"we checked in one day earlier than what we booked onlilne but the staff was helpful and kept a room for us even on short notice. 500b/night is great value for money...the room was big, quiet, very clean, and same goes for toilet. fridge, wifi, a/c, hot shower...we missed nothing. very quiet at night. you cross the road nearby and in 3 minutes you are among the ruins...nice position. when night comes, you are just a kick away from the night market on th naresuan. the family that runs the guesthouse is very friendly and can provide information on the area. they have a guard at night outside the gate so the place is quite safe. they rent bicicles at a ridicolous price, i recommend them to go around the ruins and up to the market in the northeast corner of the city. thai tea and fruit shakes at the little restaurant were delicious, but we did not try anything else, and the english breakfast was not very rich. i would go back here if i ever went back to ayutthaya, unless i found another cheap place that provided some extra (luxury) comfort like massages... i recommend it to anyone going to ayutthaya for the first time. tip: be ready with the guesthouse phone number and when you get to ayutthaya have the tuk-tuk driver call the owner to have her explain the whereabouts of the place. once you get there it is easy to find it on your own, but first time may be tricky."

"I have stayed in many 5 star and budget hotels during my years in thailand. This hotel falls into the later category but is without doubt the best of its price range i have stayed in.It is centrally located, clean and has a pool all for 550baht per night.Hotels of this age normally still have the original dark musky old carpets so it was a refreshing change to see the bedrooms are tiled which gave a light and airy feel.It is definitely better than many of the mid-ranged priced hotels in ayutthaya namely the krungsi river and riverside hotels.I scored the room highly on comfort and standard in relation to price.I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget."

"Spent the night here. Location is easy to find but surrounding area and parking spaces is pretty busy. There are many buildings for students and parents to park cars. the best choice is booking the room from Agoda! Don’t walk in here on holiday or weekend! I heard the staff said many times “NO ROOMS AVAILABLE” hehehehe"

"Not only are the owners and staff incredibly sweet and helpful, the location can't be beat - right next to ruins and central to everywhere there is to go in ayutthaya. The bungalows are so gorgeous and spacious. New A/C equipment, lovely little pond and decks all facing each other yet still nice and private. We found it hard to leave, to be honest. The cleanliness of the rooms are some of the best we've encountered and bicycle rental is a great option as you can get around to all the ruins in about a day with them. Best noodles in town are just around the corner at Lung Lek! Seriously, stay here. It's a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Guesthouse and will definitely stay there any time we are in Ayutthaya. The location is perfect for exploring the ruins, they are literally across the street. We enjoyed exploring the ruins in the morning then ducking in to the hotel for a break in the heat. The location is the perfect midway point to see all the main Wats on the island. The owner is incredibly nice and caring. He is a perfect host and really did his best to make sure we were making the most out of our time. The breakfast was fantastic and the WiFi works well. A full 5 stars! "

"Location is very close to night market and other temples. Easy access by boat then you can rent a good bike from hostel for 50baht to see all the places in town. Owner/Manager was very nice and accommodating. I was able to book a great boat trip through the hostel. We were also given a customized map of the town. Highlighting the top places of interest etc. That was amazing. Made my planning that much easier! Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was good. Cereals and toast. Would definitely come back again. "

"We used this hostel to stay in Ayuthaya for one night. At first, I recommend you having wi-fi or the Internet cuz the hostel owner sends you an e-mail, and it has door lock password and your room door rock number. Yes, this hostel is self-check in n' out. We didn't know that and at first, we couldn't even open the door. Fortunately, two customers came out from the hostel, and we could get in, and met one of the staffs inside. We borrowed their wi-fi, and get our check-in information. We were so lucky. The room was so modern and simple. We loved it. There are some cooking staffs and microwave, refrigerator. Thank you for your kindness and services!"

"I have stayed at many places, but this is quite possibly one of the best bookings I've ever made. When I first stepped into the room, I was very impressed with its modern and vibrant design. It was luxurious and tastefully decorated. Tuey later told me that she had put her heart and soul into the interior design herself. Also, the place is very new – only a couple of months old. The room was inviting, impeccably clean, of good size and incredibly comfortable. The bottled water and welcome fruit were very nice extra touches as well. Tuey uses whatsapp which made contacting her very easy, and she was extremely helpful when I requested for some help with getting around the city. At night, she came by my room with her son, and both of them were so friendly, spoke good English, and patiently addressed all of my concerns. They even offered me some hot drinks before they left my room! I had a lovely full day exploring Ayutthaya on bicycle. But towards the end of the day, I met with a mini-crisis with my bicycle rental and Tuey was so kind, empathetic and comforting. Although I had checked out, she invited me into her house nearby for a shower before my overnight bus ride to Mae Sot. I then got to meet her daughter who is a very sweet girl and spent some quality time chatting with the family over some snacks. I planned to take a motorbike to the bus terminal since I had lost most of my baht that day, but Tuey insisted on sending me there on her friend's tuk-tuk! (FB: @tuktukkrungsritravel) I am so grateful to Tuey and her family for going the extra mile and doing what they did for me. I could kick myself thinking that I nearly did not book this place seeing that they did not have single rooms. But the price is very very reasonable for a double room, and as for me I had the double bed all to myself which was really great! One night at Bann Baimai was simply not enough, and I have grown so fond of Tuey and her children that I cannot wait to revisit them in Ayutthaya again!"
