Great location”
We took the train to Hualien from Taipei and, while most hotels in Hualien are heading towards the beach, picked Tau Tau Chu for its close proximity to the train and bus station as we knew we would be arriving later in the evening. Bcause it is close to transport we were able to get to the bus station easily the next day to go to Taroko National Park for sightseeing. The room was large, had good hot water and most mod cons. Breakfast was a buffet of local and western (with local being the best). The staff had reasonable English skills and were even able to help with some of our Mandarin. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Lovely hotel near train station”
The Business Triple we stayed at was very spacious for a family with 2 kids. This hotel is located just 5 mins walk from the back exit of the Hualien train station. It is a quiet place, away from the hassle of Hualien town. The hotel staff are very pleasant and friendly.

Small but clean rooms”
the location is slightly further than ideal for walking from hualien main train station. however, the hotel offers an optional service of ferrying occupants to and from hualien main train station, which is good. occupants should also expect a taxi ride of approximately 15 minutes to the city centre from the hotel. the staff are generally friendly, especially the elderly owners of the hotel if you are fluent in the hokkien dialect. the room was a little smaller than expected but the level of cleanliness is acceptable.

Hotel looks old. I stayed there for 2 days, breakfast not much choice, porridge everyday. However, staffs are friendly there. I asked if I can chk-out around 2pm instead of 12noon, guess what? Answer: Yes! I didn't have to pay extra. I must say to have a room with such a cheap rate but good service, for me is worth staying there. If 10-15mins walking distance from train station to the hotel doesn't bother you, you can consider, too.

the destination is not convenience because if u walk to the night market is a bit far and you need to take cab to the hua lien town night market and it cost about twd. but the room is clean and the breakfast is nice.

5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes bicycle ride to the night market to have cheap food. The bed was too soft and there were not many variety of food.

It is not very far away from the train station. it was quite cheap and it was it main benefit. But might be an option if you just sleep there and the rest of the time you are in the Gorge
