Love this hotel, but it's not for picky people. Rooms are a bit dark and oddly shaped, but they are spacious and incredible value for money. The owner, Jay, and Khmer staff are all very friendly and laid back.

Small room with balcony, but ok for one person. LCD TV, small fridge, nice bathroom with hot water and good pressure. Free water bottle refills in the kitchen. Front desk was unattended a lot of the time. Nice sitting/dining areas. I did not try any food as the staff were off for Khmer New Year. The cats are really nice!

Amazing value, Great Owner, Friendly Staff”
Pros: Great location. The owner has great recommendations for fun activities and coordinates logistics (tours) just to make your stay better and not for the money. Felt like a home away from home. As far as cons - just be realistic on what you're paying vs. the accommodation. If you're looking for value - it is easily 2 to 3 times the asking price for rooms. Best value I have found in Asia (and I have stayed in 20+ hotels).

Very impressed with price and is what you pay for. Internet was very fast! Rooms were big but low ceiling. Water pressure could be better in the shower. Safe in room needed key as would not work anymore with batteries. Very good location with 2 mins to main area! Close to school next door who are noisy as early as 5.30-6.00 but not bad just in background. Very happy overall and would definitely recommend for cheap travelers!

    Location, Staff, Comfort
The River Queen Guesthouse is the perfect hotel for any length of stay in Siem Reap. It is only few minutes walk away from the markets and restaurants and bars. Richard and the staff were fantastic hosts ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible, make sure you have the fresh fruit, muesli and yoghurt for breakfast. Served with a plunger of freshly brewed coffee. Can't beat that!

    An Island of Tranquility”
The staff, the peace, the comfort
Unlike seemingly every other hotel we encountered in Cambodia, you could close the gate of the River Queen and step into an island of tranquility. Outside things, like sellers & tuktuks were left behind, and you can relax & enjoy. The wifi was some of the best we have encountered in our trip (good signal strength and fast processing), the room was open and comfortable. The hotel decor is tasteful & restful, with little things taken care of - such as the shaving mirror being at the right place & height for use, rather than being across the room. Services are provided at the town rate, not seen as an opportunity to profit. Richard & Aleks are fantastic hosts, caring & chatty, but also giving space. Would definitely look to stay again.

    Comfortable and Homey”
Good location, Clean rooms, Yummy and Healthy Breakfast, Good Value
Our Flight was late in the evening so we arrived almost midnight...they have an almost 24 hour reception so Check-in was quick and hassle free. Rooms were of good size, clean and well maintained. They clean the rooms daily and provide complimetary water (if staying for more than 1 night, you'll have to replenish it from their water dispenser at the reception area). The place strucked me as environment friendly, with much of the hotel exhibiting/exuding/encouraging proper energy use and conservation. ACs were turned off in the mornings...i wasn't able to figure out what the time frame is but you only get to turn it back on in the evenings. But there were also electric fans provided. it did cause a bit of a problem during a certain day when we got back for a quick rest in the middle of the day. The heat in Cambodia is pretty intense. And not having an AC during the day may be a problem. The place is quite dim as well even during daytime and lights are pretty soft and dim...may cause a few problems as well especially when reading, etc. The hotel offers free airport pick-up if we hire the same tuk-tuk driver for an entire day of tour of the Angkor Wat. We opt not to avail of that as we were not entirely comfortable that we didn't have much choice with the tuk-tuk driver but we ended up hiring their services for the Angkor Wat tour. We did however hire a different tuk-tuk driver on the first day. In both instances, both drivers were nice and in observation, most are quite reliable. The price offered for the tuk-tuk at the guesthouse are of the normal price range in Siem Reap. The staff as well as the owners were helpful throughout our stay especially with us leaving quite early in the morning on our departure day. There was a delay in the car service we requested going to Poipet. But the owners, being awake so early, personally handled the matter. Really good service and good value!

i am an american and i wish to say that this hotel was one of my best places that i've stayed in the past 3 months. the price is very good. excellent value for your money. the staff all spoke english and were so friendly and helpful. there are free bikes to use so you can roam all over this city of 130,000 friendly and wonderful cambodians. so close to everything that you didn't need a tuk-tuk to get to all the restaurants and pubs and spa/massage places.i had a marvelous time due to the australian manager/owner, who was always at the front desk to help give directions or assist in any way. you won't regret choosing the river queen hotel. i will recommend all my friends to stay here.

    Affordable, quiet and relaxing
This guesthouse is run by an Auatralian guy and his partner and they know the area and are an excellent source of local knowledge. The guesthouse is clean, quiet and excellent value. It is a 10min walk to Pub St, but far enough away that you don't get the noise.

nice breakfast and helful in booking angkor wat driver
The hotel is in a convenient location for shops and restaurants. The staff were also very helpful in dealing with an aggressive tuktuk driver we had taken from the bus station. They also recommended a good driver for angkor wat at a good price (the hotel doesn't charge commission). The rooftop jacuzzi was also lovely after such a long day exploring.

Hospitality is alive and well at this hotel.”
Pleasant and caring staff, willing to make your stay the best possible. Informative and kind to everyone.
I am traveling in Asia for five months so I'm in a lot of hotels. This stands out as being one of the most pleasant stays. My only complaint is the lack of stronger lights to shave by, but even this was due to their attempt to be green. They got up and served me breakfast the last day and made me lunch so I could catch the boat to Phom Penh. When the travel agency sent a truck which was overflowing with passengers and bags, and impossible for a handicap person like my self to climb up into....the manager took me to the docks on his motorcycle and stayed with me until my bags arrived. He even carried them to the ship. I will definitely return to this hotel.

I would recommend this hotel for budget travellers/backpackers. It's a reasonable price to pay for a good room, quite spacious, and very healthy breakfast. They served toast or muesli with yogurt, and it's yummy. My partner and I enjoyed our stay here.

Location and the style of the place
We spent a couple of nights here during our visit to Siem Reap town. The River Queen is conveniently located about 500m south of the town centre. The owners have gone to great lengths to present a stylish and reasonably priced guesthouse to travellers. Well worth the stay.

Its hard to contact with the host before we arrived When we arrived, we met the boy like staff of hotel. We showed the booking number and address of The 84 hotel. But he said it isnt. He affirmed our booked hotel has same name with this. Its near market. We tried to call host but no one answer. We had to call the Tuktuk driver came back and we took around. In the end, we cant find any more. We came back and met receptionist. She said sorry. The room is quite dark, so it has some mosquito The blanket is so thin. The bathroom only has 1 mini soap. No more. I never stay there again.
