Old-fashioned with good old fashioned values”
My friend and spent a week at Biyadoo Island resort and really enjoyed it. The location and the house reef were just amazing. Many resorts brought their guests to this house reef for snorkelling. The fish were amazing. Saw Green Sea Turtles, octopus, starfish, eagle ray and many many kinds of colourful, pretty reef fish. The corals are dead but slowly seem to be regenerating. Food was plentiful and quite varied. Fresh fruits and salads were excellent. Only the desserts did not taste as good as they looked. Staff was efficient and the grounds were extremely well-tended. While not luxurious, it was more than adequate and very clean. Definitely recommended for family or friends.

Great bang for buck, resort has more of a jungle/organic feel rather than the manicured look which is more like the natural environment. If you're looking for raw luxury, keep looking. The buildings are a bit dated but very functional. Interesting to me was the number of dive boats even from more expensive resorts diving at the resort house-reef. Marine life was outstanding: sharks, turtles, all kinds of sport and reef fish to be seen. The team of nine chefs do a great job with meals. Both taste and presentation are outstanding. There are only two choices for the entree at lunch and dinner (which you decide on at breakfast), but in a week there was never a day where I was disappointed with my choice. Let them know if you want to try to local fare and they can make it happen. Fridays is local cuisine day. Highly recommended!

Excellent budget option for the Maldives. Diving is very good. Staff are wonderful. Rooms are dated but kept clean and in good order. Would definitely stay again.
