Amazing Tea Bungalow! Delicious Food & Wonderful staff!”
Exceptional stay at Tea Hills Bungalow. Location is in Hatton and not Nuwara Eliya city but definitely worth the extra miles to travel to. It’s located amidst a tea plantation, so you have really beautiful view of the greeneries. The place was perfect, room for 3 pax was big, comfy and spacious. Loved the huge bathroom with the claw foot bathtub and scenic view of the tea plantation. They even have a fireplace out on the balcony and a living room with comfy sofas. Food was amazing (ask for less salt) and freshly cooked. Especially loved the Sri Lankan style baked rice with chicken which tasted amazing and worth the one hour wait to cook them. Best of all were the staff (esp. Steve & Rahul) who were so prompt and helpful. Perfectly arranged our day trips to Horton Plains and nearby areas. They even provide wifi! They made our stay truly memorable with all the little surprises at the end of our stay. Definitely worth staying!

Ideal hotel in tea plantation area”
Make sure you include the "tea country" in a tour of Sri Lanka, it really is a "must do". This hotel, which is about 4 hours drive from Colombo airport, is a great place to stay. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The deluxe double room was clean, very spacious and traditionally furnished. Four poster beds with mosquito nets and good air conditioning make for a very comfortable night's sleep. There is a nice communal seating area and balcony to enjoy views over the tea plantation (or a private balcony in the rooms). A good served breakfast (especially the freshly baked cakes!) and evening meal. My son enjoyed playing basketball and badminton. Within about 30 mins drive of the hotel are two waterfalls (St Clairs and Devon falls) with wonderful views. Hatton is a great place to start the train journey to Nuwara Eliya and Ella and continue your tour of Sri Lanka...

Extremely Satisfied”
Staying at Tea Hills Bungalow was a memorable experience. From the moment we stepped in we were impressed by their service, commitment and attention to details. They only allow one family at a time therefore my wife and I had the whole place to ourselves. It was our own private bungalow. The bungalow is very clean and the rooms very comfortable. Homemade food prepared by the Chef is delicious. The surrounding tea estates offer a beautiful view from the balcony. Two waterfalls - Devon and St. Clair - are close by so don't forget to visit them. I would recommend this bungalow to anyone without any haste.

Best Breakfast Balcony View In Tea Country”
We rolled into Hatton after 9 p.m., following a 7 hour drive through the mountains thanks to bad advice from a Frenchman, Tea Hills Bungalow was marked wrong on google maps BUT the staff drove into town, met us, guided us back, prepared us a late curry dinner, and really went out of their way to make us comfortable after a long tiring day. If you like an attentive staff you will love this place. Breakfast in the morning was very good and the view was literally like looking out over a magical movie set. The room wasn't the largest we had in Sri Lanka for the price but very comfortable.

Lovely Boutique Hotel”
We had a very pleasant stay at Tea Hills Bungalow. Right from our arrival the staff were attentive, friendly and extremely polite. The rooms were just lovely with great views and very comfortable beds. The other facilities - lounge room, bathrooms and deck area were well appointed and very pleasant. The food provided was just delicious and there was lots of it!!! We enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea and scones and dinner was beyond fabulous! We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings but if you are looking for more than fantastic views and comfort this might be a little quiet for you!

Exceptional”
We had a great stay at Tea Hills Bungalow. The surrounding landscape is incredibly beautiful, although it was pouring rain we enjoyed our two nights. The staff were very helpful, we arrived very late at night and they upgraded our room. Because of the rain we couldn't climb Adams Peak, so the staff recommended and organized white water rafting, which was great fun. Food at the restaurant was very good too. Only downside was the hot water ran out quickly.

Exceptional”
Really enjoyed my stay here - the facilities and the room were brilliant. All the food we had was delicious and the staff we really helpful. We were shown their vegetable garden and the surrounding tea plantations. It's a really beautiful location and not too far from Hatton train station. Would definitely recommend.

Warm Welcome with EXCELLENT SERVICE”
We were warmly welcomed by Team Tea Hills, they all genuinely helpful and nice. They did our laundry super fast (and nicely) and arranged a delightful driver/tour guide within an hour. 5 Star service. The room was big, but too much / wrong kind of furniture; 2 big beds great, wine rack and extra chase lounge (unnecessary) what was needed was a large flat surface for working (everyone works on laptops these days, 2 people = 2 laptops) plus REAL FAST RELIABLE WiFI. More places to hang things (so they get fresh air) like backpacks shirts, dresses, and all the other items we do not want on the bed or floor... and screens on the windows to keep the bugs out. I live in Florida so am used to bugs and lizards no worries but flies and mosquitoes are NO GOOD anywhere, get screens on windows. I'm sure they will fix these (they are all easy fixes) as everything else was lovely, the food tasty and the staff so helpful!

Peaceful boutique hotel in the tea fields”
We loved our stay here and extended our stay after initially having booked only one night. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The staff are the friendliest, kindest people you will meet and were so helpful. The rooms are stunning with huge bathrooms with good hot showers, comfy beds and stunning views over the tea fields. We ate dinner at the hotel one night which was very good and reasonably priced. We also got a tuk tuk back to the train for a very good price. We can recommend this place from the bottom of our hearts!

Romantic Tea Bungalow in the middle of tea”
From welcome to check out excellent and very attentative service. We (a couple) had the entire bungalow for ourselves with the staff always in reach. The balcony was really romantic with a nice sofa and fantastic tea panorama. The fotos of the house looked a little dodgy but that was absolutely not the case when we got there. Everything was just amazing. It is also a great venture point for Adam's peak as it only took around 1hr to get there by car.

Not in Nuwara Elyia”
The biggest issue was that the hotel, of which booking.com description says Nuwara Eliya turend out to be in Hatton which is more then 1 hour drive from Nuwara Eliya. There is nothing to see or do in Hatton, much better if you go out of Nuwara you go to Ella. When I realised when in Nuwara it was too late to change and the staff tried hard to make up for it but well they tried very hard, but the fish for diner was far overcooked and chewy and the massage I oculdn't use because it was closed by the time arrived and closed still before my departure...in any case, Hatton is nothing to see and the tea hills bungalow nothing special to get there all the way, although as said the staff is really nice.

a pleasant mistake”
Firstly, it's very difficult to find as the pin drop is wrong. Access road is in a poor condition and the rooms are small and dark, generally the place looks like it needs more furniture and brightening up. The food is excellent and plentiful and they even made us a picnic for our trip to Adam's peak. I would have expected proper coffee not nescafe. Very helpful people and a good location for touring to Nuwara Eliya and Adams Peak.

Simply Outstanding”
This place deserves a full 10 - perfect staff, perfect room and facilities and exceptional food! I can’t recommend this place highly enough - the best place to stay in Hatton without a doubt. Will definitely return. Thank you Yogesh and team.

Fantastic location, friendly staff and lovely room.”
We arrived at this hotel and were met with a warm reception and a cool drink. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was amazing and presented so nicely. Pool was cold, but then it is in the hills. The setting of the hotel is spectacular. Verandas on either side of the hotel allowed us to see both sunrise and sunset as well as a lovely view of the night sky. Lots of wild life and beautiful gardens. I just wished we had stayed for more than one night. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet stay with attentive staff and lovely food.

Not quite a 'tea bungalow' but pleasant enough.”
We were expecting more of a 'tea estate manager's bungalow' which it certainly is not as it is in the rather unattractive town of Hatton. However after our initial doubts we settled into an enjoyable stay similar to a bed + breakfast 'Tamil style' with genuine SL food and courtesy.

Nice tea garden view, delicious food”
They upgraded our room to nice tea garden view room. Clean room and friendly stuff. The chef cooked based on what you would like to eat, although 12 USD is a bit expensive, but food is delicious. But watch out you have to communicate very carefully, we wanted stir fried potato but turned out to be deep fried potato chips-althought taste not bad.
