Such a wonderful place to relax”
We really enjoyed our stay on this tiny island where there is no need for fancy clothes or shoes. From the beginning, we were surrounded by the attention of the staff and enjoyed the surprises associated with my birthday, which I celebrated on the day of arrival. Special thanks to manager Kuntal:). We spent 9 nights there and chose the FB type of catering. The price of the drinks was extra, but their selection and prices were quite reasonable. We really liked the type of catering - a la cart. This is probably related to the Covid-19 situation, but it was a great pleasure to have lunch and dinner with the personal waiter Ahamed. We felt especially when we were served by a real professional and lovely person - many thanks to him and best wishes:). The food at the restaurant, run by a chef from Sri Lanka, was varied and delicious, beautifully presented. Breakfast was buffet style, but there were plenty of food choices and very tasty fruit. We liked the fact that there were very few people on the island, the bungalows were comfortable and cleaned twice a day. The private beach patio has sun loungers and chairs and direct ocean views. The island is small, it has a total of 37 bungalows, a lot of greenery and various animals - lizards, crabs, bats, birds. We especially liked that there was enough depth nearby for swimming, a white sand beach and some amazing home reefs. While diving we saw a lot of beautiful fish, turtles and even beach sharks. The holidays passed like a moment, surrounded by beautiful nature. Thanks to everyone who works hard there, providing great conditions for guests to relax. We will definitely recommend Makunudu Island to our friends and look forward to coming back on our own.

Great property..!! Excellent staff..!! Had an unforgettable 1st wedding anniversary..the resort and the staff really went extra mile to make it all the more special for me and my wife...!! Special Shout out to Bhaskar, Ravini, mahadev, talib(from house keeping..made my room..not sure if I got name right), subra , though everyone were nice, met and greeted us... Being a flight crew with AirIndia we put up at the best hotels round the globe on a regular basis.. I highly recommend this place... If I really had to find a fault I would say the resort being far from the mainland the tranfer cost is exponentially high..I wish it was a little less...!! Over all loved it... Kudus team Makanudu..!!
Beautiful untouched island”
Makunudu is still as it was 30 years ago when it was one of the original tourist islands, it has been left with its original untouched beauty making it a truly Maldivian desert island getaway experience, truly relaxing with unblemished views, the staff are also exceptional, we will be returning to this island many times
Beautiful little paradise ”
This was my second trip to Makunudu. That probably speaks for itself :) In my review I will summarize major advantages and a few things I’d recommend the resort to look into. But before I start, I’d like to thank from my heart the entire crew of the island and especially the restaurant Team. I was extremely happy to see there again Anwar, who has been our waiter last time and, in my humble opinion, remains to be the best and the most attentive professional :) Advantages: close to the airport; welcoming staff, ready to help You with Your requests; extremely green; very private (You won’t meet anyone unless You want!); quite; beautiful beaches with alive reef (with turtles and sharks); great dinners (buffet and a la cart). What could be a bit better: pick up time from the airport (I was waiting for approximately 1,5 hours); breakfast (still they are decent and You have all You may need). Some bungalows may benefit out of renovation, but they have their charm. In some cases- would be nice to see people working there ready to go an extra mile for the guests (for example, we wanted to change our table in the restaurant in the beginning with another waiter, and that seemed to be a problem). I would also suggest to diversify sand bar menu (for example, to add masala tea :) These little things did not spoil our vacation and I would 100%+ recommend Makunudu as a great value for money. I plan to be back next year myself :)
Good but could be better.”
We stayed on late October and early November 2022 for almost two weeks.After many times visiting Maldives and reading reviews,I can say that the wonderful nature of the islands influences a little bit on people's perception.No water villas which is nice ,the bungalows are really cozy and everything worked perfectly,however bathrooms need some renovation.Breakfast and lunch buffets are not extensive but are good enough.The four course dinner instead of a buffet option was very important to us at time of choosing where to go,it is nicer.An overhauling of table cloths,glassware will make the experience much better.Good snorkeling at the north east side of the island.Still using plastic bottled drinking water.I got sick with a condition that threatened my life,of course nothing related to the hotel, and had to spend 4 days at a hospital in Male,they kept our room and provided the transfer to Male in their scheduled boats,then tried to charge it but after my complaint they didn't. Overall was a good experience and could come back.
