Lovely Hotel”
I enjoyed my stay at Fable, a lovely refurbished historic hotel on the outskirts of the cbd. The staff were friendly and helpful in providing any information I needed re things to do in Dunedin. The room I had was great - it was a good size, had a very comfortable bed with nice crisp linen, a rainwater shower and a coffee machine. For those without a car, the hotel is easy walking distance to the Octagon and lots of eateries, also attractions like the Railway Station and the Chinese Garden. There's lots of great street art in the area too. There's a bus stop right outside for venturing further afield. Hotel desk staff helped me with the schedule for bus times to North Dunedin. I booked a peninsular tour and was picked up from the hotel and staff booked me an airport shuttle when it was time to leave. All in all an easy and enjoyable stay.

Fantastic stay ”
Absolutely loved our stay at the Fable Dunedin. The in-room dining was perfect and was cooked at the restaurant located in the hotel (The Press Club). The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The welcome drink was a lovely touch, and the beautiful facilities, including the charming old-school lift, added so much character. Everything was spotless, and I only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!
Super attentive service, slightly cramped room”
We really enjoyed our one night stay at Fable, with exceptionally thorough and attentive service from all the staff we encountered throughout the stay. The room (Classic Queen) was nicely designed and comfortable but pretty tight, as was the bathroom. Absolutely fine for what we needed but not the kind of room you could spread out it. We were in town in the quiet period between Christmas and New Year, when many restaurants were closed, so opted to eat in the hotel restaurant (The Press Club). We were initially told it was fully booked, though after discussion they found space for us if we ate earlier than intended... in a dining room that remained 90% empty for the two hours or so we were there! Not sure what the story was there but the food was tasty (though a bit expensive for what it was) and wine list was pleasingly diverse. Our included breakfast the next morning was excellent too. Would happily stay again but consider a larger room if it's for a longer stay.

The Fable Dunedin was a lovely place to stay. Central location is great, restaurant is fabulous and the staff were wonderful. We will definitely stay there again.
