Remote, but good”
Lazi beach club is a bit far from the areas generally frequented by tourists, but to some that's the attraction. We rented a motorbike from them and drove around anyway. Rooms are spacious and a bit old fashioned, but everything works. Swimming pool is in pristine condition and the restaurant serves good food and beer at great prices. Some cocktails were out of stock. There is a nice reef for snorkeling in front of the resort. We had a nice chat with Niel and Maxi, and they are nice down-to-earth people that together with their staff would go the extra mile to make your stay a great one. The only con is the condition of the road that leads to the resort. It's a bumpy ride and transport to/from the pier will reflect that in the cost. We got some incorrect info from the front desk - our next destination was Bohol, and we were told that our only option was a night-time ferry, or alternatively to go back to Dumaguette. Turns out there is a daily ferry from Larena that leaves at 12h30.
Great, peaceful resort with awesome view & friendly staff.”
This resort is remote - no restaurants, shops, etc. in area. Far from other resort. If you want somewhere peaceful, this is the place. Rocky beach but at end (marine sanctuary, complete with very grumpy guard who says you cannot swim) is beautiful sand beach. I recommend this resort to escape from it all. Hire motorbike from Siquijor or Larena, sign on main road, will be easy to find in daylight. Very friendly locals all over this beautiful natural island.
День в раю”
The hotel is in the lonely place in a distance from mad city bustle. The beautiful vacation spot, for those who loves the nature and romanticism. In 50 meters from the coast a fine coral reef with numerous underwater inhabitants. Good European cuisine and personnel of hotel. We constantly want to come back what to sit not to a verandah and to look at the sea.
A great place to stay if you prefer solitude...”
Pros: Lazi beach club is a great place if you want to reflect far away from the noise of the city. Their rooms are clean and BIG. We booked a seaside room, and were surprised to find that it has 3 rooms inside. Two rooms with queen size beds, the other room has single bed in it. Beds are comfortable. Staff are very attentive to their guests needs. I have food preferences and their kitchen staff are able to serve them according to my needs. If you enjoy snorkling, this is the place to stay. They do have a nice pool too. Internet is available in the dining area Cons: The beach here is not suitable for swimming- very rocky. Not easy to get a public transport because it is located away from the main road. We experienced brownouts every now and then which could last for up to 8 hours.
Big rooms but faraway from the attractions”
the room was huge for just 3 people. i think you can fit in 4-5 people in there. the hotel was in a secluded place far from most of the attractions other than cambugahay falls. the staff was friendly and accommodating. the hotel had its own pool and fish sanctuary.
the resort is old. You do not receive network at the resort location and the staff is very not helpful(thereby it is very difficult to organise anything else out of the resort). The food is good(except the breakfast) but service is very very slow. When we arrived, we want to take a hot shower then we found out the heater is not working, and we told the reception . There is one of the staff come and check, he told us because of the shower head is not clean that's why the hot water doesn't work. I was wondering they didn't clean it for how long time would make the shower head block the water like that and made the heater doesn't work. (gross)
Just skip that one”
Siquijor is a beautiful island with great beaches and nice food options. Lazi Beach keeps you away from both. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. Situated at the end of a 20min mud path overlooking a rocky waterfront (unfit for swimming) Lazi beach has nothing appealing to offer. Yes, it is somewhat tranquil due to its remoteness but it’s tranquility was undermined by the noise of the workers and soap opera audio books of the bar staff which was not very helpful. There were hardly any other guests. The only other guests we encountered were trying to leave early - a fruitless endeavor given the hotel’s no refund policy is openly displayed in a frame in each hotel room. Try to find something at San Juan.
Best quality for your budget. Best place we have been in the Philippines for this budget. It takes some time to get there but it's worth the journey. It's quiet and you have a lovely view. We stayed 4 nights and we enjoyed snorkeling in front of the hotel, did a karaoke with Guy and Dixie. (the cook and the waitress) and took the time to hike up the hills for a sunset view. We rented a bike and visited the islands waterfalls and beaches. The rooms are clean and spacious and are actual cabins on the beach. The pool is supernice and clean. There aren't many rooms on the property so it will never be crowded. At this hotel you just need to relax and enjoy your stay.
Secluded beachfront club with awesome staff and residents”
Clean, spacious rooms, complete with padded lounge furniture looking out at the ocean. The reefs right out your door make for some great snorkeling, just make sure to use the path cleared of rocks to wade out. It's easiest to rent scooters. My wife an I have been in the Philippines for 3 weeks now and Lazi beach club is by far our favorite place we have stayed. Tip: Get to know the residents (theyll point you towards the good spots) and definitely go to the Sunday brunch buffet at Erik the Viking.
A good place to enjoy nature and to relax”
The Lazi Beach Club is a very well maintained Resort on a idyllic bay far from civilization, elektro magnetic frequencies and elektro magnetic radiation, because all the cell towers are faraway. This means, that during your stay your cell has no signal. The only way to communicate is via internet (Messenger, Skype etc.). The rooms are big and well comfortably furnished all direct on the sea with a nice balcony just few meters from the waterline. The food (mostly Pinoy dishes) are very good and very affordable and the service is friendly and accommodating to your wishes. We enjoyed or 4 days stay very much and can recommend this place to everybody which like to be in quiet place immersed in nature. The only negative point is the prices of public transportation (Trycycles, and Multicabs which are completely out of reasonable price range. I paid for 2 Adults and 2 Children, Php 1'600.00 from the Port to the Resort and back to the Port, which was not comfortable and also other people was riding in the vehicle. It started to rain and we where all wed and it was very cold. I think, that LTFRB, was never there and has checked on the fares! The same from the Resort to Lazi Town and back to the Resort Php 400.00 with a Trycycle for approx. 5km. Imagine the Bus fare from Cebu to Santander approx. 150km, is only Php 200.00 and from the Port in Siquijor to the Resort is only 20km!
Lovely place at a beautiful piece of nature”
What an amazing place to visit. We really do enjoyed our stay. It's quiet and very peaceful with an amazing reef right in front of you to snorkle or dive as many times as you like. The staf are all very friendly. Don't ecpect a white sand beach, it's rocky but the beautiful rooms are right at the beach so you can see the sea when you're laying in bed or sit on your comfortable chairs in front of the room. There is also a little pool if you don't like to swim in the sea. Rent a scooter at the port so you will be free to go anywhere you want on the island, the hotel is a little bit in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant is also good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Really a lovely place so don't be surprised if you want to stay any longer than you have planned!
Lazi Beach is certainly off the beaten path! Takes about 1 hour to get there with a tricycle from the main port (and will cost you 500Php). When you arrive though the view is definitely worth it. Not much sand, but a great wide beach that makes for nice private walks. The rooms are great too, very nicely design bathrooms, great comfy canopy bed, couch and chairs in room, and the perfect lazy lawn chairs on the front porch. Lazi Beach Club has a restaurant but their menu is entirely too big and you know that half of the offering are not avaliable considering it's a small resort and there is no way they could keep that much fresh meat and veggies on hand. My recommendation would be to concentrate the menu especially on Filipino favorites that the cook can prepare to perfection. Reasonably priced though.
A great place to rest”
A great place to get away from it all, off the beaten track right on the shore, it is not a beach where you can swim but there is a pool. All transfers, even to rent motobikes are at a charge, be aware of this. Delicious food, rent a motorbike and tour the island, very relaxing.
Peaceful place for staying”
My four night staying was perfect for me-someone who wanted to rest from civilized world /PC,TV,cell,internet..../ and is happy for marvellous landscape, sea in front of your cottage, ,local cousine and good book with you. My recommendation is,prior vacation here, to spend two or three nights in Manila or Dumaguete and then to enjoy this nice, and quiet place.
It wasn't extraordinary. This hotel is located in a rocky beach so if you want to go swimming, it is best to stay in the pool. Snorkeling is good as you venture further out to the sea. Too isolated from other establishments for you to go exploring. Limited menu options in the hotel restaurant and closes at 7 pm. Not everyone's cup of tea
Lazi Beach Club is about a 40min journey from the port and quite a long way from the main road. The well equipped cottages sit close to the beach facing the sea and are very comfortable with a fan which is very efficient. The beach is pretty rocky and not ideal for swimming off but their is a very nice pool to cool down in. The restaurant closes at 7pm which is quite early but it does ensure early nights and plenty of sleep! The staff are good and the Canadian owner, Neil, is good company and very helpful. You can hire motorcycles from the resort for a very reasonable 350 peso per day. You can go round the island in a day on the empty roads which are well maintained. We thoughly enjoyed our 5 nights there and came away totally rested and relaxed. Resort offers excellent value for money and we would love to return one day.
Quiet, friendly and relaxing place to stay”
The club lies in a remote part on the southern coast. It is a good place to start excoursions via motorbike or bike. Siquijor itself offers friendly, open hearted people, small villages, waterfalls, some coral reefs and interesting roads trough the mountains (prepare for some flat tyres). As a group of 4 people we really enjoyed our stay at Siquijor. It is one of the islands you feel that travellers are still welcome.
Cozy and quiet, perfect experience!”
Super great service. The food tasted sooo good. Nice beach which was almost perfect for snorkeling. Enjoying the candle light dinner with fireflies flying all over was unforgettable Will try to come again soon!
Peace and tranquility, with fantastic service.”
4 of us stayed here, and due to the ferry times, we didn't arrive until about 10pm. We were all starving, and asked the security man if we could get food anywhere. Before we knew it, he'd jumped onto a scooter, and gone off to collect the cook so that we could be treated to a hot meal. Top service!
Nice hotel but overpriced services and too far”
We thought Lazi hotel could provide some nice relaxing getaway on the Siquijor island, but in the end we were majorly disappointed with the result. Hotel itself is pretty nice, rooms are in a small villas or whole villas itself, only complaint in that could be close to zero soundproofing of the Pool house rooms, pretty annoying. Bed is nice rustic design with huge canopy, but comfy, fridge is available and once again only one minor thing, shower+toilet corner is separater only with small wooden wall and a curtain, not that ideal. Hotel is literally at the end of the world, about 40 minutes by car from the port and hidden from the main roads so its close to impossible getting any sort of local transportation aside of the hotel car. Which is terribly overpriced, we ended paying 1800 pesos for measly 3 hour ride to closeby sights. Worth mentioning is also pickup at the port which is more or less mandatory, but costing you 800 pesos one way. So you can forget about spending your evenings anywhere else if you are prepare to pay such outrageous prices. Lazi beach club is located right on the shore under palm trees so it looks amazing and feels relaxing, but the shore is rocky and impossible to use as a beach for swimming in general and getting to any usable beach is a task bordering with impossibility. So you are stuck using only the hotel pool, which is cozy and available all the time but still poor replacement. Hotel restaurant cooks wonderful homemade meals but selection is pretty limited and brace yourself for insane wait times, hour at least for simple meal. Also for some weird reason breakfast is totally overpriced, costing more than majority of the lunch/dinner main dishes. Huge problem is electricity, we ended up having about 50/50 uptime so you can quickly forget about fridge/AC/fan/lights everything. Internet is available only in the restaurant and only if electricity is up, phone signal is non existant. So decide yourself.
