Beautiful secluded resort on tranquil bay”
the andaman it is one of only 2 resorts on the datai bay. the other (the datai) is much more expensive and the pool is a few 100m climb from the beach. the andaman has a large pool with slide for kids 5m from the beach. the rooms are very nice, comfortable with fresh coffee (nespresso coffee maker), iphone player tv and dvd player (take your dvds!). the room had a musty smell when the a/c was on. we asked for a essence oil burner which the hotel provided. this was the only minor issue. the beach watersports center offers kayaks, hobies, windsurfers and snorkelling gear free-of-charge. the beachfront restaurant is great for lunch. there are only 2 other restaurants - we tried the main one and food was good. only problem is andaman is 30-40min drive from everything else on langkawi - that's the price of peace and quiet. for a short relaxing trip to langkawi the andaman is great as there is not much to do there except relax at the pool/beach. if you plan on exploring langkawi on a longer holiday it might be better to stay somewhere more central, eg one of the resorts along on cenang beach. we paid us$200+/night in an off-season period when they were doing some renovation work on the roof of the hotel.

AMAZING PARADISE ten out of ten”
The Andaman is located on Datai Bay which is a stunning and secluded beach, sharing the spot with its sister hotel The Datai- an unbeatable location on Langkawi. As a guest at the Andaman you are able to access the restaurants and bars at the Datai and can easily walk via the beach or take a complimentary golf buggy. Providing an even greater variety for meal times. Our room was beautiful, a corner suit overlooking both the bay and rain-forest. We were fortunate enough to spot many of the wildlife living in the rain-forest from our balcony including monkeys, monitor lizards, squirrels, and many different birds and eagles. The staff & service offered at the Andaman was brilliant. The Food and Drink selection was more than perfect and reasonably priced given the location. Beach Bar was an idilic location especially at sunset, we have seen some of the best sunsets ever here, and have been to lots of parts of the world. The Gulai House, a traditional Malay style restaurant located between both hotels was superb sitting in the rain-forest, and close enough to hear the waves - it was amazing. The food was excellent and staff were knowledgeable on each dish, we give it 10 out of 10. We Would definitely go back and highly recommend it to others looking at visiting Langkawi.

I would like to recommend those who would like to visit Langkawi to stay in The Andaman, a Luxury Collection Resort. Very welcoming & personalised service. My room got upgraded during low season. Vast variety of breakfast spread with a discounted price. Stunning view as we got to witness the sunset & sunrise. Very exquisite. They also have lots and lots of activities for adult & children for FREE!. Jungle tracking & snorkeling class to name a few. They even sent me a personalised letter upon my departure. Love love love The Andaman and will surely visit them again in future!

Luxury Resort, Lush Rainforest and Turquoise Sea”
Overall, we had an amazing experience staying at this Luxury Collection resort. Andaman is indeed a true five star hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a sweet personal concierge. She walked us all the way to our rooms and briefed us on the room's amenities and 'special' visitors of this resort, the monkeys...and like it was rehearsed, they appeared on our balcony. The location of this resort is a bit too far from Kuah Town, or the famous Chenang Beach, but it was not a problem for us since we've rented a car at the airport. Furthermore, to those who want to just spend the holiday not doing anything but sunbathing, or swimming, it is indeed a perfect place. For us, since we travel with family with small children age 6 years, 2 years and 2 months, it was perfect as the kids can play around the kids friendly pool and even at the beach as the water was quite shallow. They also enjoyed walking along the beach in the morning, collecting shells and dead corals. For us adults, kayaking to the private beach nearby the hotel was amazing. The sea was calm and therefore kayaking was not that tiring, especially when we reached the private beach where we could snorkel and lie down on the white sand without being disturbed. The spread was alright but the food was not that good though it was quite expensive. Apart from that, everything else was amazing and we would definitely return for another short getaway.

a luxurious abode ”
this is a very nice hotel with very courteus staff. very nice pool and very clean beach. luxurious rooms with great sea view. the hotel was courteous enough to upgrade our room to sea view room without and extra charge. the view from the room is breathtaking. its your own palace on the beach with great view of the sea and mountains and on the other side is the rainforest. great restaurants especially the one on the beach. very good room service. one should stay at this hotel if you want to relax. in case you really want to see langkawi then stay at some other hotel and this is not because the hotel is far from the city but because once you are at andaman you don't feel like going out of it. the andaman is the best choice for honeymooners or people with small children. there is avery well appointed children's corner with activities and facilities for children from age 3 upto 15. also you can go on complimentry nature walks or go mountain biking. there are many unusual animals in the rainforest and you can see them in their natural habitat without any restriction andwithout any danger. a must visit is the langkawi golf course to which the hotel offers complimentry drop and pick up service. the hotels tea - coffer lounge and bar has a very nice band with a very professional and articulate female singer with a great voice and her male compatriots also sing well and the music is great. the main fine dine restaurant also has live band and the restaurant on the beach is simply out of this world.for business travellers - the hotel has a very well appointed business centre. also there is free wi fi connectivity in the rooms. in addition to the standard tea/coffee maker they also provide espresso maker in the rooms.

Excellent Resort! Definitely Five Star”
Beautiful Resort and well worth the money we spent. We were very pleased with the room - very clean, and big. The pool area has enough lounge chairs and is a nice big pool, even good for families with kids. The beach is clean and not that crowded, and has a watersport area right on the beach. The breakfast buffet was probably the one of the best ones that we had. The only drawback, is that the resort is far from the downtown area (about 30 minute cab drive), and there is not much outside of the resort. Eating options are limited to the Andaman and the sister property, the Datai. We ate at the Gulan house and the Thai Pavillion at the Datai. Both were very good and we would recommend. We played golf at the Datai Golf course and had massage that were great, with the sound of the sea in the background. However, both the golf and the massages are pricey, compared to what you can get in other places in Malaysia.

Wanted to stay longer”
The Goods: The welcome on arrival and speedy check in plus welcome drink was a nice touch. We were swiftly taken to our room in the south wing. Our room was really lovely. We did notice a lot of renovation work going on while we were there and I don't believe we were in a renovated room but for the price we paid for the room we thought this a fair rate and we were really perfectly happy in our room. Breakfast was fantastic. There was a huge selection. Really there was everything you could think of including champagne if you so desired. Really really good. Nature walks - we would highly recommend this. Our guide was lovely and really informative. After the walk we knew exactly what to look out for and we saw flying lemurs, a rare orange breasted squirrel, huge butterflies, macaques and dusky monkeys. Another tip - head down to the beach at 5-6pm and watch the crab eating macaques looking for dinner. Datai access - we booked dinner at the Pavilion at the Datai which was absolutely fantastic and even better to know that we could put the bill on our room at the Andaman and they transferred us their and back. Excellent and very helpful concierge. The Not So Goods: Food - other than breakfast food fell flat with us. In agreement with some of the earlier reviews for a 5 star we expected much better. We tried several of the restaurants and each time the experience was simply ok. We tried both local and international cuisines and expected at least a much better standard of the local dishes. Breakfast (as above) was a different experience. When you are in a really remote location this is something that really matters and we would really recommend is addressed. Overall I would really recommend this place. I would really like to return when the works are complete. It is a fantastic relaxing place and my negatives are only pointed out here in the hope that they are addressed.

Fantastic place to be for couples and families”
Our 3 day stay at the Andaman was fantastic, we were greeted by Zyrille who helped us check into our room. The room itself was fantastic although the sheets felt a bit wet due to the humidity but we had left the fan on for a while which made it a little bit better. The location is fantastic, we were surrounded by trees, animals and the beautiful beach as well. The staff were also very friendly. The restaurants were okay, we managed to try out the Japanese and Malay restaurant and I must say the Japanese rest. can do with a bit of improvement. The staff was not so friendly and the menu was limited. We tried this restaurant out on the first night and just went in and the lady seemed a bit peeved off at the fact that we didnt make a reservation.. didnt start off with a good first impression. The food itself was okay but I wouldn't try it out again. The malay restaurant was fantastic, all the staff were very helpful, friendly and the food was delicious (for me anyway). Other than that, the staff around the pool, the bar and everywhere else was so helpful and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The Andaman offers a lot of activities as well as lets you borrow water sports equipment which was fun. Couples, families with babies would enjoy the resort alot however if you're looking to explore other parts of Langkawi, it may be a bit difficult since the resort itself is secluded. Me and my husband enjoyed our stay very much and it was THE most relaxing holiday we've been to in years. We did nothing but sat in the sun, reading books and relax. One thing that I would like to comment was that we asked for Airport transfer taxi back to the airport and he drove a little bit too fast...I was hanging on to my life back then.. Other than that it was a fantastic experience and if we are ever back in Langkawi, we will be staying at the Andaman!

Luxurious Heaven”
First things first, This is a resort and not hotel. Second and most important, this is the finest resort I have stayed in the whole of Malaysia. Before I tell you how great the room, food, hospitality and landscape is, let me tell you why I love them and not just like them. They had a purpose to their existence or at least what they say and they show. They built the coral nursery and I believe to be the first of its kind in South. Why something as small as this is important as many resorts and hotels has great opportunity to preserve nature and not many of them do anything apart from using nature to earn money. Andaman is not just preserving or breeding Corals but also education guest about the danger of coral being non-existence in future. Apart from Coral nursery, they are also in the middle of 10 million-year-old rainforest and they are not just protecting the nature around the resort but also building and supporting the wildlife within the forest. Not time to talk about the real deal Pro 1) They are part of SPG group and comes with same stature as other members of the SPG group like Marriot or Ritz. 15% discount on food which was good. They also SPG kids pass which I don't much use of, to be honest. 2) Super clean room with elegant furniture. 3) Hospitality at its best - smiling faces all day long. Giving suggestions on what to do and giving better alternatives, was just great. 4) Food - has two main restaurants - one was India, Thai, Malay, Italian food and another one was the Japanese restaurant. I did not try the Japanese restaurant but the other restaurant was amazing. a lot of options to eat. 5) Breakfast - Its the BEST breakfast I have ever had in any hotel worldwide. So many options and the service at breakfast is way above expectation. This comes with the price but its totally worth it. 6) If you are a golfer, you have an amazing golf course nearby the resort. 7) AMAZING beach and really well maintained. 8) Pool size was good with slide, wh

wonderful beach front and rainforest environment”
a superb location for honeymoon, a combination of private beach front and rain forest make us really enjoy our stay in the andaman. friendly staff absolutely help us, nice buffet breakfast with the datai bay beach view restaurant, and what a beautiful nature environment. we got a wonderful room with great view of the rain forest facing datai bay beach. we did enjoy the stay as we can heard the voice of birds around the hotels and at the night we can heard the ocean's wave from our room, it's just nature. we wish we were there with our kids as we just come both of us on our second honeymoon.

Excellent and luxurious place”
I had an excellent time at The Andaman, which does deserve the name it carries, "a luxury collection Resort" in terms of its general ambience, quality of accomodation and finishing, and quality of staff. Being nestled in the rainforest, and having its private beach was a definite plus for me. One thing that can be improved is the speed of responsiveness in serving the food or drink ordered at the restaurants, which seemed to me rather slow. But on one particular occasion when I complained because it took about 25 minutes to serve me my simple one scoop ice cream dessert (!) the head waiter tried to redress the situation with a complimentary coffee which I had ordered, and also to offer his sincere apologies.

An Enjoyable Honeymoon & Birthday Holiday”
It was overall a very enjoyable and unforgettable experience at Andaman Hotel even though it was only a short 3 days stay. When we first arrived, staffs greeted us and helped us with parking our car. Knowing that we are here on a honeymoon, there was a ceremony. We were allowed to choose a tea which was very nice. My wife even wanted to drink it again. With such hospitality right at the first minute we stepped into the hotel, we knew it would be a good experience for us for the next 3days, which turn out to be what we have expected. There were champange & cakes prepared for us, honeymooners in the room which i thought was very thoughtful and nice. The room was neat & cosy. The best part of the room was you could feel that you're in the middle of the rainforest once u open up the curtain. We could even see monkeys! On our last night, we went for the romantic dinner by the beach. Not only was the food delicious, the two staffs allocated to serve us was friendly, professional & service-oriented. Not forgetting the design and set-up of the place, it was like a scene from the movie. My wife and i were very excited and happy upon seeing the set-up and we took tons of pictures. Last but not least, all the staffs at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. We would like to thank Andaman for giving us a great experience and will defintely love to stay at Andaman again if we go to langkawi again.

Breathtaking!”
The Andaman Hotel in Langkawi is breathtakingly beautiful. It is nestled in a lush rainforest with a winding road all the way to the bottom where the rainforest meets the ocean. With a private beach and beach bar, a pool alongside the beach, a spa/massage room overlooking the beach, large rooms, friendly staff and service, and fantastic food – this hotel cannot be overlooked. Why pay more for The Daitai when The Andaman is closer to the beach (on the same private beach as the Datai Hotel) and just as beautiful!

Amazing resort with private beach”
I've been to Langkawi 5 times and The Andaman has got to be my absolute favourite resort in Langkawi. The Andaman is about half an hour drive to Cenang Beach, about an hour to Kuah. But if you are looking for a relaxing holiday chilling, this is the place to be, it has a private beach with a view, a pool, beach bar, you really don't have to leave the resort if you want to sleep in and just relax. The staff at The Andaman are amazing, always friendly and helpful. The rooms and toilets are clean, the bed and pillow are so comfortable, you really want to bring the pillows home. Highly recommended if you are after a nice, easy, relaxing holiday.

Lovely isolated resort”
My wife and me, we chose Andaman because we were looking for a quiet place with good food and good service. Overall we are very satisfied and can happily tick the three items and mission accomplished exactly as we expected. To start with we were very well greeted at the concierge with drum a very refreshing welcome drink and cold towels. After a few minutes of paperwork we were escorted to the room where we were given the details about our room. We were given the rainforest room in south wing. The room is spacious, big bathroom with a rain shower and tub. Only complain would be the balcony which is very small, just enough space to stand and smoke. The room has all the amenities with free coffee, tea, fruit basket and paid mini bar. It was my birthday and exactly at midnight the surprise cake was brought in (arranged by my partner). The cake was decent. To highlight the staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The service around the pool/beach is amazing and the beach is very clean and water is good. Only the corals in the beach could be annoying at times. You can escape the corals and enjoy the smooth sandy beach just a few meters away from Andaman and towards Datai. Food in the two restaurants I tried was delicious with good enough veggie/vegan options for my wife. We opted the couples treatment at spa (spectacular view with perfect location) and it was good. And now last but not the least a must try is the jungle walk. Unless you attend its hard to guess how close you are to the nature at Andaman. Unfortunately couldn’t try the coral walk because of high tide during my stay. One thing which could be better is room service. The staff is friendly but the service can be better e.g. coffee cups were missing after the daily cleanup but when called were promptly provided. Unfortunately this happened 2 times during my 4 night stay.

Special night”
The staffs are great and tremendously helpful. As I'm planning to propose to my girlfriend, I have opted for the special romantic dinner on the beach. The staffers have managed to set up a very nice tent for the special dinner on the beach with bon fire as well. The tent was really beautiful and the food was really awesome. Thankfully, everything went smoothly and she said yes! Thanks specially much to everybody there who helped made this happened, and especially manager Roni and assistant Azizi. Besides the romantic dinner on the beach, this place is really fascinating with its serene beach and water. Its really nice place to go if you just like to do some light snorkeling by yourself. There's many fishes hiding around the corals. I was able to spot sea cucumber, grouper and even stingray. The sand is also perfectly smooth and silky. This hotel is really great for it's price among other luxury collection just around the corner. It is definitely the best location if you are looking for a relaxing vacation. Not so much if you are first time visiting Langkawi, as it is quite far from any other tourists spots.

Absolute relaxation bliss!”
The Andaman is an absolutely lovely hotel in an idyllic setting. t has all of the makings of a good 5* Hotel, good restaurants, rooms, excellent beds, lovely nature etc etc. However, the thing that makes this place special is the quality of service and the staff. The Manager Anne was an incredible lady who welcomes her guests with smiles and well wishes wherever you are. She leads an amazing team of people willing to do everything they possibly can to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. It is clear they love the resort and they make sure you do to! As well as this I would suggest that the Andaman actually offers a very good value for money which is rare indeed for luxury hotels. Never before have I been offered so many discount opportunities on food and drinks be it sunset drinks, after dinner, or just a guests cocktail party hosted by the management team. This really does make you feel that the team are most interested in making you enjoy your stay as much as possible, rather than just emptying your pockets, very refreshing. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone and will likely be back very soon indeed!

Secluded forest & beach location at stylish resort”
We stayd 3 nights at the Andaman. On hearing we were a honeymoon couple we were upgraded to a room facing the beach, and treated to champagne and cake. What was a bother was an error in their system as to our checkout date, meaning we couldn't access the room and it wasn't cleaned for our last day. However on complaining (about the fact that the desk staff were less than honest - slick but slimy - about why this occurred), we were given some complimentary wine. Lovely setting for the restaurants and bars, and reasonably priced (for Langkawi). The only thing we were disappointed with was the amount of trash in Datai Bay and also on the beach (no rubbish bins), which we didn't find at any of the other 4 beaches we visited on Langkawi Island.

Great stay”
It was our first time in Langkawi, Malaysia and we are very happy we did stay at The Andaman luxury resort. The hotel is isolated, secluded, with great beach. There is only one other hotel close by. Long walks on the beach, lot of wild life, yummy food and friendly staff made it really one of the best relaxing holidays we had. Rooms - make sure you book the seaview room and ask the front office staff if there is no sewerage problem in your room - to avoid really bad smell. And do not open or keep windows open - otherwise monkeys will come inside your room. Book romantic dinner on the beach or catamaran trip - well worth it.

A little piece of heaven”
This is the most amazing place to stay and the staff is fabulous. My husband and I recently stayed there for the second time in just a few months because the first time our experience was so amazing we had to go back for more. This time my husband experienced a stingray sting and the way that the staff tended to him was wonderful. Immediately the resort doctor was down on the beach aiding my husband's injury and he was very knowledgeable and clean. The doctor even stopped by our room that night on his way out to check in on him and see how he was doing and then again the next day. His genuine concern for my husbands health was astounding and the entire situation was handled impeccably. Not only is the Andaman one of the best kept secrets I've ever been too but their attention to the guests is just perfect. The restaurant Jala has the most amazing food and the sunsets make for the most romantic backdrop to a fabulous dinner. The wildlife that is around the resort is very cool. You get all the luxury of a 5-star resort and you get your own little zoo outside your windows. The monkeys are clearly very comfortable at the resort and are not afraid to show themselves. The flying lemurs were by far the coolest things I've ever experienced. This is the best place to go and I would recommend it to anyone looking for the most relaxing oasis with the most beautiful beach. We will be back.
