Ocean Front Relaxation”
We chose Huahine and LaMahana as a place to relax our last few days in French Polynesia. It did not disappoint. Our ocean front bungalow number 4 was just as pictured. Beautiful sunsets and calm clean ocean right off our patio. The staff was the friendliest we met on our 2 week journey to 3 other islands. From the airport pickup right through to the airport drop off, it was fabulous. They arranged a rental car for us and we spent a few hours exploring the island. It was the cleanest of the 4 we visited, which was impressive. The restaurant food was good, but expensive. We had opted for the inclusive breakfast, which was a lot of food and very good. I have celiac and they accommodated that for me. I let the. Know ahead of time. We walked down the road, or along the beach if you so desire, to a little restaurant the 2nd night and the food was great for about 1/2 the price. There is a small pool behind the bungalows which is very clean. We swam in itfor a bit one afternoon. We never got even one mosquito bite, as previously mentioned in a prior review, and we never used bug spray. The front desk gave us a zapper and we turned it on right away. The rooms were a bit dated but clean. If the wind blew the doors facing the ocean banged a bit but we just put a suitcase against them and it stopped. There are a few bugs but you are in the trees on the ocean, after all. That never bothered us. The bedding was clean and that’s what I look at. If you are looking for 5 star luxury this isn’t it, but it was exactly what we needed.
