Awesome place”
We just loved the little notes and free chocolates they give every now and then. It was really thoughtful. The location was a little out of the way but it is so close to the airport and it was overall a pretty good place to stay.

Fantastic staff and a lovely quiet location in an old colonial style neighborhood”
There are, of course, pros and cons for this hotel but for us the pros far outweighed the cons. The pros: beautiful hotel, modern and clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet street, the restaurant is excellent and the staff is very helpful...all for a reasonable price (oh...and close to the airport). The cons: it's a bit of a cab ride in Saigon traffic to get to city center, some western guests may be put off by the TP restrictions (old plumbing...make judicious use of the bidet sprayer and TP can not be flushed). We walked the neighborhood and found some nice local shops for coffee, alcohol, C-store items, an ATM and even an air-conditioned Starbucks (coffee at a local shop is better but sometimes you need respite from the heat). Do take the room with breakfast, their restaurant does a lovely breakfast. We were very happy with this lovely place.

Close to the airport. Great for a stopover.”
We stayed one night stopping over between two journeys. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the airport by Taxi located in a side alley in a very authentic Saigon area. It takes 20 Minutes to get to District 1. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel has a nice decor. The bathrooms are a bit outdated. Otherwise the rooms offer good standarts. We recommend it!

Hidden gem in the city ”
Had a wonderful stay in this cute cozy boutique. Rooms were clean and just right. Needing only a day before a long haul so location is close to the airport. The staff were so helpful and also gave us an upgrade on our room since original room were all booked. Breakfast was great. Also gave us breakfast to go for our early flight out. Would stay again!

Highly recommended boutique hotel”
A supernice boutique hotel with stylish and clean rooms & lovely interior, very friendly and dedicated staff, nice rooftop restaurant. An excellent wifi connection. Some distance from District 1, but a peaceful location, restaurants etc. nearby. Worth exploring the smaller alleys on the way to the center!

Cute theme in each room and the lobby. . Made-to-order breakfast. Super close to the airport, 10 min but far away from center of town. Thank god for uber! Small room, had weird smell in the bathroom. Just ok.

Nice stay”
In a quieter area so if you are the first time in town, it might be not a right location for you. Close to airport. Very charm, sweet hotel. The room is on the small size but not too bad. The bathroom is def small but manageable. Not a big breakfast selection but I was absolutely happy with it. Great city view from the top floor while you are having morning coffee.

The Alcove Library Hotel, HCMC - The Best Hotel Stay in Vietnam For Me To Date!!!”
This boutique hotel certainly has its own uniqueness. It has a real library of several thousand books (mostly in English but I noticed that there were some in other languages too). Guests are welcome to borrow any of them. There were four children's books (Dr. Seuss) on the bedhead in my room. Good for those travelling with young children. Even the restaurant (located on the 5th and highest floor - a nice view too) has a book theme (and books!). It's named The Bookmark. I always travel with a few books of my own (not to mention my Ebooks) but it's nice to have access to additional choices. Coming back each evening to a library made me felt very welcome indeed and it was almost like coming home! Each room and floor had framed quotes about books and reading - nice touch! All the staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. A few were quite shy, possibly due to language constraints but there was no mistaking their courtesy. The restaurant served good meals. Breakfast began with a fruit platter, followed by two small slices of baguette with butter and two types of jam. The main course comprised a choice of Eastern and Western meals. Vietnamese chicken or beef noodles (pho), Vietnamese fried rice, etc. Delicious! My room was clean, well kept and in obviously good condition. I have posted photos to friends and family alike and all were impressed. During my stay, I discovered a new author whose books I would certainly look up, and read several books that I would otherwise have not. I was there for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was comfortable, felt at home, made to feel welcome, and I was sorry to go! Would I come back? Definitely YES. There are limited rooms, so you would need to book early to avoid disappointment. I tried to get a room here a few months ago but couldn't. That's my only real regret about this hotel!

Excellent”
The Alcove Library Hotel was a surprise. I found it to be a very nice place, just minutes away from the airport, and off from the main road but close enough to shopping areas and eateries. The breakfast option was good, but outside of breakfast, the restaurant menu options could have been better. They also could use a different batter recipe for the pancakes (try "Aunt Jemima" by Quaker Oats). The tour arrangements were excellent, good value and very educational. The staff was kind and accommodating.

We were on our way back to US and stopped in Ho Chi Minh City for a couple of days before our flight. Boutique hotel relatively close to airport was the right choice for us. Staff was great and food at small restaurant was solid.

left behind ”
Everything went well until we checked out. The night prior to our departure we asked for the hotel car to take us to the airport ( it is free of charge), the concierge said, "ok be down stairs at 6:15am." The next morning we went down stairs and checked out but when I asked about the car I was told that it was not there and that I had no reservation. I informed the desk clerk that I had spoken to the concierge the night before regarding the reservation and he told me, "You did not make a reservation so we will order you a cab." The cab arrived and I had to pay the fee. What began as a great experienced turned into a bad ending. I will go there again but not with the enthusiasm I may have had with a better ending.
