Worth the expense”
I would recommend this resort for those looking for somewhere close to but outside of Chiangmai city centre. Quiet and comfortable with very good service. We were visiting our family who live nearby and wanted a place that had a pool the grandchildren could enjoy. The Thantara Resort was exactly what we wanted and a very pleasant stay ensued. On arrival at the resort you park at the main gate and are taken to reception in an electric golf buggy, some are fitted with solar chargers so are environmentally friendly. Guests have to either use bicycles provided or the buggies to get around. This makes the resort a safe place to move around but can mean a delay waiting for transportation. Each villa has its own salt water pool and ours had two levels, the shallow section suitable for very young children and the main section from approx 8+. The villa are well equipped with the main bedroom overlooking the resort towards the (also excellent ) coffee shop which is open to the public and has a separate access. There is plenty of cupboard space and the minibar has good but limited offerings. At the back of the villa the bathroom has a large two person bath in a private but open area. Double basins and a separate shower make it a very pleasant cleaning area. The luxury breakfast is expensive and huge, more like a three course meal and would keep you going all day with a huge choice of food on offer served at the table. We would have been happier with a smaller offering but I am not sure if this was available. The service throughout was excellent and discreet. On one evening we had Moo Gra Ta for our family and we did not notice the staff prepare the table outside the villa until it was nearly ready. There was plenty of food and after finishing was didcrRoom service was good and the staff brought the drinks poolside as we did not hear the doorbell ring. We had a wonderful stay. The room is new, clear and tidy. Staffs are very friendly, helpful and efficient. They decorated our room for our anniversary celebration. The river scenery is very beautiful, we feel relaxing just sitting in front of the pool and in front of the big window of the room. The floating breakfast was perfect for checkin on social media. It was a nice place for cycling and swimming. But unfortunately, it was a bit cold for swimming in mid of Dec. If the resort can provide more activities, believe we can stay for longer. The quality of food in the restaurant should be improved.

We are coming for our honey moon. Great experience to stay here. Clean, comfortable, good services, high privacy and cost-effective. We have our own swimming pool and can arrange BBQ next to it. The whole resort is will planning, we can cycling and playing with the mini race car here. Since the resort is not close to the old city, need to take Grab going out, so if you would like to go the weekend night markets, take time for the transportation. Suggest to visit here on weekday, so that you can have time to join their activities and spend whole day inside the resort.

The resort looks exactly like the photos! No complain ! The staff were so nice and helpful! No complain as well! However, the hardware need some maintainance. Not to mention those minor issues, i got two big issues during my stay. First is the odd smell of the bathroom. It just cames out from the toilet bowl area all the time.. that annoys me quite much during my stay i have to shut close the bathroom door all the time and went to toilet as least as possible... Second is the lack of continuous hot water. Obviously the hot water is limited and will be running out during some usage, like after took a bath, there was no much hot water left for a shower. That is really an issue in winter stays but i guess its ok for summer.

Very romantic and spiritual ambiance. Pool villa was superb. They provided bikes to ride around the serene rice farms. The resort staff in general were helpful and positive. The service and checkin process could be a lot better. It took more time than necessary.

One of the best decisions I've made with stays”
This place has redefined what giving a place 5 start means for me. I would give it more if I could. This is one of the BEST places you could stay at. The property is insanely beautiful. The rooms are excellent and well maintained, and these aren't even the best things about the place. What makes the place truly special is the service, hospitality and care each staff member puts in to make your experience memorable. For instance, the hotel staff made sure everyday that my dietary restrictions were met and there was ample food for the entire stay. Moreover, they cared enough to prepare "early breakfast box" for my 4am checkout just to make sure I had something to eat. And this is just one in many things they took care of throughout the stay. I simply can't recommend this place enough.

very worthy. The private pool is quite big and the view is so cozy and natural. The bathtub is quite big and enough for 2 people. The food's price is 3 times of normal hotel, but it is quite delicious. The hotel provided us a basket of snack and fruits. It is great! I really recommend to stay here. The staff arranged late chk out to 2pm for us. We are happy for it.
