What a peaceful spot!”
We stayed here 2 nights whilst doing a road trip from Krabi to Bangkok in March 2019. What a great find! Something totally different & unique to do. This resort started after the 2004 tsunami when the existing cashew nut plantation was destroyed. The wooden houses are set around a lake, near the sea. It was too hot to walk to the beach but there’s a shuttle tuktuk at your disposal plus bikes for the guests to use, or you can drive if you came by car! The house was comfortable although the aircon wasn’t great. I would have been really interested to learn more about cashew nuts and felt that an information leaflet would have been of great interest. We wandered around the extensive grounds and found cashew trees and some fallen nuts, I tried to open one but it was gooey inside so I gave up, luckily I washed my hands straight away because later when I googled cashews I discovered that they are high,y poisonous when raw! So not only would some information have been interesting, it would could also be of great importance to alert people to the hazards of the raw nuts!! That said, we enjoyed our stay here. It wasn’t the best food we’ve had but the location more than made up for that! I would definitely came back if we are in the area again.
Lovely location, great staff”
Pros: near the ocean, great staff, good food, spacious cottage, great massage, good air conditioning, great porch, great shower Cons: far from town center if you want to leave, bathroom smelled like sewage
a bit offside, but very good for relaxation (beautiful resort, good facilities, good breakfast, friendly staff) - shuttle available (we didn't use it since we only stayed one day, but should offset the location)
Nice retreat ”
This is a spread out all bungalow resort. Super quiet embedded in gardens around a lake. The Bungalows are traditionally thai style with lots of wood and are spacious. Beach is 5 min by foot and has a few sun beds etc set up from the hotel. Really nice private stretch of beach. We were here in rain season so we could not use it but it looks great 👍 pool has a good size and is salt water. Very nice The resort is run by a lovely thai family and caters perfect to a secluded retreat. Big book and DVD library available. Food is simple and good and menu has enough choices to stay in for a few days. If you look for a busy hotel near the city you are wrong here ! But if you look to relax and unwind then it’s a perfect fit :-) Due to the remoteness it’s best to rent a car at Phuket and drive up there then you are mobile and can easy do the needed distances. We loved it and will be back soon
We were there in November 2016. If you are looking for an escape from everyday life, this is the place you are looking for. Gorgeous grounds, great staff, delicious food and the silence and tranquility. The houses in which we stayed only filled the atmosphere of relaxation. I would definitely recommend this place.
haven of peace”
this place is quite remote. You need a scooter or car to get around. Apart from that it is an amazing place. the bungalows are spacious and clean. the nearby beach is stunning and the staff is super helpful. it is a real getaway. if you look for some peace and quietness in the sun
Pleasant Stay At Thai Life”
Thai life is the Lovely Thai Style Bungalow located around the small lake , the room is beautifully decorated with all necessary amenities, its charming is also the outdoor shower and the small lovely kitchen. The beach is about few minute ride by bicycle ,which you can take it from the reception, it is the long beach along the coast and highly recommended for spending the memorable sunset time on the beach. The breakfast is okay comparing for the accommodation price. Overall it is highly recommended and it is one of the best resort I ever stay in Thailand. BTW, the location is a bit far from the center of Kao Lak, it is best if you have your own transportation.
My unique holiday with NATURE”
ThaiLife has provided me a perfect stay with friendly attitude from employees. I kind of felt like being at my own home. Furthermore the bikeride around the resort and towards the beach were fantastic with lots of countryside atmosphere and freshair. My trip came to an end by watching the sunset at the beach and dipping in the salted water pool....Overall I would recommend ThaiLife to anyone who wish to pursue a peaceful holiday with the sounds of NATURE. Thank you to all staffs and it's a Kingdom of HAPPINESS.
Traditional thai style houses near beach”
Really nice traditional thai style houses around lake located about 1km from empty sand beach. Very good food in hotel restaurant, also beach bar available with sunset bbq offered. But if you expect shops restaurants etc to visit everyday, better choose hotel in other location, this is a little bit out of tourist centers (but many people choose hotel right for location).
lovely resort stay and villas privacy”
the place was very quiet as it was a weekday and low season. have very nice villas design thai style and place of the room is large with unique open air bathroom ( but too bad it was raining heavily and wonder how to shower with the rain...:) ) room warming is warm with the design towel twin swan. have a meditation area for those who like to seek out some peace and learning of meditation. beach is abit far from walk but they provide bicycle. hotel food is a bit steep on the price compare to others resort.
The biggest pros are the unbelievably friendly and helpful staff and the huge area of the resort. In both direction you can walk 5km without finding anybody. Food and prices are ok. It’s a bit far away for party people but perfect tho chill and just enjoy.
Great place for relaxing!!”
Beautiful Thai’s old style house with lake view, fast WiFi, very attentive staffs, great breakfast, delicious cocktails at the quite private beach bar. Isolated location keep this place away from a tourists (which was we wanted!). You might need a car to go to another restaurant/bar or you can hire the bus service from the resort.
Weekend get a way”
The resort was empty we loved it! A quiet weekend just the two of us. Not much to do but relax and enjoy nature and each other.
We enjoyed our stay, but...”
The wooden houses are beautiful and well-maintained. It's great to wake up to the tranquil view of the pond and garden. The beach is quite far from the houses, but within cycling distance. It's far from town area and hard to get to anywhere, but if you just want to chill out and stay at the resort then it's fine. Would be better if the villas had cooking facilities. Not many restaurants nearby, so we ended up eating at the beach bar every night. It was hit and miss. The food was overpriced and some things were reheated from frozen, but then again some things were quite nice, especially the banana fritters!
A nice and quiet hotel in the area wich is not so developed as Phuket.”
We stayed in the Spa Villa. pros: - a big and nice wooden room with a large terrace. - a good and lonly beach in about 500m-1000m (might be reached by walk but quite far, there is a free shuttle service and bicycles for rent). - the bed was soft and good. cons: - I do not know why it is called "A Spa Villa". it is just a single room with a terrace with one neighbour room attached and with the hotel's massage facility on the first floor. - On the agoda the hotel says that the "spa villa" has a kitchenette which is not true. This discovery was frustrating since a kitchenette was one of the main reasons for selecting this hotel. - The personall is not helpful in organising of any trips outside of hotel or providing any infromation regarding the local attractions (basically the offer is limited by the masasge, local beach and food). - Limited choice of food. - The shower and toilet door is on the terrace so after shower you have to cross the open terace to go to the room wich is not quite comfortable. We used to like the beach for it's loneliness probably we would come to that area again but we will choose an other hotel.
peaceful oasis with luxury comfort at good value”
The Thai life resort development has given close attention to detail and offers luxury comfort and amenities in a peaceful setting. It was the perfect antidote to conclude our holiday but unfortunately we could only stay one night. We managed to squeeze in a beach massage to the sound of lapping waves. Visitors should stay at least two nights to really appreciate the serenity and relaxation the resort provides.
Do not come here with children. Nice hotel. Good service. For meditation, yoga and spa but a bit far from the beach. Free shuttle all day so no problem getting to the beach. Its a quiet place and I would come back without children.
Excellent choice if you're looking for calm ”
Traditional thai houses, good quality, close to nature, calm, very nice beach, massage at beach excellent, excellent service at reception. Minor improvement suggestion: Drinks at the beach bar could be improved by utilisung fresh fruit juice.
great resort. the owners had thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. staff very friendly. accommodation is excellent-really nice outdoor shower. Free bikes to cycle around the resort and to their private beach -5 minutes cycle max. The beach is long, follows the coast - you can walk down it and not see anyone. would definitely visit again. NB. It's not in Khao Lak itself but just outside
The location is well sign posted and covers a very large area. The houses are lovely with private outdoor showers, microwave, fridge, kettle, tv with a DVD player and great WiFi. It really felt like your own little home. We stayed in April, a particularly hot time and as the house was wooden the aircon struggled to get the place cool in the daytime, but once the sun was down it worked great. Really friendly staff, some English speaking and lovely wildlife.
