

Being on the river it ended up being very buggy. The sliding glass door doesn't shut 100% so the frequent cigarette smokers ended up filling my room with the smell of cigarettes. And you're kinda in a back alley, so you need to avoid some stray dogs heading to the main street (not 100% friendly during my 2 days there). But it's close to 2 awesome restaurants and attractions.

Awful place, not recommended if you want a peaceful night's sleep”
I stayed here for 2 nights was hoping for a nice and relaxing place on the river. Unfortunately it turned out to be the opposite. Firstly, the only window in the room looked out directly into a concrete block wall literally 1 foot away from the window, which defeated the purpose of the window and definitely not what was showed on the room description. Secondly, the whole place is just worn, tired and a little grubby. Thirdly, the walls in the place are just paper thin and I could hear everything in the adjacent communal area. The guy who mans the reception area at night played music until about 1am or 2am in the morning. When the other staff arrive at about 6am they all start chatting to each other which basically woke me up. So the first night I got very little sleep. On the second night, I tolerated the music playing until about midnight when I got out of bed to tell the guy to turn it off (which he did) but still got 6am wakeup Overall one of the worst places I stayed in Thailand

We didn’t actually stay, arrived reviewed the room and found alternative accommodation. The reception area is very un-inviting and the room whilst appeared to be clean it certainly didn’t feel comfortable for a superior room. If you’re looking for the raft experience then look elsewhere, if you’re looking for a very budget raft experience then you’ll be fine here.

For a budget hotel, it is not the worst. However, there is no professional staff at the hotel. People come and go at night, which is totally inappropriate for staying families.

Great place! ”
Had a lovely couple of nights at Tara Raft. Being on the river Kwai with amazing views and our own little balcony to sit out on and enjoy was the highlight. We had a twin room but the beds were next to each other so it felt like we had a huge king size bed. Location wise it is very close to kanchanaburi station and about 20 minutes walk to bus station and 5 minutes walk to street with bars, restaurants. Clean room, good wifi, great facilities, helpful and kind staff and all for a very very good price! If we are ever back in Kanchanaburi we will defiantly be staying here again - thank you Tara Raft!

Great base to unwind after a long day sightseeing”
Great 2 night stay at the Tara Raft house. The location overlooking the river Kwai is beautiful as is the sunset. Grab a beer and sit in the swing and watch the sun go down. The rooms are on a floating pontoon. The further out your room is on the pontoon, the better the view. Ask for rooms 6,8 or 10. The bed was so comfy unlike all others I have slept in in Thailand. Only a 5 min walk to the centre for food/bars. As a solo female traveller I felt safe walking home despite having to walk down a side road as the locals were very welcoming and friendly. They only serve breakfast here but the VN raft house is next door if you fancy a bite to eat and don't want to walk into town. I ate there and the food is good. Definitely recommend the Tara raft house to stay at.

Great view over the river & Clean room”
I stayed at Tara Raft for only one night but i really enjoy it so much. I love the stunning view of sunset over the River Kwai from the room balcony. You can sit there and relax. In the night time you can still enjoy listening to the river flow and peaceful atmosphere. Even you can hear the other guests walking from outside the room but that did not bother me too much. Hotel only sell for room only but you can easily find the local restaurants or you can try food at Tara Bed & Breakfast which has the same owner and it is about 2 minutes by shuttle pick up. If you are looking for quiet relaxing with riverside room. I highly recommend Tara Raft for your stay in Kanchanaburi
