A return trip”
Yes, we would go again (and intend to) because by and large the resort suits us. However there are a few things that perhaps people might night cope with. 1. The bed. For the second year the bed was shocking. Every time one of us moved the springs would ping! 2. The restaurant. Breakfast is one star. Cook seems to have a problem with refilling the hot dishes. After 10 days it would be nice to have a change of fruit. The staff are lovely (and the cocktails are wonderful!) 3. I think a roster to keep the soft furnishings clean is needed. The sofa covers in our unit were dirty and the bottom of the drapes were mouldy. 4. Get rid of the male who answers the phone sometimes. Before we left home I phoned the resort to find out if I could extend our stay. The guy told me to go on to Booking.com!!!!!!!! Really...! We went to another resort for the extra couple of days. The resort has so much potential if only someone would MANAGE it. However all that said, we do like so much about the place and we will be back.
ดีมาก”
Resort does have a lot of potential and needs upgrading especially for the price they charge. Would expect breakfast to be fresh and a change of menu would be nice. Felt as if the food from breakfast was left over from the previous morning. Furniture could do with some upgrading. Customer service is great. The fish pond between the carpark and reception needs cleaning. Poor fishes swimming in murky water looks like it hasn’t been touched in months. Don’t think I’ll be going back unless it’s been upgraded.
Paradise Found: Sun, Sand, and Serenity”
Waking up to the soothing sounds of the waves and being able to stroll down to the beach within seconds was an absolute delight. It was the perfect backdrop for our romantic getaway, elevating every moment we shared together. The staff at the resort were nothing short of incredible. Their attention to detail, coupled with their genuine warmth, made us feel not just welcomed, but truly special. Every interaction was a reminder of their dedication to our experience, making our stay even more memorable. And then there were the cocktails—each one was a work of art, crafted to perfection, and enjoyed with the most breathtaking beach views. Whether it was a vibrant sunset or a peaceful afternoon, these moments felt like they were made just for us. Crown Beach Resort is the epitome of paradise, a place where every element comes together in harmony to create an unforgettable experience. It's a place we’re already dreaming of returning to, where memories linger long after the stay is over.
Plenty of promise, disappointing delivery ”
Our stay could easily be described as a game of two halves perhaps impacted by the level 2 Covid lock down in place at the time. On the positive the room and courtyard were very good and of the standard expected from a resort charging over $640 NZD per night. The room very comfortable with a private pool, big bathroom and a great shower, air conditioning, a one channel TV, safe, fridge, microwave, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. On the negative we were never made to feel welcome, although we were both well, had stayed across the NZ government’s advice in regards to places of interest we were forced to have a covid test and isolate in our room until the results came back, even after the results came back it was hard not to think they just wanted the last of the remaining guests gone. The paid wifi was patchy outside of the resort centre so useless when isolating in our room or later at the resort beachfront. With only 6 units occupied (out of 36) there was no snorkelling gear available. The main pool was not clean and the restaurant and bar shut earlier than advertised and reception would not do room service. If the resort had been at any where near capacity there would be a huge shortage of beach leaners and sea kayaks. The roosters that were allowed to roam the grounds woke us and kept us awake at all hours of the night. The property has an on-site Spa and 2 Restaurants although one is shut. Food and service at Oceans (house restaurant) was very good. In short the resort looks & charges like a major resort but can’t deliver against promises made, we won’t be back and couldn’t advise anyone to stay, the prejudice we received was disappointing and not only reflects badly on the Crown but on Rarotonga.
Relaxing stay for a great price”
We got a great deal for our stay at the Crown. We had an amazing pool front villa that was spacious with great air con. While we didn't love the on site restaurant, the rest of the venue and fabulous staff more than made up for the food. It was a great place to stay.
