Perfect place to stay when climbing Adam's Peak
I was really warmly greeted by the host, who was above and beyond hospitable and friendly. Bc I was staying alone and planned to climb Adam's Peak in the morning, she introduced me to another solo traveler, which worked out fabulously! The rooms are new and each is uniquely decorated (simplistic) and very clean and comfortable. The hotel is a 7 minute stroll to the start of the Adam's Peak climb. Would absolutely stay here again! Great value, great location, great hostess and delicious breakfast!

Can not recommend hotel
The hotel was a disappointment. We booked what was advertised in Agoda as "Super Delux Room with Breakfast". When we arrived at the hotel the staff told us that we should pay extra for the breakfast. An unpleasent discussion was required until the staff agreed to waive the costs for the breakfast. In addition the bathroom was not particular clean (mold, dirty rugs etc.). We had stayed in several hotels in Sri Lanka and we had much better accomondations for the same money. I will not book the hotel again.

Shocking service and food.
They wanted our dinner order at 6pm but said we'd decide at 7pm. Waited an hour and a half for soup, then main was delivered 30 minutes later and was inedible. Breakfast was served fast and good, but dinner was a total disaster. When we placed our order for dinner, we were the only guests (3) in the restaurant , so no excuses. Very disappointed.

English style house, amazing view, average room.
View, location, food
Staff tried v hard and were polite and attentive, it's a good location, it's an old English style house so don't expect a new hotel. The view is the best the the town, we walked around and checked out about 8 hotels and this was clearly the best. Above the restaurant it has a rooftop viewing platform which was great for the sunset. They grow their own vegetables and we had a great carrot curry which was from the garden. I'm not one of those travelers that expects a super clean flawless place but some minor points.. The doona cover insert hole was underneath where your body is and most of the buttons were broken so when I woke up I was swimming around in the doona. Also the sheets didn't really fit the bed so we were coming into contact with the mattress, clumsy stuff from them really. For the price we probably agreed with the 7.3 rating online.

Rooms ok, common areas very shabby, bad wifi,,
Good breakfast in dining room with incredible views, bathrooms had been renovated
Incredibly shabby common areas, not enough blankets for cold nights, very bad wifi reception in room. Room was okay especially renovated bathrooms. Very overpriced for quality of hotel. Location was an easy walk to Victoria Park and the central city.
