Excellent service by housekeeping staff! ”
I chose Taj again based on my prior stay’s for work at Taj. Although this time I felt that the front desk could have been more inviting as they were before (Given that the economy is open now) I felt I was not given the warm welcome that I usually get. And the manager at the time who I do not want to mention by name out of courtesy told me that himself “Ma’am now that the economy is open and you stayed during lockdown times so we had not many travelers, that’s why you were given the extra service and upgrade”, made me very sad and uncomfortable. Because, a) I did not ask for an upgrade, b) In my request at the time of booking I wanted a higher floor with the ocean view. And what they gave me was apparently an upgrade ( which was not as it was facing a roof of the old building on the 2nd floor). I was also not offered a welcome drink that others were offered and apparently that was for foreign travelers? Management you need to check on that. As that is appalling! If I stayed at your hotel during the pandemic twice and was treated nicely, now that the economy is open and you treat me differently and you say it to me too. Then something needs to be done. Nonetheless, I demanded my room which I did get on a higher floor and facing the ocean. I must mention, the housekeeping staff and in room dining staff was excellent. Mr. Sunil the duty manager for housekeeping was exceptional and so was Mr. Nuwan who did my housekeeping. They should be acknowledged and applauded for the great work they did. As it minimized my negative experience at the front desk, and I might come back because of them if I ever decide to stay at Taj after the front desk experience.

Stay was in one of the refurbished rooms and it was very nice and would recommend it. Other facilities are good as well.
