Everything very good here, staff so helpful and friendly, facilities excellent, touch expensive price for room wise ,
Lovely Property ”
Great location, 5 minute walk to the beach or there’s a complementary tuktuk to take you there. Comfy bed, and a rain shower in the bathroom. Terrific food choices all over from street food to upscale dining. Loved the salt water pool. Hit or miss with the breakfast.
This resort is fantastic! Everything about it is great; the rooms, the comfortable beds, the staff, the location, the swimming pool, EVERYTHING! I will only stay in The Agate whenever I go to Pattaya! Highly recommend this resort.
New and clean. Very nice staff. ”
Great hotel close to the gay street in Jomtien. Close to beach. Everything new and nice. Staff very friendly. They even order us pizza from the pizza company. Good breakfast and 2 clean pools. Nothing to complain about. We come back next year:)
My wife and I were there for 6 days and loved the Hotel. Wevwere not happy eitg the 1st room we were given but Sa was excellent. They did not have a pool facong room on the day but Sa changed our room the next day. The rest of the staff at the front desk and concierge were also fab. Cheers to AGATE.
Great little hotel”
Walking distance to the beach, but they have a free tuktuk that will take you around the area. Great breakfast buffet (mostly Thai but they do have some western selections). Good coffee and breads. This hotel is located near the gay section of Jomtien beach (not an issue with us), but just something to be aware of. The rooms were very modern, clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again. Great staff, very helpful.
Like brand new!”
This place looks like it was just built/ opened (maybe it was?). I had a great experience here and so will you. Great location in relation to Jomtien Complex, not far from the beach, extremely well maintained facility, even by US standards. I would definitely return.
Wonderful small hotel”
This is a great hotel for relaxing with incredible pools and an excellent breakfast. The rooms are comfortable. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I'm planning to change my next reservations to this hotel.
A great hotel in jomtien”
From the entrance (which is surrounded by massage parlours and bars in a mainly gay area) you would not believe that it was possible to find such a great hotel! This really is an oasis and its claim to being a 'boutique resort', unlike some places you go to, is absolutely true. The two swimming pools are surrounded by lush gardens in a surprisingly quiet environment. The four floors just keep it small enough to have all the facilities without the crowds. Everything in the place is well maintained with, of course, the usual smiling, friendly Thai staff. The fourth floor room I stayed in was excellent with a nice balcony overlooking the pool that got just the right amount of sun. At breakfast there was no freshly ground coffee, whole wheat bread, muesli or bacon which I consider a sign of a great breakfast, but the rest - yogurt, eggs, limited fruits and mixed Thai dishes was enough to last you hours up to a late lunch. All in all it’s a pretty amazing place. The trouble is, as always, I want to keep it quiet so that it’s not fully booked the next time I want to stay!
GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY ”
Pattaya Jomtien is a tourist hub. This hotel is a five minute walk from the beach. It's got a pleasant ambience, great staff, is bang in the middle of a whole lot of nightlife, yet quiet enough in the room not to realize it. Everything worked perfectly. From The air-conditioning to the various gadgets in the room. The room service was good. Prompt. The breakfast was very filling and had something for everyone. I'd recommend this hotel anytime. Good value for money too.
The Agate in Jomtien.”
Excellent front office staff. Most helpful and easy to communicate with. A very professional and yet friendly approach to customer service. Housekeeping staff very accomodating and unobtrusive. Two swimming pools...one fresh water and one salt water. A private tuktuk for guests to visit nearby attractions. Lovely room with a balcony overlooking the pool. Large comfortable bed. Splendid bar and restaurant area. Located steps away from bars restaurants and just a few minutes walk to the beach.
A good choice - with room for improvement”
Great location - 10 minutes walk to the beach. Very polite staff with good English. Nice rooms - decent size, comfy beds, nice balconies, great bathrooms, a decent breakfast is usually included. Negatives are - the place attracts a lot of families with screeching children, who swim in BOTH pools, meaning adults have nowhere to relax. Why not make 1 of the pools child free? Rooms have nice balconies - but no chairs to sit on! TV system has very few English speaking programmes.
Nice but overpriced ”
The Agate is a nice hotel. Located in the mainly gay Jomtien complex but away from too much noise, the hotel is only 5 minutes from the beach. It is designed around two courtyards with small, pleasant pools. The rooms are good sized with balconies. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. The room has a cupboard, desk, fridge and safe. English TV channels were limited and reception quality poor. Wifi virtually non-existent in room, needed to be in lobby. Breakfast buffet good, pools nice. The ‘fitness’ area they advertise is two machines outdoors including a treadmill that is unsafe. It is quite a nice place but the negatives mentioned above make its value for money poor and we probably wouldn’t stay again.
In the middle of gay district. ”
1. Room is clean and design very well. 2. Surround have a lot of spa bar and food. 3. In a gay area. For gay, sure will enjoy very nice. 4. The bathroom design is verny nice, i think, there's a chair from stone in the shower, which is very fit for people making love. 5. Theres a chair in the room, also fit for people making love ? But nice, you will enjoy to sit in there for relax. 6. Big aircon, which powerful. 7. Good balcony. 8. Smiley and friendly staff. 9. Swimming pool design is nice. Even in the centre of all people to watching you. But its nice and relax. 10.Good internet. 11.Good and many variety of welcome drink. Not just a so so . 12.For breakfast, the chef cook simple but good ingredient. Except the Omelet is strange taste. Oh, you will see, some gay couple sitting and fitting each other surround hotel area. Its very normal in this district.
Relax in a fantastic resort”
We were greeted on arrival by the staff who directed us to the undercover parking area. We gave a large 4wd car which fitted without problem. The checking in process was fast, and we were given 2 vouchers for a welcome drink around the pool. We later had 2 very nice "mocktails". There are 2 pools-- one saltwater and one chlorinated (lightly). The pools are in 2 lovely courtyard areas with lots of tropical plants. One pool has a huge artificial cliff-face with water cascading down. The whole resort has an attentuon to detail. The greeting at reception was friendly, and check in occurred in a matter of minutes. There is an elevator to access the upper floors. We had booked the cheapest room as there was a good deal on Agoda. The room was lovely, well decorated, modern, and clean. The decoration was in brown tones, with a seoerate bathroom with both a rainforest and hand held shower heads. Thr shower area can have a little bit of water go into rhe rest of the bathroom, as it is set up like a wet room. Thr room has a flat screen TV with english channels, and a balcony overlooking the pool. The large firm king bed was confortable, and the aircon worked well. There are blackout curtains on the windows. Considering this was meant to be the cheapest room on offer, I thought it was of a high standard. Breakfast was provided as part of our rate, and consisted of a buffet with asian and western dishes, and an egg station. The food was fresh and warm. This fairly new resort offers value for money. It is very well designed with very comfortable and well appointed rooms. The staff are young, enthusiastic, helpful, well trained, with a good command of english. The resort is kid friendly, and is a 5 minute walk to Dongtan beach. Thete are convenience stores nearby, ad many good and inexpensive restaurants in the Jomtien Complex. As a frequent visitor to Pattaya over many years who has stayed in a large number of hotels, I would say that The Agate is one of the best genu
Good accommodation for families.”
Just returned from a 16 night stay at the Agate Hotel and definately do not regret booking this accommodation. Checkin was very smooth even thought we arrived late at night. We expected and our room was ready for us. We also provided with a room a quiet location as requested. The Sapphire Family room which we had booked was huge with two super king size beds with good quality bedding a decent size bath room with rain shower and a very nice balcony over looking the pool, which had two chairs a large umbrella and a drying rail. The room also had a large 42inch TV with very good quality picture although no dedicated movie, sport or new new channels were provided. The two pools were clean and adequate for coolling off but not fitness training. The larger of the pools bing about 12m long and the smaller salt water spa pool being about 8m long. The ground were nicely designed with a lot of thought having gone into these. The only down side of hotel is now sea view,
Great place to stay. Beautiful in the middle of Jomtien with easy access to all..
Fantastic spot. In the middle of gay area but very central to all of Jomtien beach road area. Staff were excellent. Definitely coming back..
Must get t.v sorted ”
This is a beautiful hotel with two small swimming pools the staff are fantastic the hotel is spotless rooms are good unfortunately the t.v is useless if you like to relax with a movie
Hotel is clean , staff ok.”
Overall the stay was nice at this hotel. The buffet breakfast is ok not amazing. At end of my stay for 5 nights the staff accused me of stealing a pair of slippers! 150 baht...as if i would spend 8200 baht to have this right at the end. In low season after spending 440 baht on food also. I could not believe the cheek of that. Other than that the location is ok for Jomtien, but a 100 baht motorbike taxi drive to Pattaya. Also the bar is directly outside of many boy bars which is a bit off putting. Cleanliness is fantastic though in the room and decent bed.
