Wonderful Experience”
This is an amazing hotel with an even better backstory. The hotel staff are all Taroko people, the aboriginal people for which the gorge is named. I met the owner and saw his passion for providing economic opportunity to this underprivileged group. Dinner and Breakfast are provided and the food uses as much local ingredients as possible. Pork is a staple of the diet. It is one of only two hotels located within the national park and is the closest thing I have seen to a National Park lodge outside the United States. The rooms are cabin like duplexes with porches and screened windows allowing the breeze to blow in. The hotel is at 4500 feet so it is a bit cool. The evening show features youth Taroko people sharing their music, dancing, and singing talents. The show and the entire facility feature the Taroko People and their culture. This is an excellent place to learn about throw culture and immerse yourself in nature. Chinese is the primary language.

The best forest retreat you could hope for in Taiwan”
This is my second stay here. The first was 7 years ago. Not much has changed and that is what is so great about this place. This time I took my parents here and they loved it. Staff are some of the friendliest you will ever meet. It is great to be able to sit outside with nature and get away from the city.

Waking up to giants”
Really beautiful property located at mid-mountains. You wake up surrounded by mountains and clean air. However, it is a pretty touristy place where the buffet dinner was full of over-grabbing tourists. Quality of the dinner and breakfast were ok. If you don’t like theatrics you may want to stay out of the nightly “tribal showcase” cos it can come across as quick gimmicky. They rotate the performance among 3 groups of youth. In general, rooms and service were ok (little understaffed, partly cos it was fully booked).

Other worldly and charming”
It was probably off peak as the place was very quiet and had few visitors. We enjoyed the quietness and the beautiful surrounding. Would stay here again if we do come back.

Great location, friendly staff”
The location and the setting of the hotel is great. The hotel was built in the oboriginal tribal style, and we stayed in one of the chalets overlooking green open space with the mountains as backdrop. My daughters (3.5yrs and 1yr) loved running around and exploring the area.

It is not a 5 star hotel but certainly one that has a sky full of stars. Love the nature n natural. It wil be good if the room can be for prced for two persons. A room ifir a family of 5 plus can be stretching in terms of bathing.

recommend ”
For those who are used to camping, this is highly recommended. They offer after dinner native tribal dances as entertainment. It was good but don't expect to see authentic native dances though.

1 night stay”
we arrived just in time for the buffet dinner which was included in the room rate. the surrounding and environment was good, green and clean. room was reasonable and there were extra toilet and bathroom outside, which is convenient as we had 5 people in one large room with only 1 bathroom and toilet. the show after dinner was also quite interesting.

Special place in Taroko that showcases the Taroko culture”
A magical place filled with the culture of the Taroko people. Facilities were clean and the after-dinner entertainment was intimate. The location is a bit out of the way if one does not have chartered/private transportation. Also heard weird noises outside the room at night, but might just be wild animals.

Thank you for staying at our hotel and give us such a good complement. Truly, the environment of our hotel is interesting, and our staff is also friendly. The noise you heard outside the room is surely animals. Staying in the mountains is quite amazing, isn't it? Thank you and have a nice day.
Good place for self isolation in Taroko”
The staff are extremely helpful and nice. We love the food they cook for us. The bathroom smells a bit weird and the shower is dated. Very comfortable beds

Beautiful surroundings; a little inconvenient in terms of accessibility”
Pleasant stay; it was a little inconvenient in terms of accessibility, however the hotel provides a pick-up service for a fee. The breakfast and dinner also had a good spread. Most importantly, the service staff was courteous, and made the stay an enjoyable one. I would recommend this place.

Overpriced despite great location”
One of the most amazing site in Taiwan, but cheap food, noisy shows and tasteless arrangements. For this price we were expecting a wonderful stay but it was not. The staff is good and polite but the management should seriously review their offering and pricing policy.

Low CP Value”
Great location, but definitely NOT worth the cost! The rooms are so so, and the food is not up to standards. But the price is just way too high!

Best hotel in Taroko!”
We stayed at the Leader Village Taroko for 3 nights and spent our Christmas at the Village. We reached Hualien by TRA pretty late and only made transport booking couple of hours prior to our arrival. The Village staff was very accomodating and arranged a pick up for us immediately. Once we reached the Village, we were greeted by the beautiful view of Taroko. Villages (rooms) are surrounded by mountains and the view outside the room is breathtaking! The village (room) is very spacious and well maintained-clean and bright. They also provided breakfast and dinner. The food is a mixture of Taiwanese and Western style. For dinner, they always have BBQ wild boar which we loved to eat so much. After dinner, there were musical and dance performaces conducted by the Village's staff and owner which emphasizes the Taroko tribe's culture with some fun (modern dance) added to it. Though the performances are conducted in Mandarin (and i dont understand Mandarin), we still found it interesting and watched it everynight. One thing which we remembered the most is the attitude of the staff and their service. The staffs were very friendly and thoughtful. For example, we needed to leave very early on our last day, they helped to arrange a pick up and also packed breakfast for us! And because we stayed for 3 nights, on our last night, they gave us complimentary food (we chose beef steak)! Overall we had an enjoyable and lovely stay at the Village. We will definitely stay again at Leader Village Taroko.
