It still maintains that Versace style, even though many pieces have been removed. Most notably – Versace's artwork exhibition in the corridors, the primary feature, in my opinion, is no longer there. But art lovers would still find plenty of items: tiles, pillows, fabrics, and the vibe of an Italian courtyard with fountains and marble. Unfortunately, the property eagerly begs for renovation, as there are signs of slow decay everywhere: not overwhelming, but… And for some things, a thorough cleanup would really help (e.g. light switches, come on, 5/6-star hotel!) But nevertheless, it's still gorgeous and very worth staying if you want to see this piece of art, very uncharacteristic of Australia. Dear management, please preserve this masterpiece! And dear guests, don't skip it, at least as it's still absolutely stunning.

The Imperial Hotel Gold Coast is undeniably stunning, with its beautiful Versace architecture and an overall luxurious ambiance. Our room, although located at the end of some very long corridors, was clean and quite acceptable. However, my experience with the hotel staff was very disappointing. As someone with experience in the hotel industry and personnel training, and after comparing the level of service with other 5-star hotels around the world, I have to say that the reception and breakfast staff here fell far short of expectations. Their unfriendly demeanor, unapproachable attitudes, and overall lack of hospitality were shocking. The reception barely explained the hotel’s amenities, and their reluctance to assist was clear. One specific issue we encountered was trying to get a simple bottle of water at 8 AM, which was met with an unhelpful and indifferent response from reception. To make matters worse, we were charged unnecessarily for water, which should have been part of the daily service. While the charge itself was negligible, it was the dismissive approach that left a bad impression. Although the hotel’s quality in terms of design and comfort is commendable, I strongly believe that one of the most crucial factors in rating a hotel is the behavior and approach of the staff. Personnel should prioritize customer satisfaction, and sadly, this was not the case here.

We had been contemplating whether to book a suite but our Lagoon King room did not disappointed! It was a beautiful room with a view to match, spacious and clean with a luxurious feel. Loved our outlook from the fourth floor. We were a little surprised not to have a door for privacy in the bathroom area but apparently this is something that some rooms have and others don’t, so we’ll know to make that request next time. Fantastic customer service and friendly, experienced staff made our stay really enjoyable. The buffet breakfast was one of the nicest we have had at any hotel. The music coming from the pool bar creates a really nice atmosphere by the pool and it was even nicer that the pool bar was open and staffed from the time the pool was. We are already looking forward to staying again.
