Fantastic location, tricky without a car”
We had a nicely sized room with three beds and an incredible mountain view. The center had nice if quiet basic amenities: outdoor seating with wifi, a decent breakfast, laundry, a little convenience store-like place to buy gifts or snacks. Only drawback was the accessibility around Tienhsiang without a car. We took a taxi up to the center, which worked great, but once you're there there isn't much at all in Tienhsiang. 7/11 was the best lunch option we found. One tip: if you're looking for something to do in Tienhsiang, there's a nice secluded little trail from Wen Tianxiang Park back to the youth activity center. We saw a lot of monkeys along that walk!

Great for overnighting in Taroko”
The youth centre is clean and well located right in the heart of Taroko. It’s a 5 minute walk to the bus station to catch the 302 or 1133A. You can get to the popular sights early before all the tour buses arrive since you’re staying in the park. Breakfast was ok. There is a Taroko aboriginal cultural performance at night that was interesting to watch.

Would stay again”
Loved the friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms, and location. There is a 7-11 close by for quick and cheap meals. Highly recommend renting a car to get to the youth activity center and driving around the park.

Best location for Taroko Gorge hikes with amazing view”
It's an average hostel in terms of decor and look and that goes up to spectacular because of it's location. Stay in Tianxiang to get much more convenient access to the Taroko Gorge walks instead of staying in Hualien or Xincheng. It feels a bit on the pricey side, but considering the lack of other options and its relatively secluded location it's pretty good. Try to get a room facing the mountain, it's an amazing view. Staff are friendly and accommodating Only negative was the food, very oily veggies for dinner and breakfast, but a lot of breakfast is like this in Taiwan.

Thank you for your suggestion, we will do our best to serve well, welcome you to visit again next time!
Best place to stay in the park”
Outstanding location. Sort of like half way between a hostel and hotel. Very easy to ride shuttle buses from here to many trails in park. Can walk to others. Walk up the hill from bus stop to hotel might be a bit more than some people were expecting. Youth activity centers in other parks are nicer

Clean room with excellent views and food”
The location of the center is amazing where it overlooks the river and nestled in the mountain. The room was a clean Japanese style room with 2 huge beds and a large window facing the river and mountain. I enjoyed the sounds of the river rushing by and the sun waking us up in the morning. The breakfast was all you can eat style and had a wide variety of dishes with lots of vegetables. Similarly, the dinner which you had to pay for (only 200 NT) was a great deal for the price. I would eat here instead of the vendors near the bus stop. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and more than willing to converse with you in English which was very good. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay that was just right for the price.

Simple option inside Taroko park”
The hotel is quite basic, but we enjoyed a clean room (quite big) with private bathroom, small balcony with great View, aircon, tv (many international tv channels). Location within taroko park, with easy direct access by tourist bus from Hualien or Xincheng station. You need to get off the bus at the last stop Tianxiang, and then it is a 5 mn walk (step road !!) up to the hotel. The breakfast is ok. It is very quiet at night as far away from the main road. Very good hotel choice if you plan to stay within the park to do some hiking. Staff is very nice ( limited english spoken though), check in/out process fast and hasslefree.

Excellent”
We stayed for one night. + Room was large and spacious. + Clean + Good water pressure from the shower head + Great view from the room's window + Free snack given (we had a packet of chocolate wafer sticks) + There was free-flow braised pork rice at breakfast, which we generously helped ourselves to because the braised pork gravy was so tasty! - no hairdryer - hotel design and furnishing are dated and dull - located on a very steep hill that would have been an easy 5-min walk from the bus terminal but took us 10 mins instead because of the steep incline – great workout but not after you've already completed other trails at Taroko! - Breakfast ends at 8.30am (we didn't know until we heard the staff announce it while we were eating – luckily we went to eat early!)

Expansive Hotel in the Center of Taroko”
The absolute best feature of this place is the location. It's smack dab in the middle of Taroko Park, allowing you to tap into the feeling of nature and isolation. It's even a short walk from the small town it's located in, truly affording a feel of solitude. Rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding gorge, and are clean too! I loved the staff as well. They made sure I had everything I needed, and answered a ton of questions as well. The breakfast was wonderful, the live musicians at night were very talented, and I made quite a few good friends on the patio outside! I loved exploring the many stories and areas of the facility, and reading the various historical plaques they had put up as well. I wish I had more time here! It's a great place to meet new friends and relax. They also have a small convenience store with basic items.

Million dollar view”
Forget about the five star resort nearby. In this place you will find great window views that Taroko George is famous for. If you plan to spend your time outdoors for trail and hiking, this is a great choice. The room itself was not as basic as we thought. On the contrary, it had everything that we would hope for: a quiet air conditioner, fridge, comfortable beds, spacious room... please consider this place. I recommend it strongly.

Enjoyed staying in the National Park”
I stayed at the hostel for two nights so I could spend more time exploring various attractions within the National Park. Staff was helpful and provided some information around the area. The room was nice, with two full size bed (can easily sleep up to four people). The bathroom was very basic. I like that the room has a little patio, overlooking the forest. Breakfast was included and food was not bad, with a variety of selections such as porridge, noodles, bread and pastry, eggs, veggies, salad, both cold and hot beverages. However, the food was almost the same for the two days that I was there. It's about 10 minutes walk from the bus station, the final 100-200m was really steep and can be challenging for some people. Tienhsiang was very quiet at night, not a lot of food options, I ended up getting something to eat from the 7-11 right across the street from the bus station.

Exceptional”
A little pricy, but there are not many options in Tienhsiang so you can't be picky. That said, while old, the accommodation is clean. Buffet breakfast has simple options to start your day.

Exceptional”
Loved being in the mountains. For someone willing to walk a bit from hostel to town / bus stop (~500m?) you can get around without a car using bus, but you can do less. Many of the Taroko trails are closed; front desk can check for you. Breakfast buffet is good. Double check if you want their dinner- they don’t always have it. Property slightly aged but room was pleasant.

Fantastic! 10/10”
Recommend that place to anyone who wants to visit Taroko National Park. Also it gives you that kind of one and only in the world magical experience due to the closeness of huge rivers and being in the heart of the mountain range. It kinda stayed in the 80s, but that only adds the magic. Great breakfast, brilliant dinner. Recommend!

Nice alternative to expensive hotels”
Perfect place to stay in Taroko if you don't want to spend that much amount and don't need a luxurious hotels. Simple and nice. Has a great view for mountain river. Breakfast is fine, but actually never met a bad food in Taiwan.

Best room view!”
If you’re visiting Taroko National Park and want to stay right in the park, this is the best place to stay! You step out and you are instantly welcomed by this amazing view and there are trails you could do that start in the area as well so you don’t have to take a shuttle. You fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall and birds chirping and the beds are comfy too! The bus station is just a 5 min walk away and from there you could take the shuttle to see the rest of the park, it’s pretty fool proof. There aren’t a lot of food options in Tianxiang and I ate from 711 while I was there but it wasn’t an issue! You could also have lunch in the park if you take the shuttle. :)

Taroko Tienhsiang Youth Activity Center”
Good location - public buses (302 and 1133) available to get to the various trails easily. There was free breakfast provided, and good amenities. There was a 7-11 just down the road. The staff were very helpful in providing tips for hiking the trails in Taroko. We were very happy with the place.

Amazing Location!”
Clean rooms with private bathrooms, in the heart of Taroko, easy to access to public transportation around the park and within the park. Meals available on-site. 7-11 and local food available nearby.

Cozy old place in an excellent location”
The place has a good value for money, old but relatively kept clean though the room we got had the a/c leaking water. Breakfast buffet is mainly catered to local travelers with mostly Taiwanese breakfast items, no fried/scrambled eggs, no western sausages and bacon or cereals, dinner buffet is the same, I have tasted better Taiwanese dishes than what they offer. If your Taroko trip is mainly for the hike and outdoor activities and the hotel just for sleep and getting cleaned up then this is the place for you otherwise look for a better but may be a more expensive place (down the road).
