Staff had an attitude and were not friendly, mostly the admin and management. The cleaners and buggy drivers were nice. We had an issue with delayed buggies pick up throughout the whole trip. Which meant a frustrating wait in the villas. When we called the reception they were hostile and gave silly excuses. The buggy was delayed once for over 30 minutes and the manager told us it was because they had to drive slow and dodge the leaves on the ground. I asked the buggy driver and they said no such instruction was given to them. Just one example of multiple disappointing interactions.
Awesome luxurious vacation of a lifetime!!”
One of my best experience I ever had. The resort is incredible with a breathtaking view from the villa. They have amazing beaches which you can visit during your stay! Even though the Hotel is surrounded by nature but fills with lots of activities that you can join e.g. spa, beach activities and many more. and don't skip breakfast because here serve the best breakfast!!!!
Great holiday retreat”
Great luxury retreat with good staff and facilities. Beach though beautiful had very high currents making it difficult to swim. Only downside was even though the resort was almost empty my request for a late check out even with Accor silver membership looked like a very difficult ask and I was given 2 hrs extension . With no activity around and at the other end of the town the last day of our visit was not great .
My wife and I enjoyed a magical getaway at this fantastic hotel. First, the setting and facilities are beautiful. The hotel blends with the natural tropical/jungle setting, the villas are hidden and private, and you often feel like you are the people at the entire resort. Every staff member was exceedingly friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The Saffron restaurant served some of the best Thai food we've ever had outside of Thailand and Lamar was also excellent. Other reviews had prepared us that food/drink options on the resort were relatively expensive, and they weren't wrong (Snacks/lunch dishes are ~$20, dinner for two at one of the nice restaurants is ~$150). Only other suggestion is that if you are visiting for a few days and enjoy snorkeling, bring your own gear. The hotel had 1-2 snorkels on a first-come, first-serve basis but only four pairs of XL flippers and limited other recreation equipment other than free bikes that you can use to cruise a
lux hotel good to go to more than once!”
good- seychelle has a lot of bugs since it is a island. but banyantree has controlled it well. no bugs buggind you. room condition is well organized and its private pool is well suited for families having babies (ofcourse it severs pretty good romentic mood for couples as well.). and the best thing we were so impressed was the beddings. it gives relexation to your body. once I lay down on the bed, the time goes elimited soon. we had to figure what the bed was consisted of. bad- I really did not have idea why the beach front villas are more expensive, but its becouse of the location. see-view villas are located very far from everything, so we had to take a buggy car when we would like to go wherever. ofcourse, the buggy men were very nice, but it was pretty uncomfotable (we had to wait the buggy more than 5min. after ask to pick us up. and we needed to give them to tip whenever we called them(even it was not dutiful.)). And the staff are so nice, but they are not time funtual.
Fantastic location for couples”
We had a wonderful stay at the Banyan Tree; lovely hotel on a beautiful beach. Very relaxing environment, great staff friendly and helpful. The spa is wonderful, would highly recommend this for a couple looking to relax, recharge and get a tan!
Stunning hotel and locatio ”
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the ocean view villas provide complete and utter privacy with breathtaking views of the ocean. The food was also great and it seemed like the hotel had a lot to offer in terms of activities on site. My only negative comment would be the service could do with some improvement given how much it costs to stay at such hotel and the staff should be proactive about letting you know the schedule of activities and attractions rather than try and sell you overpriced spa packages at check in!
Good: Nice beach here. I would say it is the top1 beache in Mahe I have visited. The sea just like crystal! And it was so awesome to enjoyed the breakfast sitting in front of such beatifull sea! Staffs are nice, the private swim pool in villa is large. Not good: The facilities are old, and something wrong with our hot water. The water became cold during the shower. And there are something wrong with the shower rose as well. No towers laying before bathtub. It is easy to slip.
Banyan Tree is in the southern part of Seychelles. It's a 30-45 minutes drive from the airport away. The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet and romantic holiday. The hotel villas are awesome. We stayed at villa 206 which is the Sanctuary Ocean View Pool Villa, also called the presidential villa on the island. It was just awesome! 5 stars for this hotel. I haven't had so much privacy so far. The villa was big with a private swimming pool and warm Jacuzzi outside. BBQ area, outdoor shower and out door living room. Fantastic!!! The view was stunning and the walk to the beach was less than 2 minutes. The breakfast was great, stuff was always friendly and helpful. The beach was white & soft and the water was crystal blue. Just the perfect place to be if you want to escape from crowded places. BUT bear in mind that it was very quiet. There is a bar and 2 restaurants in the main building. Also a public pool which we didn't use. We went in August and the waves were quite high. Red flags all the time at the beach and no life guards. You can go inside the water but it was not good for snorkeling. You can't see any boats, jet skies or any other thing at the beach. It's like in "Cast Away". We stayed there 5 days and it was enough. The weather was good during that time. Small minus points, the wifi was available at the villa but not in every corner and the signal was weak. The drinks are expensive, check out the super market 20 minutes food walk away ;) Well it's an exclusive Hotel and obviously food and drinks have the same premium, so I do not complain about this. The massages are awesome as well at a perfect location on the hill! Additionally, we arrived at 8am in the morning and our departure time was at 6pm in the evening. Upon our arrival, the villa was ready and we could check-in! And on the last day we could stay that long without any extra charges. First time I experienced this. This was really a nice gesture from them. All in all, a perfect holiday exp
The best one in the staff is jemes
The receptionist are ok but I believe there are bed bugs. Our body are for mosquitoes or bed bugs. ”
After cleaning the room, they don't placed towels and room has cockroaches. After wake up in the morning, our body has many marks of insect bites. Tour reservation has made thru hotel, but no boucher issued to us and we almost can not have tours. As 5 star hotel, they need to improve more as a sevice part, disinfecting rooms. Hotels are nice but not my next choice due to aboved matters.
uncomfortable staffs attitude”
They seemed to avoid talking to asian people. Even the staffs working in the resturant didnt ask the basic questions like water or coffee. But others(definately white people) came in and they went the table serveral times and asked "how are you", "coffee?" "breakfast menu" "hows food". I have stayed for 2 days and had bf 2 times. But they didnt ask me like that. So i kept watching the sttafs attitude and found out how different they were. I needed to ask them my coffee! And when i finished my meal, one staff came over and asked the bf menu such as a omlet. Wow. The others who came later than me had already had their own meals. It was awful. I paid lots of money there, but their treatment was horrible. Very disappointed. (I stayed in raffles/acoju/cerf island resort) banyan tree was the worst one. Never visit again. ever.
Idyllic stay for honeymoon ”
We had an amazing time in Banyan Tree. Perfect picturesque location, best breakfast views ever. Long and mostly empty beach Anse Intendance with quite some waves is maybe not that great for swimming but amazing for walking along and just jumping in the water next to the shore. And for fabulous pictures. We had our wedding ceremony at the beach and it was the fairytale experience. Couldn’t have picked up a better spot. The territory of the hotel is huge, we had nice walks to the breakfast and used the buggy rides for dinners. Our hill top villa had an amazing ocean view (a little bit sideways but still great). I would definitely recommend hillside villas for their astounding ocean views. All the villas are built in a pretty colonial style, are comfortable and clean. Private infinity pool is just fabulous. Very friendly helpful staff. Best breakfast buffet we had in Seychelles (and we stayed in several more 5 star hotels). The 3 restaurants offer a wide menu, always something for everyone. Frankly I didn’t like the Thai one, but maybe it was just the bad choice if dish. The wild nature sanctuary deserves a praise. Friendly staff and unforgettable time with giant turtles. I wish we went there every day of our stay! Would never expect turtles to be so friendly and affectionate! Amazing experience, total must go. We will definitely return for one of our wedding anniversaries!
We stayed in a Sanctuary Villa, which was magnificent. We knew before hand that the beach is too rough for swimming (please check dates before booking if this is important) so no problems there and the setting is absolutely stunning. Truly one of the most dramatic beaches in the Seychelles. The food in all restaurants was excellent and the staff could not try any harder to please. There are some bad reviews and either they are unrealistically picky or this place has improved allot. Either way no hesitation in recommending it.
Too many lizards and insects in the room and surrounding the room
Beautiful Rooms and Views but Can't Swim”
We came for our honeymoon to Seychelles and stayed in Banyan Tree and loved the place. Positives: The villa was amazing with its own outside portion and plunge pool. The view of the ocean from it was amazing. The receptionist, buggy drivers, cleaners and staff were all very friendly and helpful and made our honeymoon great. The views from breakfast were amazing. Negatives: The plunge pool in the room is not heated but still swimmable. But the real let down was that the beach (even though very beautiful ) ! You could not go in the water because it was too rough. The hotel is far from other hotels/beaches so you have to eat in the restaurants inside unless you take a cab or rent a car. The free yoga class offered was very average (as assessed by my wife who is professional Yoga teacher)
Fantastic stay at Banyan Tree Seychelles”
Had a wonderful time at Banyan Tree Seychelles. Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Property was beautiful with gorgeous beach. Villas were great and staff was exceptional. Food was excellent and the quantity we got with each meal was almost too much to finish! One of the nicest touches was the Manager's reception the night of our arrival. where complementary food and drinks were served, but the nicest part was the personal introduction we received from not only the manager but also the head chef and several other head employees. Overall one of the best properties we have ever stayed at. It can be pricey but we got a fantastic rate on Agoda which included breakfast and dinner that was well worth every penny. Can't wait to go back!
Lovely honeymoon at Banyan tree”
We stayed here for one week on our honeymoon. This is a beautiful place for couples. Very nice views in the morning when you eat breakfast...Nice Villas and very clean too. The pool at the private Villa had very cold water thought. Everything was perfect only one big minus was, that this hotel is so far away from any restaurants, that you will need to rent a car, if you want to do something else than be at the hotel. Banyan Tree has 2 restaurants - one for lunch, and one for the evening. The food is VERY expensive. Lunch around 30 euros per person, and dinner starting from 100 euros per person. So this will not be a budget hotel. :)
Beautiful location of the İsland ”
We almost liked everything hotel ambiance, special complimentary that brings to our room every day,our villa, location, beach, see and infinity pool. But after our coming day our money is stolen from our villa. That was so sad and disappointing thing for me.I could not estimate such a thing that happened. We didn’t lock the door 2 days. And it happened. If you stay to the villa don’t forget to lock the door when you go out or go to beach. It may be our fault but we trusted to security.Hope they pay more attention now on to their guest rooms unlocked. And hope they find soon this guy.By the way It was such a clever thief that he/she just took our dollar banknote as 100(totally 600$)and didn’t take the full amount. If it was not taken from both wallets ,we couldn’t not aware of the money is stolen!
Difficult for less abled”
In common with many Seychelles properties it is built into rocky hills. Sadly there are stairs everywhere & no ramps. Buggies take you to reception , well leave you to climb 10 steps up & 20 odd down to get to restaurant . Staff will do much to help but we did take all meals but breakfast in villa. Not that that is a hardship as beach villa was fantastic. So much space, jacuzzi, lap pool, daybed, pavilion, loungers on deck & beach. Dated in some ways but colonial style main building is lovely. Their work supporting wetlands and threatened turtles is to be applauded also. Sea is a tad rough but 1 of most beautiful beaches in Seychelles.
