It was great. Had a resturant and a liqour store on the same lot for easy access to food n booze. And a Mexican food place one lot over. Close to everything including SeaWorld and the museums.

The hotel is in a great location. Rooms are clean. Pool is nice. Staff is helpful. They have a few restaurants that you can walk to and a convenience store which is really helpful! I would recommend bringing your own pillows because the hotel pillows are really lumpy and uncomfortable. But aside from that small detail, there is not much else to complain about. We have stayed twice here and will most likely be back!

Nice clean place to stay”
The hotel rooms are nice and clean. The bathroom is also very nice. Room is spacious and beds are comfortable. The freeway is nearby so there is hum of the vehicles that you can hear.

Very noisy rooms, one of the beds had a very uncomfortable mattress, curtain was down when we came into the room, key cards partially work very poorly

I booked through 3rd party with payment due upon check in. When we arrived, we were told that they already charged the card because that’s their practice with 3rd party bookings. We had planned to pay cash. We stayed 2 nights and upon returning the first day, our room was not cleaned at 6 pm. We were told maid service is every 3 days. Our room card keys needed to be replaced every day as they stopped working after every day. The ice machine was so old and dirty, that we decided to purchase a bag of ice. The A/C was so loud that we couldn’t hear the TV unless we wanted our neighbors to hear it too. Only good thing was, that it muffled the music coming from the pool. The room was clean upon arrival. I never write negative reviews but it was pretty bad.

Weed smell everywhere”
As this is not an enclosed hotel, people smoke weed in the balcony or in the parking lot..our room didn't had clean towel, sheets. Bathroom had mold. Not recommended for family with small kids.

I booked my room through a 3rd party and when i arrived at the hotel they told me they don’t have any room available anymore. And that they canceled my reservations. I had to go look for another hotel. Worst place ever!

No frills hotel”
The Atwood is probably great for the location being in the hotel circle area. We were apparently the last to check in hence we had the room on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators/lifts. We had to carry our luggage up a really long flight of steps which was a real chore. I also had to carry my daughter up and down the stairs. The staff was not too friendly and said that I should guve specific instructions if I had wanted the first level but honestly it is my first ever visit to san diego just for the sake of brining my daughter to sea world so what was I to know what to expect? Traveling with a young kid is really quite challenging, and we did not exactly pay budget price for Atwood but honestly it is mor of a no frills motel. We needed hot water for my baby girl and there was none to offer. There was no amenities which for about the same price or a little more, I think I should have just booked something better even for a lit’ more. Glad we only stayed one nite

Poor night sleep”
The sound insulation was severely lacking. The room next door sounded like they where watching apocalypse now until 11:30pm. By the sounds coming from our ceiling all night long, the room above us had what we could only guess where a herd of Caribou that were left to free range around the room until a little after 3:00am. And of course we were right by the stairs, which wouldn’t be so bad if the door had any weather stripping around it to keep if from sounding like every person going up and down weren’t carrying on their conversations inside our room. As for the room itself, the bedding was cheap and we put down towels on top of the sheet so we didn’t have to sleep on the mystery stains. The bathroom was “upgraded” with new items. But the caulking around the sink and in the shower was gone in places, had moldy spots and was not cleaned well. Oh ya, and the shower curtain and rod fell on my wife while taking a shower. Not ever staying there again. When you put lipstick on a pig..

The staff was good, unless very rudest woman lobby. The rooms had very dirty floors, cracked floor, damaged AC. They broke at night, it turned to be very hot. The pillows, the blankets are all dirty. Not recommended, not a safe zone to stay
