About Ten Hill Place

Description

Located in a quiet Georgian Square in the city center, Ten Hill Place is within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions including The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and Princes Street. The hotel features a restaurant offering an a la carte menu available each evening and a wine bar serving lighter snacks and an exclusive selection of wines supplied by Corney & Barrow, spirits, and locally produced beers. The guestrooms are a palette of calming colors and textures. Personal safes, irons, ironing boards, hairdryers, and a hospitality tray are provided in every room. The beds are with allergy-free duvets and pillows to compliment a great night’s sleep. Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire hotel. Opened in November 2006, Ten Hill Place is owned by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. It was created from the combination of an existing Georgian building, previously the Postgraduate Residence of the College, with a stylish yet sympathetic new development. All of the hotel’s profits are invested back into the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh to provide education and assessment for medical students, surgical trainees, and consultants who in turn bring life-saving and life-changing skills to all corners of the globe. The hotel’s credentials include the gold award in Green Business Tourism, Eco Hotel of the Year in 2010, and Green Hotel of the Year 2012. Ten Hill Place prides itself in living up to these standards at all times.

Great Room!
Great! Simply Great for an affordable price! Hotel management knows their differences compared to other city hotels, and they are trying their best to cover up those differences. The room was wonderful with all the amenities provided with regard to its price. Layout of the room was good too, not too narrow, and the wide bathroom. Also the view from the windows was open and freshing. Making you feel that you are in Edinburgh. Good Wi-Fi as well. Breakfast is same in every and each hotel, traditional scottish. Lifts were reliable and quick. It might seem a little further up the city centre compared to others but actually just 7 mins walk and we were on The mile end. Car parking is limited, but the street is available until 8:30 in the mornings. Only few stains in the bathtub is the negative thing we could say. The toileteries were wonderful btw. I wouldn't think for a minute if I 'd go to Edinburgh again.

Friendly welcome and a great sized well equipped room. Everything we needed and more, with a good, traditional Scottish breakfast. Only criticism would be slight confusion over bill, although was pre-paid. Easily resolved.
