Everything at The Shilla is extremely overpriced. Hamburgers are $45. The service is excellent, and some meals in their really expensive specialty restaurants are very good. But every single item at The Shilla is seriously overpriced. And its location isn't very convenient. We stayed three nights and never once left the property. There is no question but it is a fine hotel. But everything in it costs far more than its worth.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfy bedroom”
The front-office staff at the hotel were attentive, friendly and spoke great English. I greatly appreciated the help of one of the staff that helped me to call a shopping department to trace the credit card that I left behind at one of the shops! The bedroom was clean, comfy and quiet.
Hotel is overcrowded with local during peak seasons and service is compromised as we can't enjoy the hotel facilities i.e. swimming pool and F&B outlets are heavily overcrowded and hotel is very sticky on late checkout policy. Not convenient as you need shuttle bus to go to nearest subway station or airport limousine bus stop
The Shilla Hotel has always been my number one choice of hotel in Seoul. Architecturally, it's grandeur is hard to beat in Seoul, and the staff are always so friendly and accommodating. They carry themselves with poise and elegance and are always eager to help, from the doorman to the front desk to the room service staff.
Hotel is overpriced. $100 to just use the outdoor pool in top or the $500 you already pay. $20 for a coffee that is poor quality. Baristas need training.
Korean members in the sauna abuse you if you decide not to be naked. They do not respect your cultural/religious differences. The staff in the spa also abuse you and don't understand what privacy is. Never have I had an experience like this. I was humiliated and disrespected. Management did nothing about it. This hotel is owned by Samsung. If you're a westerner. Stay away. Poor koreans are being ripped off by this hotel.
My parents like the hotel that is a good location, clean room, and delicious foods but when my parents were staying the hotel, there was a conference? I'm not sure anyway busy hotel and crowded. Except this problem, The Shilla Hotel is one of the best hotel ever.
As expected from 5* hotel, great and efficient service, good facilities and convenient location. F&B prices however are extraordinary, with a coffee in lobby bar The Library over 18 USD, or a brioche at the pastry shop 12 USD... I am all for great quality products and don't mind paying for them, but prices here are out of line on global scale. The lobby is also large and noisy, down to poor design of the ground floor.
It's worth money. The room is so nice and super clean, good view for me with Namsan tower”
The bed is so comfortable, air condition is very good. But you have pay 300.000 won deposit even you have already paid payment. It stays a little bit long away from station and you have take shuffle bus or go high stairs .
