Although this hotel may not be the best in "value for money", it is still nice to stay in this hotel as the location is quite good, with just 5 - 7 minutes' walk to Okayama station. The room is clean and has decent bathroom cum toilet. By the way, the linen which the hotel is using is "too soft" and can not support my back... I personally prefer "harder" linen that is more supportive. If you care about the linen, please take this into consideration.
Spotless Hotel with Onsen”
Very clean, affordable hotel with fast check-in, great onsen in the hotel, latest big Digital TV but I couldn't do the Mirroring with my Android phone after many times restart. Bigger bed compare to usual hotel in Japan, it will be perfect if the location nearer to station. Its quite a walk if you carry luggage, need to pass by the big Aeon Mall. Good for one pax, or two pax with one luggage only, as there is no space to open another one in the room.
Good Hotel in Central Okayama”
good facilities, especially the public bath house which is rare for hotels. used it everyday. rooms and bathrooms are small though, typical of the cram tokyo rooms.
clean and tidy room”
The room was not big enough as my luggage could just be opened within the limited space. The bed was quite comfortable. There is a USB plug at the head of the bed which is quite convenient for charging phone battery. The window was easily opened which made my room more ventilated. There is a big TV on the wall and information about the hotel facilities and local attractions is provided which is quite useful.
Worst hotel we have stayed so far! Staff were not helpful and not responsible There were only eight parking spaces and the staff failed to tell us another Hotel carpark with their poor English Room was dirty and old Not recommended APAhotels!
There is a large shopping mall near the hotel, it is very convenient, but the weather is warm in recent days. The hotel room is only heated and not air-conditioned. It is very difficult to get into sleep, and there is only a big cockroach in the room!
Good hotel with surprise”
The hotel is not as close to the JR Okayama station as I expected. It takes 10 minutes by walk approximately. There is no convenience store next to the hotel, which was disappointing. Yet, there is an AEON mall and Don Quijote department store next to the hotel. There is a huge number of restaurants in the AEON mall on 6/F and 7/F which opens until 10PM. The Sega game centre opens until 11PM. Don Quijote opens until 2AM. Visitors will never feel bored. The hotel room is small as expected in other APA hotels. Yet, surprisingly, there is an onsen on 2/F North Wing in the hotel. This was not stated in the website. The onsen was comfortable. Overall speaking, it is recommended if you have to travel to the Sanyo area. Okayama is convenient to travel to Hiroshima and Osaka by Shinkansen and to San'in area and Shikoku area by other JR express trains.
Without "Non smoking" means "smoking"?”
I booked a room marked with "single". I am not sure whether it is smoking or non smoking. so I add a additional request for non-smoking. However when I arrived the hotel, staff told me that I booked a smoking room. I show the staff the Agoda.com app that I did request for non-smoking room. Bargained for long time, finally provide me a non-smoking room as they told me all non-smoking room are full at the beginning. Beside that the hotels is at great location. Close to Aeon Mall and walkable to JR station but you will get wet when raining. The Hotels is under construction a new wing is building next to the hotel.
Clean room and well function but... ”
It is MUST to have convenience store by by but you have to walk for 7-8 min. Also some distance from Okayama station airport limousine station. Meanwhile, the room features are very nice even the room is small. 40 inch TV (can see BBC), VOD, Free Wifi, small fridge, green tee, Japanese night wear, and toiletry items, such as toothbrush, razor, hair calm/brush. You also can see the lots of AC outlet (A-type) and USB power outlet for charge your smartphones. For me it was okay.
No one in reception counter”
I need to leave my luggage but nobody in their
Excellence! will stay again next time.
The hotel is not safe for solo traveller”
I was checked in room 323 on Nov 20 but my room door was opened on Nov 21 when I was having shower, I immediately telephone to tell the receptionist but she don't understand my English and my Japanese. When I slept for about 20 minutes, my room's light black out, I woke up and turned on the light again. Although nothing happened that night, I returned the hotel on Nov 22 in the evening, I found my room door opened again. I complained to the front desk staff and they finally change the room for me.
Not worth the money”
I totally understand the common size of Japanese hotel room, but this hotel is to stuffy. With its dated furniture, small window, limited service from staffs, I doubt I will return to stay. It's not that close to Okayama station, and not situated in the interesting area. I preferred other hotels (I stayed in other nights) located near the canal.
Base hotel to Tokushima and other areas of Shikoku”
Clean and simple hotel. Quite old looking but still acceptable. This hotel was cheap relatively in Japan. So you can use this as a base hotel to/from Shikoku island. For us we went to Tokushima around 2hrs one way.
A great bargain!”
I stayed a week in Japan, and my stay at APA Hotel in Okayama was by far my best experience. The room is quite large by Japanese standards and it's just a quick walk from JR Okayama Station. When you leave the central exit (towards the foundation), hang a right and walk straight until you see the hotel on the right (it's on a corner). The bed was extremely comfortable and there was free Wi-fi that actually worked! When I inquired about renting a bicycle, they knew right where to point me to. I would definitely recommend a stay here; we are a couple but I saw many families checking in when I was there. :)
Like sleeping in a cloud, 8 minute walk to station”
My friend and I stayed in APA Okayama for one night over the Halloween weekend. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Check out time is 11am. The hotel is on a quiet street an 8 minute walk from the station. The absolute best part of the stay was the bed. My friend and I both agreed that the beds were crazy comfortable. The hotel is located close enough to Saiwaicho (the young hip area) to make it easy to reach restaurants, clubs and bars, but, thankfully, quiet enough for serious snooze time. Okayama pro-tip: Use the green rental bikes near Hotel Granvia near the station to get around the city.
We booked 2 rooms. My friend's room had a problem of the sound of cicada. They said the noise of cicada start at 05:00am which is annoying.
If temperature can be adjusted in the room, it would be the best
Decent Hotel but slightly cramped”
Excellent service from staff, hotel is about 10-15mins walk from JR Okayama Station.
The bed is too soft and the hotel is a bit old
Really good for a man/woman individually traveling
10 minutes to okayama station”
Near AEON mall and Donki Quijote. Convenient location for shopping and transportation. Value for money.
Not too far from station, walking path is good”
A little quiet and dark at late night when walking back
several minutes walk to train station. very conveniently located though kind of old fashioned.
good location, nice staff”
near JR station, room is clean, staff is nice
Very nice hotel”
Very nice hotel
Just 10 mins from the station”
The price is affordable, but noted that the room is kind of small
Excellent location with car park”
The room is large and with carpark, and it is near shopping mall
If you have a more flexible budget you should consider a double room as the semi-double room is just about half the size. It will be hard to move inside a semi-double room and you also need to arrange your belongings wisely to fit in the limited space. Though you ask for a non-smoking room, the air inside the room is just as if somebody is smoking by you. You have to take that or leave for another hotel. The train station is within 15 minutes' walk and Aeon store is just on the other side of the street. In terms of price, service and convenience, this hotel is worth staying for a short period of time.
i was disappointed with apa front desk staff wasnt as nice as cheaper hotels. plus there was a hair in the sink and a hair on the shower head. gross. there is no public computer ... will never stay at apa hotels again as there are cleaner and cheaper options in japan
Ok-ish, you can do much better”
We booked a twin non-smoking room, but were upgraded to another room. Can't tell you which type, but it was huge for Japanese standards. Large floor to ceiling windows, sitting area, big beds. Still everything was old, bathroom was so,so, carpet on the floor was old, I wouldn't recommend it.
Good mid-range business hotel close to the station”
Very clean mid-range Japanese hotel, good amenities, small rooms, very new, with great wi-fi and very professional staff. It's right by the JR station so there are plenty of dining options and the sights are not too far away from the hotel either. Recommended to both businessmen or travellers.
Business Hotel with springy mattress”
the no frills business hotel is japanese standard, only the mattress which proved uncomfortable because of the springs and the somewhat loud air conditioning made staying here only a little less than perfect.
Building is run down”
Cheap but building is and room condition is run down.
value for money”
in general it is a good hotel, always not disappointed with APA series
- Clean and decent room - About 10 minutes walk from the JR station but most of the journey is covered (via underground/shopping mall).
The hotel was old and there's smell from the toilet in all the three rooms we stayed at.
The location is convenience and staff is willing to help.
Clean and tidy”
The Room is clean and tidy And it's convenient (there is a big shopping mall nearby)
Good,wish breakfast was included
The hotel is very good for me,save price and clean room.
Origami cranes are a nice touch”
I stayed in a single room but it was very spacious and the bed was more like a double. Excellent value for money.
Comfortable and Clean”
Graet location, clean and fantastic service.”
Fantastic service! Room was a reasonable size for Japan and clean as a whistle. Would recommend to tourists and business people.
close to JR Station, good location. nice staff and”
Good location, just next to the train station and Aeon mall. Value for money. Room is clean and new
untidy and no shower 最悪”
The bedsheets are not clean. Some brown spots were found. Worse still, the shower was very weak. Water flew in drops and not hot at all.
counter clerk no English”
Counter clerk, They don't speak English at all
standard APA hotel”
The room was quite tiny (not strange here in japan) but tidy and clean and with everything one can need
8 mins walk from JR station, it is longer than expected! Only one socket in the room. Air conditioner could not be switched on, only warmer was available even feeling hot in the room.
Average good. Need a clearer map to show the way.”
Average good. Although the first room has some dirt in toilet, a new room is re-arranged quickly. It will be good to have a clearer map to show the way.
Value for money”
Room is ok lan cable in room service is good
Wonderfully close to the train station”
