perfect location”
The hotel was very authentic and big. The room were big as well and the beds were so comfortable. The garden was very beautiful. The only problem was that there was a smell in the room that did not go away, might be due to fact that the floors are covered with carpets. But the room was very clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.
Underwhelming and with issues”
We booked this hotel for two nights to visit Bruges. While the location is good, the hotel itself did not live up to expectations. It’s listed as a 4 star but I’d give it a 3 at best and certainly wasn’t worth the price we paid. Positives - location is convenient, right next to a bus station and one stop on the bus from Bruges station (a 10 minute walk if you don’t have heavy luggage). The beds were comfortable (but see caution below). AC worked well which was needed as we were there on the hottest night of the year. Negatives - the room smelt very bad - likely from the old bathroom plumbing. When coming back after being out of the room for some time the smell was terrible. The room was advertised as a quadruple family room but the two beds were a double each at best. Not so comfortable with a larger child however maybe ok for very young children. Various service requests were unmet or had to be asked for repeatedly (extra pillows were forgotten, not enough towels - on the second night they only gave two towels despite this being a room for 4 people - toilet paper not replenished, no tissues. Room cleanliness - not the greatest - fly in the room when we arrived and cups/plates weren’t cleaned properly. The shower - patchy hot water - we seemed to only have hot water in the evening and in the morning it was luke warm. One wrong nudge of the shower hose and shower screen also resulted in a flood on the bathroom floor. Noise - asked for a quiet room but was put on the ground floor and could hear every persons conversation walking past.
