Small Hotel with an Act of Big Chain Hotel”
I must say that I was very pleased with The Athenaeum Hotel. It was in a very good location; nearby the underground and so close with Pret-a-Manger; best quick breakfast place ever ! We had our check-in in the very early morning, instead that we have to wait for quite long, the staff was really kind and helpful as she sent us to have a shower in the Spa and leave our luggage to have them sent it to the room once it's ready. The room is quite small, but so pretty and clean ! It was modernly and glam decorated that made our honeymoon like money-well-spent with its great affordable price ! I would definitely come back to The Athenaeum Hotel whenever I visit London.
Dear Janice, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with me. I am pleased that the team looked after you and and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Kind regards, Wayne Kerrin Hotel Manager
Great service with great location”
Athenaeum hotel has great location and you can walk to the green park , just accross the road, and 5 min. to the tube station ! Walking distance to Coffee shops, M&S food market and other supermarket which is so convenient to hotel guest. It is also very easy to travel to other direction or other main station to get out of the city and you can also just pop on the Big bus , right accross the road to have a great sightseeing of London city and the staffs are so friendly and supportive ! A greact and nice charmy hotel in the city area !
Mr. and Mrs. Schomaker ”
From the opening of a cab door on our first day, booking theatre tickets, opening the door to the private bar/lounge, good morning Mr Schomaker on our first morning as we exit from the elevator, suggestions on if one should use a taxi or the tube, guiding us to Mayfair district a block away ( a secret little district) arranging for a private taxi to the Heathrow. My wife and I thought they assumed we were some Sheik with his favorite wife that had arrived at he Athenaeum Hotel.
Great hotel great service”
A very lovely hotel if you plan to stay a lot in your room. Very generously sized for a hotel in London. You can set the room lighting ambience via a console provided. An ipod speaker also provided. Bathroom is very well designed, and spacious. Location is not bad, walking distance to upclass Mayfair area. Overall a lovely stay for us.
Fabulous Hotel!!!!”
this is a fabulous hotel, i stayed here for 4 nights and i will definitely return to this hotel the next time i'm in london! (it's on the same road as the ritz) love the free wifi and there is a nespresso machine in the room as well. to top things up, everything in the snacks bar (except for alcohol) is free. although i have to admit that the size of the room are pretty compact. after opening 1 luggage, there is barely any space left to walk around the room. that said, i still throughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. the concierge is very helpful and provided dinner options/ reservations on 2 of the nights i was there. service with a personalised touch :)
Athenaeum you cannot ask for more”
It is always a pleasure to stay at the Athenaeum. Everyone one is nice and gives you a feeling like really coming home and not only staying in another hotel.
Great London Hotel”
this is a wonderfully located london hotel for shopping, sightseeing or cultural acticities. it is well run and friendly, the rooms are well appointed and the public areas are beautiful. the cuisine is also first rate and the bar is most attractive.
great stay in London”
This is a wonderful hotel, very well run, with a friendly and efficient staff and a beautifully renovated building. The rooms are large and well appointed and everything is done to make you feel at home. I would certainly stay here again on my next visit to London.
Lovely hotel, great location, excellent staff”
We always enjoy staying at the Athenaeum, the staff are always excellent. Very good position for walking into Knightsbridge. Only fault - bit of a wait for a cooked breakfast (about 20mins.)
great location across from green park. easy access”
We had a wonderful stay at the Athenaeum hotel. Great location with easy walk to The tube. Ten minutes walk to the best sites and shopping in London.
Great location and very good customer service”
The hotel and the staff were extremely friendly and courteous and the hotel is very well situated in a nice part of London. My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The double rooms in the adjacent hotel-apts gave us extra room and put us on a quiet side street. The room had the feel of an apt as much as a hotel room. The only issues were minor ones (TV not working properly, some common areas looking a little worn or dingy). My wife and children were very pleased with the free snack, sodas, cocktail hour on Wednesday evening. I would definitely stay there again.
Outstanding top-end boutique-plus hotel”
The General Manager Simon runs a great ship. Interesting aspects such as the pudding club in the late evenings and some 270 types of whiskey to try. Location is excellent for Mayfair, the Bond Street shopping and the facilities around Berkeley Square and the restaurants in Shepherds Market. Easy walk to Green Park tube.
Great upscale family friendly, conveniently located hotel”
Pros-Excellent kids concierge many little surprises in our rooms throughout trip (board game, soccer ball, wii, candies, fruit) that were a life saver after long days in tourist queues this was brillant. Apt was a great setup with full kitchen for flexible schedules and table and living room area gave much needed hang out space outside of a bedroom. Conveniently located near Piccadilly Circus buckingham palace parks and underground for easy commuting. Overall excellent hotel Cons - Alan at concierge was able to book our trips but not as knowledge or proactive as we are used to. We had to ask many questions to get important details such as ticket prices NOT being included in private tour prices meeting and drop off locations being different! Really just provided brochures - suggest your own research on what activities you want to hit before arriving. Bathroom in apt was also quite small for 4 to share (2 young teenagers and 2 adults was a little much) and half door was a challenge.
Dear Heather, Thank you for your comments. I am pleased that both you and the family enjoyed your stay and found the kids amenities to be useful. I am sorry that Concierge were not very proactive and will ensure that retraining is provided to ensure this is not repeated in the future. I look forward to welcoming you back when you are next in London. Kind regards, Wayne Kerrin Hotel Manager
Weekend in London at The Athenaeum Hotel”
Our room wasn't ready when we arrived which was a bit of a disappointing start to our stay however this was quickly rectified and didn't sully our experience. Lovely hotel albeit quite small but makes up for it in character and impeccable service. The breakfast was especially delicious although massively over-priced, luckily ours was included in our room rate. A great stay, I'd recommend.
Amazing Location however not a very hospitable Hotel ”
This is my second stay in The Athenaeum, my first experience was much better than this time. 1. I spoke to the reception several times for better rates as I was planning to extant my stay for another week in london. Not helpful at all, they were very non schalant and did not bother. 2- I decided to use the Spa in the hotel, the spa staff are very unfriendly & rude. Horrible experience 3-The housekeeping do not clean the room properly & thoroughly. However, they were helpful with requests. The location is amazing, you can't go wrong with this address, however, the hotel staff needs to improve. The doorman & concierge were exceptionally welcoming & helpful. I can't say the same about the other hotel staff. I decided to move to another hotel and would unlikely chose The Athenaeum again.
Geat hotel”
The hotel location is perfect, near Knightsbridge, Mayfair, and Piccadilly . The service is excellent and attentive. The rooms on the small size ESP the standard room, however, the rooms are high tech, the amenity are highend, and you have a high speed Internet for free. Overall the hotel is bombastic.
Perfect Christmas stay ”
This was our first time staying at this hotel and all I have to say is this is one of the best stays we have had. Staff are incredibly helpful and polite, from the always cheery doorman to the waiting staff in the restaurant. We also received a lovely free Fortnum and Mason Christmas gift and got a free upgrade on the room. Outstanding all the way through! Highly recommend this hotel!!
5 Star Accomodation”
The hotel is located right in the middle of London, with easy access to all the transportation networks including buses, tubes and even for short distance walks. The atmosphere was well presented and recieved. Apart form tiny hick ups with the refilling of the complimentary refreshments, the rest of services seem upto the standard of the hotel of this magtitues.
Best hotel in London”
I have stayed here and only here for every time I visit London for the past ten years. First name terms with all the doormen and a named welcome every time we go back. Worth the money for sure
great location ”
