    Wonderful Experience”

This is an amazing hotel with an even better backstory. The hotel staff are all Taroko people, the aboriginal people for which the gorge is named. I met the owner and saw his passion for providing economic opportunity to this underprivileged group. Dinner and Breakfast are provided and the food uses as much local ingredients as possible. Pork is a staple of the diet. It is one of only two hotels located within the national park and is the closest thing I have seen to a National Park lodge outside the United States. The rooms are cabin like duplexes with porches and screened windows allowing the breeze to blow in. The hotel is at 4500 feet so it is a bit cool. The evening show features youth Taroko people sharing their music, dancing, and singing talents. The show and the entire facility feature the Taroko People and their culture. This is an excellent place to learn about throw culture and immerse yourself in nature. Chinese is the primary language.

    Waking up to giants”

Really beautiful property located at mid-mountains. You wake up surrounded by mountains and clean air. However, it is a pretty touristy place where the buffet dinner was full of over-grabbing tourists. Quality of the dinner and breakfast were ok. If you don’t like theatrics you may want to stay out of the nightly “tribal showcase” cos it can come across as quick gimmicky. They rotate the performance among 3 groups of youth. In general, rooms and service were ok (little understaffed, partly cos it was fully booked).

    Great location, friendly staff”

The location and the setting of the hotel is great. The hotel was built in the oboriginal tribal style, and we stayed in one of the chalets overlooking green open space with the mountains as backdrop. My daughters (3.5yrs and 1yr) loved running around and exploring the area.

    Very good”

Overall my stay here was great to begin with. This hotel has already been running for 14 years and yet the rooms and facilities were quite well maintained. The check in process was smooth, and we were given some souvenirs, which was a surprise for us. Called up the hotel too assist in booking a taxi and the staffs were very helpful. Breakfast and dinner was great and the surroundings were greats spots for photo shooting. The performance at night was superb. Highly recommend this place for family to spend a weekend away with the kids.

Beautiful Experience in Leader Village Taroko Hotel”

This hotel has provided us a very relaxed stay. We were surrounded by the beautiful mountains and low clouds. The atmosphere is wonderful as you feel you're almost back in the nature, staying in a beautiful village. The staffs were very helpful and nice. There's buffet dinner and breakfast provided during the stay. Facilities are very sufficient. You could arrange a pick up and drop off at a cost. There are performances every night by the staff, very interesting and humorous. I would definitely go back next time.

    A touch of Truku hospitality”

Enthusiastic performance by the children and staff, good breakfast and dinner, beautiful location

The hotel is located in the beautiful Taroko Gorge. It is a treat to wake in the morning and savour the view. The buffet breakfast and dinner were quite delicious, unique (include some Truku dishes) and substantial although the room is quite basic and eco-friendly (no pesticides used although both doors and windows had insect screens). The warm and enthusiastic performance by the manager, staff and children is absolutely heartwarming and a highlight. My kid especially enjoyed the 4 tone Taroko xylophone performance and he absolutely loves the Taroko souvenir he got for completing the quiz, carrying it in his pocket for the rest of the trip. One night here seems too short. We would stay here again.

    Memorable stay”

    Atmosphere, mountain view and weather

Leader Village Taroko Hotel is a great hotel with enough guests, not too many and not too few. The view and atmosphere is great. Internet is only fast and good in the lobby but extremely poor in our room. Food cannot be called the best but offer enough satisfactions. generally, highly recommended hotel in this wonderful national park.

    Quiet chalet by the mountains.”

    Quiet, excellent surroundings, clean.

I loved the mountains surrounding the cabins. Excellent environment if you want to be close to nature. If you need to get away from all the hustle bustle of city life, spend a few days here. The staff are attentive. The beds were very hard though, we woke up with body aches the next day. Other than that everything was clean, tidy and neat in the cabin. Fully air conditioned. The drive up to the cabin can be challenging, single lane traffic on narrow and winding roads going up hill.

A must do Hotel in Taroko”

Right in the gorge with amazing views, great dinner & breakfast included, learn the indigenous culture

There is nowhere like this Hotel anywhere inside the gorge to investigate the indigenous culture, to gaze at the gorge views and take walks through a pristine environment. The rooms are duplex style, quirky, large and clean with good facilities. The large set menu provided in the room rate was fantastic. The cultural performance is actually a couple of demonstrations of their wooden instruments followed by a 40min movie. Most enjoyable stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel and we really liked it. The view from the hotel was breath-taking. The staff were helpful and patiently giving us advice for our trip arrangement and explained us the ways to get to the attractions that we planed to visit. Dinner was delicious. By the mountain side”

Beautiful view, need transport upto to the hotel reception if you have heavy bags as it is located up a hill. Public bus only drops you off at the bottom of the hill. There is a staircase going to the hotel lobby. Fresh mountainside air with good food buffet for breakfast and dinner. The local performance was too long I would rather watch it for 30 minutes at the most. Take bus public bus to reach the hikes.

Leader Village - excellent place to stay in Taroko National Park with CAVEAT”

We stayed at Leader Village for 3 nights in January 2018. Hotel very charming, bucolic, surrounded by hills and vegetation. Rooms are built like little bungalows scattered all over the property joined by walking paths. It's the best place to stay in the park if you can get a room. Staff speaks English, friendly, helpful and goes out of their way to help. Beds comfortable, room and bathroom are clean. Breakfast & dinner included with room rate and both excellent featuring some local food of the Aborigines. Every evening there's a wonderful show that educates about and demonstrates pride in the Aboriginal heritage. The CAVEAT - rooms are not heated during winter though the beds come with mattress heater - a life saver. Taiwanese winter is damp and cold, an unheated room is very miserable. Impossible to spend time in room. Wish hotel offers space heaters. 3 night stay likely too long, 1 to 2 nights likely better. No table in room only low table requires sitting on floor.

    Reviewed January 17, 2018

We will thanks for you stay our hotel for 3 nights. May be you can try to old Zhuliu road next time, and you will not feel too long for stay 3 nights. We are sorry that we just can serve electric blanket on the bed only, because and the heated are dangerous for the wooden cabins.

Beautiful surroundings in a cheerful hotel”

Step out of your room and be greeted with a gorgeous view. Also, I love how the cabins are arranged around a large central lawn. The rooms facilities are well-made and fairly clean but a little rough-around-the-edges with age. Staff are cheerful and helpful. We appreciated the cultural show but it may be too long for most guests, especially those who don’t speak Mandarin.
