Neat and well organized room . . . ammenities perfectly matched what we're looking and booked for. It's a perfect value for money. Very strategically located, very near to all the places that we toured as well as stores, transfort and many others.
Like most of the posted review of this hotel, it is strategically located near Hakata station which makes it convenient to travel and visit places. Staff are nice, they clean the room daily. What I find odd is the hotel policy wherein you need to leave your keys at the front desk everytime you leave the hotel premises, coming back you just need to give your room number and your registered name. For me I think it poses a risk, there are instance when I am claiming my key then there are other guests / persons nearby the front desk or front desk area hearing my room number and full name as I provide it to the hotel staff. In general we enjoyed our stay, just manage your expectations room is ample enough for 2, tv only displays local channels, foreign channels are still in Japanese language.
Small for 2 pax, twin bed, cleaner than we expected”
we booked twin bed room (smoking) cuz non smoking room is fully booked. We are so afraid that we will cannot sleep but the room has no smell,(only the smell from outside comes in). The room is quite small I and mum cannot have enough space to open our lagguage and leave it. need to open, pick things out and close the lagguage and put in one corner. Toilet is a little bit small. hotel clean room and change towel everyday. One problem is the ask us to deosit the key everytime we go out.when we come back and want to get the key, lobby is full of checking in customer and we need to wait.
Location is near Canal City, Hakata Station, Tochoji Temple, Don Quijote. Room was small but ok for Asian couples. Wifi was pretty good. Restaurants were around the place. 7-11 was just beside the building. Pronto coffee shop was beside the entrance, but we didnt get to try as we are aiming for ramen 🍜😁 staff were nice. They speak clear English. They make up the room daily. Only local cable is available, this doesn’t matter as you are out all the time. They have available personal fridge but opening your window is much colder. 👍🏻 Faucet in the bathroom was loosened, could be because it’s old. Air-condition was fine. Overall, it was a very good experience 😊
The room smelled bad and the bedding was dirty.”
This hotel felt very old. The room smelled bad and the bedding was dirty. Close to Hakata Station, there are other hotels that are better than this distance. After smelling in the room and checking out, I used another hotel The staff were not friendly and recommend it to people who want to sleep at a cheap price.
Convenient & close to Hakata Station.”
Very near to Hakata Station, 1 minutes walk to Hakata Canal City, easy to use subway to Tenjin & airport line.
Good to stay one night for transfer”
Very cheap price, close to hakata station, have what a business hotel has. Would definitely stay again for a transportation transfer night
Convenient location ”
Canal city is 300m away which you can find all major stores inside,food/shopping/grocery all not an issue. The coin laundry is cheapa as well. Overall is pleasant stay.
Can be Better Hotel”
1. Rooms are way too small, bathroom very tiny. 2. Hotel sign does not stand out at all. 3. Dark color background minifies the building thus makes it unnoticeable. 4. Hard to read street address and street number.
The location was really good since it is located just a streetlight away from Canal City and a few meters from Hakata Station. The staff were really nice and they kept our luggages even after check-out. My only complain is that the room was really small that it was difficult to open our luggages. Also, my mom found it quite disturbing that the light for the toilet on our room was yellow. But other than that, this accomodation is quite a catch.
Great location hotel with old room”
Reasonable price for its location. Canal city just 5 minute away, and is also no so far from the Hakata station. However, the room is kind of old, while the facility is still usable. The bathroom is very small for a 175-cm man like me. Overall, it is good for people who just only go to the canal city in a short stay.
Walkable from Hakata Station, but practically next to Canal City”
The hotel is standard business hotel for Japan. Although the room felt dated, but it is comfortable. For the price, the room space is as expected. Staff are friendly and helpful. Basic facilities are adequate. The location is good, although those travelling afar need to walk a distance to Hakata station. Otherwise, it is just next to Canal CIty (for shopping), with bus stop to Tenjin (for more shopping). From Canal City, there are also yatai available for some local cuisine.
Just OK stay.”
I stayed here with a friend recently. I was a little disappointed. The outlet and AC control was placed directly on the wall at the head of the bed essentially underneath my friends pillow, so anything we plugged in kept getting unplugged on accident. A really inconvenient location for an outlet. The room was OK, but I thought it was a little strange that they ask you to return your key to the front desk when you leave to go out for the day. Probably would not stay here again if I was given the choice between this and another hotel/hostel.
Walking Distance to Hakata Station and very near Canal City. Room size is small but clean.
Good location for planning a half day trip around”
The room is small and old, guess we can’t demand much at downtown Fukuoka given our budget. Staff could speak English. Most are nice.. The room is actually quite stuffy. We travelled during February (WInter time) In Japan, the room only got heater instead of air-con. It feels stuffy with window closed; on the other hand, too cold with the window open. Anyway, poor ventilation did affect our sleep. The bright spot is the location. Though it takes 5 to 10 minutes walk to JR Hakata station （JR博多), it’s extremely close to Hakata Canal City （博多運河城）, and from there you could continue your journey through the Kushida Shrine （櫛田神社）and the Kawabata Shopping Arcaro (川端通商店街）,and then end with the exit of the Nakasukawabatashi station (中州川端站）. That could make for a half day trip already. To sum up, the location is all that matter for this hotel.
Nice location, cozy room.”
Personally, I really liked this place with awesome background music. (There's 'bgm' button to turn on the music.) It's bathroom was really tiny but okay for me to stay 1 night. Room was a bit small to unpack my suitcase. But good location, nice staffs.
I have been stay here for 3 nights with my friends and we have two reservations. I have been upgrade to the twin room when i did check in. The hotel is quite convience and it means you could go every attraction in this city. It's small but clean and you could find everything you might need here.
Very near Canal city, bus stop,Hakata station”
Next street is where Canal city located about 1 min walk, then 10 mins walk to Hakata station ,kushida shrine and tochoji temple, very small shower n toilet but clean rooms everyday , complete toiletries, lots of restaurants
Extremely small rooms ”
Even though the location says Ekimae(in front of station) its a fair hike to get there, the rooms are extremely small, we had trouble fitting our pram inside the door. Beds were nice as they had just renewed their mattresses. IT is however right across the road from canal city if thats your thing.
Near to hakata station”
Convenience place to stay
very strategic location...very clean...
room is very small
Very near canal city (shopping mall). Clean and tidy room. But a little bit small in size. Nice staff.
so good happy
This is a good choice if you are just after the proximity to Canal City Mall and Hakata Station”
A bit old hotel, no free bottled water, coffee and toilet and corridors can be smelly. Toilet bidet are not functioning properly sometimes. Offers regular cleaning but does not change the sheets as often as possible.
Location wise, this is a good choice considering its proximity to Canal City and Hakata station”
But this hotel is a bit old, no free bottled water and instant coffee. Toilet can be smelly sometimes and the sheets are not changed regularly though they do regular cleaning. Not really a value for money, since other hotels can offer better value, better amenities with freebies. I suggest you check nearby hotels like FP hotels or Mitsui Garden Hotels, Plaza Hotel etc.
Excellent ‘No Frills’ Hotel”
The staff are very welcoming and accomodating even though they speak little English. The hotel location is good, walking distance from Hakata Station and a minute away from The Canal Shopping Centre, the restaurant down below serves a minimal choice for breakfast but the staff are very accommodating and super nice. It’s ahighly recommended place for those looking for a. ‘ No frills’ budget holiday.
Aged hotel, especially bathroom..bad !”
Old fashioned style.. thats ok. But the bathroom is too aged and just killing.. needs repair / renovation (torn tubs with stains). Even local business hotels are better. Room pics are untrue, the breakfast isnt buffect but just a small set from a cafe., all wrong info from Agoda listing ! Cannot recommend at all.
Trip with Reasonable Price”
It was first time that I traveled to Japan Fukuoka. 1. Location : Located between Hakata and Gion station. Very close to Canal city too. Excellent. 2. Facilities : At 1B, you can use laundry service. Restaurant is in 1st floor. There is convenience store nearby too. 3. Etc : Some sounds occured Because of traffic lights nearby. (Morning to night)
Bedsheets smell like an ashtray and very noisy, yet good location”
Good location, but apart from that, everything is terrible. Room is extremely small (i am used to Japanese tiny room, but this room is EXTREMELY small!). I requested a non-smoking room, but room still smells like an ashtray. What's worse is that the bedsheets smell like one too! Besides, not too sure is it the 7-11 right next to the hotel or other shops, it has this very annoying music whether people walk into the shop, and it pretty much rings every 30 secs for the WHOLE NIGHT! i really dont recommend this hotel especially when its rates doubled/ tripled during weekends. You deserve a better stay, at least somewhere clean.
Very near Hakata Station and Canal City Hakata”
This hotel is conveniently located. It’s a walking distance from Hakata Station where transportations to different tourist spots can be found. It’s likewise near Canal City Hakata for one’s shopping needs. However, the hotel is very narrow. No space for your luggage.
not bad in hotel nearby Canal City”
It is a cheap place to use. Room is very narrow and looks like an old place, so I do not expect anything about cleanliness. But the staff was nice because they were friendly. 싼 가격이라서 이용할 만한 곳입니다. 방이 매우 좁고, 오래된 곳 같아서 청결에 대해 기대 안하는 걸 추천합니다. 그래도 직원들이 친절해서 좋았습니다.
V old hotel that badly needs an upgrade. Wi-Fi not functioning at all”
No AC. Staff explained they turned it off because it had turned cold, whereas it was like 25C. Was told to open my room door to get cold air. I didn’t find that acceptable. Wi-Fi non-exsisting. I literally needed to reconnect every two minutes, and couldn’t work for several nights. The staff tried to fix it twice but it didn’t help at all. Bathroom was dirty by Japanese standard. There are lots of good hotels in this price range in Fukuoka.
Old hotel not upgraded; AC turned off when it’s 25C. Was told to open my door to get some air. ”
I’ve stayed in no fewer than 7 hotels in Fukuoka. This one is by far the worst by a quite wide margin, even considering its v economic rates (my previous choices were in the same price range). I wasn’t the only guests who complained about the tremendous heat in the room. The hotel decided to turn off the central AC. I knew the staff couldn’t do anything about the temperature but the staff told me it was because “it’s already turned cold outside” — come on, it’s 25C out there. I was also told to “open the door to get some cold air”. That response bothered me. Bathroom was also quite dirty by Japanese standards. The receptionist was helpful in other ways — she fixed my Wi-Fi connection which started off non-functional for the first two days. That was v much appreciated.
WORST HOTEL! air conditioner IS USELESS IN OCTOBER! According to the receptionist they control the temperature of the air conditioner in all rooms and since it is autumn they decided to maintain it at a temperature that is VERY UNREASONABLE to some of us who cannot stand the humidity and warm inside a room with a useless A/C! this is the first time that ive encounter such a hotel considering that ive stayed in quite a few hotels which are of the same level as this one.
comfort & near the sightseeing area”
Overall is good though the room space is a little bit smaller especially the bathtub. Please go ahead to keep on your excellent service quality that bring us a happy feeling and recommend to those planning to have a Fukuoka trip.
Good Location ”
Furnishing a bit aged. But overall is good especially location
Too small toilet”
The Japanese style block-toilet in hotel room is too small even for asian people
500m from hakata train n bus station”
near 2 711 convenience stores 500m from hakata trainstation n bus station clean but no aircon w heater window natural vent air only
Room really small, can't lay your suitcase”
Easy walk to Hakata station and Canal city. As to pricewise, can't ask for more in Fukuoka city.
Didnt stay overnight, but had an unpleasant stay. Room was very small and stuffy. Bidet in the toilet did not work. The room was very old.
10-minute walk to Hakata Station. Clean room with comfortable bed mattress. Very near Canal City for shopping and dining.
Good location ”
Good location with reasonable price. Services are good.
Small but very functional ”
Pros Near Central train station Everything needed un a room but smaller Pajamas Cons Bathroom very small Window at head of bed breezy
Considering price, reasonable hotel”
Have both pros and cons. If you are first to the city you will walk quite a bit and Hakata terminal has so many exits so you may get confused at first. Walking distance tho. Don’t expect spacious rooms in JP anyways. Bathroom is like a small booth seperated from the rest of the room so I do not recommend if you are taller than 175-180cm. Everything is smaller than you may expect in the bathroom. You can hear sounds from hallway and other rooms but not disastrous. Just across the Canal City Mall and large convenient stores around the hotel. Fridge works well and got blow dryer. Amenity quality is below everage but they ‘have’ everything. Reception desk seems they want to help but English is not a convenient language for them so it takes an age to ask or do anything at reception. You can leave your baggage and travel downtown if you arrive early. Did not have breakfast but you can request on spot and there is a 24hr Gyudong place nearby. Considering price, I was satisfied with the hotel.
Close to canal city”
Good price for a hotel in japan...nice staff...
Old room with less facilities”
The room is too old when compare to another hotel around here with the same price and less facilities
10 minutes walking distance”
Staff's English is very limited. Some of the are willing to help, some of them have no patience. The room is very outdated and no control of temperature which is very disappointing.
convenient location, small but everything you need is ready. But centralized air con that cant adjust
The room is small but clean. The location is not so far from the main station and supermarket.
Very near Canal city and temple and shrine”
Very small rooms ,shower n toilet but everyday they clean and always provide new toiletries ,clean new towels n bed sheets with extra pillows nice area to stay near the mall, bus stops
Worst hotel we've stayed in Japan! ”
Very small room with super slow internet connection. They will call you at 10am just to make sure you will check out on time.
Close to Hakata Station, less than 10 mins walk
near shopping mall Canal City, many restaurants , 15 mins walk from station.
Overall Good Experience”
Location is great with lots of places to eat nearby. There is not much space in the room and the bed is rather small. Cleanliness is good.
There is located in 6 min from hakata station. And employee are very kind, clean room. I recommand this hotel.
About 7 minutes walk from Hakata station. One minute walk to Canal city. Cafe and convenience downstairs. Bus stop Infront of hotel. Only con is room is very small.
The best place and condition to stay alone.
Hiroshima, Yamaguchi and Fukuoka trip”
Nice hotel to stay in with close proximity to the famous Canal City and Yatai areas. Room a little small but guess that's the standard in Japan. Price is good especially for us who are retirees and like to travel to many places, great saving to our budget!
