Fantastic Family Getaway at Novotel Lombok ”
Novotel Lombok is an excellent and affordable choice for families. The "private" beach is sheltered from the wind, making it a perfect spot to relax. One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying breakfast with a beautiful beach view while watching our children play in the kids club. Although the hotel shows some signs of age, it remains beautiful and clean, which did not detract from our experience at all. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our room was spacious and comfortable. Upgrading to a terrace room was a fantastic decision, as we enjoyed the outside air into our room. Our children absolutely loved the variety of activities available at the kids club. One minor improvement would be the addition of a pool table for some leisurely fun. Additionally, we fondly remember the yoga classes that used to be held in the mornings and evenings by the beach. These sessions were magical and truly added to the experience. We hope these classes return in the future, as we plan to stay here again. Overall, Novotel Lombok provides a wonderful, family-friendly retreat with great amenities and a stunning beach setting. Highly recommended!
Nice hotel but…”
Stayed 6 nights here, on the whole we had a good time, staff were very nice and helpful. The good: great grounds with good facilities, they have everything you need including a little shop. The day beds and sun loungers are great and they have plenty of them. Wi-Fi was excellent including on the beach. Breakfast options were really good with something for everybody. The bikes they rent here are the best I’ve had, almost new with decent helmets and at a reasonable price. They put on daily free activities for guests which is a really nice touch. The bad: the room smelt damp and air con was noisy (and dripped water). They gave you two small bottles of water per day which isn’t enough (2x 300ml) to stay hydrated, and the shop only sold small bottles which were expensive. Constant noise from the Mandalika circuit, sometimes as early as 6.45am all day until sunset. Only Monday was there no noise, we didn’t expect there to be noise every day! And if it is noisy, you can not escape it, it’s so loud you can hear it everywhere! Lunch and dinner options didn’t taste very good, over 6 days I tried everything and there wasn’t a single dish I liked. Beach sellers really hassle you if you’re on the front day beds, even when you say no they come back multiple times, they also use guilt tactics saying they need to feed their kids or they beg. I’ve not seen this level of desperation in other places in Lombok, it’s very sad. Housekeeping come round very early and were knocking on the door 8.30am one day, which when on holiday is crazy! So we had to put our do not disturb sign on the night before just so we didn’t get woken (although the motor bikes usually did that for us anyway). A few of the negatives are not in the control of the hotel (noise from track, and beach sellers) and I know they complain to the track when noise starts too early. I’ve also seen them chase away beach sellers too so they are doing what they can.

Beautiful and peaceful resort, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great with many options. Pool had a great view and was always clean. Drivers readily available for tours or drop/pick service for a reasonable price. Only issues were our room door getting stuck and not opening straight away almost every time, the TV only had local channels (no netflix/amazon/youtube) and remote wouldnt work from the bed, had to be used standing very close to the TV. A clothes drying rack would have been helpful. Overall it was a wonderful stay.
