Excellent hotel for first time in India....”
The Avenue Regent was recommended by a colleague who has brought groups of women there before. I stayed here with my teenage daughter and two colleagues on the days surrounding a conference. For three of us it was our first trip to India. Great hotel in a wonderful location in Ernakulum, and the staff is amazing. Solicitous and professional, with a real effort to understand and meet any requests. Able to give directions to markets and shops, good restaurants, and arrange cabs. Some of the floors have rooms that are smoking, which we ended up on the second part of our stay. We could have asked for a non-smoking room, but already had laid down our bags after a long day. When returning, I will make sure to ask for a non-smoking room, my only hesitation. Great hotel, great staff, great city.

Consistently good experience”
We have stayed at the Avenue Regent on every trip to Ernakulam. It is in a perfect location for shopping and transportation. Food choices are also good in the area. I save my biggest compliement for Vivek with the travel agency that contracts their drivers to the this hotel. He was a true pleasure to travel with and by the end of our trip, felt like a very close friend.

the hotel room we stayed was spacious and new, probably the rooms have been renovated not long ago but the wash room remains standard. hotel lobby lounge has contemporary design and a cosy place to have some tea or coffee. the hotel restaurant spring offers sumptuous dinner buffet, must try. hotel location is along kochi main road - mg road . easy to find food and shopping. highly recommended if you wish to stay a night or tow in kochi

I stayed at Avenue Regent from 30th April till 4th May 2014. The hotel location is very good on MG road. They have very good food and friendly and helpful staff at the F&B section and bar. The breakfast and dinner meals are good but expensive at RS600 when you can get cheaper and better food outside the hotel and short distance walks away. The beer is not cold. Room service is fast. Laundry service is expensive. When checked in, we asked for extra key card but they said they were running out! for a 4 star hotel?!? We had shared 3 to a room. The bathrooms need refurbishing. Old and toilet seats and bath area need changing as it is all worn. The toilet is also small. More channels on cable and in English too having sports and news channels. If any problem just have to ask to speak to the manager then they will provide better service. The front desk is hopeless and service is very bad. There was a front desk staff names who could not even arrange a taxi for us to the airport and ignored us completely when we were left stranded and helpless. He didn't even allow us to use the hotel phone to call taxi services which we found on our own so we had to make international roaming calls from our mobile phones! Asked to speak to the manager and he said the manager was not around. For a 4 star hotel this is 1 star or 0 star service! Very bad service experience on the last day especially. Very slow checkout. The lady who manages the travel desk is not helpful at all and the hotel rates for cabs for tours is around RS1000 more expensive than getting one off the yellow pages. Do not rent vehicles in Cochin under Kerala drivers, Kerala coach, or Kerala Cars services as they cheat you and you end up being threatened at every turn! very bad service and rip off. I have gone through it and warn you not to undergo the same. Get drivers and cars from Tamilnadu who are more service orientated and polite compared to Keralites.

I have traveled to Kochi for business. This hotel is located in the heart of Ernakulum which is easy to reach anywhere. It is located about 1 hour from airport. In-room dining is very nice what international menu is available. Furthermore, bar at ground floor are good atmosphere for relaxation.

All was good and I did had wonderful stay in the hotel. The best part is the staff, who was very friendly. One of them is Ms. Donna, who I will say is one of the best staff and friendly staff. She will make your stay as comfortable and a pleasent stay in Ernakulam.

Good Hotel. Reasonably priced. City location”
Pleasant stay. When we got to the room, there were two separate beds. However, a quick call to the reception ensured that things got sorted out. Breakfast in the morning was also good Would recommend the hotel if you want to stay in Ernakulam and do some local sightseeing

Modern hotel with good service”
Well located hotel within easy reach of shops and restaurants in Ernakulam. Modern bar and restaurant, both with good choice of food and drink at sensible prices. Front desk very helpful with local information and travel needs. Even tried to get me a ticket for the England .v. India ODI. Fortunately, (in view of the result) they were unsuccessful!

Good Hotel but bad experience”
The Avenue Regent is a classy hotel with good rooms. The rooms are big and the decor is pleasing. The breakfast spread is also very good. The hotel is situated bang in the middle of the commercial hub - MG Road. There are a lot of options for shopping within walking distance from the hotel. But we had one bad experience - While booking on agoda we had been promised a rate - and there was no stipulation that this was for double occupancy. Hence it was presumed that this is a standard rate for double occupancy, I had infact written that I will be travelling with my wife and kid. The hotel then reverted back that they had intimation of only one person coming in and they would charge additional for my wife. It was a clear case of the hotel trying to cash in on the situation. I had no option of cancelling my booking since I was traveling with my family and did not want to take a chance with last minute changes.

Great Locationg, Great food”
This hotel is extremely well located on the famous MG Road. Hotel has an excellent Chef who heads the kitchen and the food on offer is EXCELLENT. The hotel has a coffee shop attached which serves some mouth watering sweet treats. The rooms are big and comfortable, The room service is good and quick. The hotel has a nice bar /lounge on the ground floor which serves a good range of drinks. The hotel crowd consists of a very good / elite crowd hence the hotel is able to maintain its high standard. The Business Center Desktops were the only disappointing factor. PC's using windows XP. Desperately needs to be upgraded.

this was the nicest hotel we have stayed at in our 3 weeks in india. the sheets were clean, the air con cold, the room was comfy, and the buffet was delicious. it is very close to shopping, and the staff was friendly and helpful. we got an airport transfer through the hotel at 4 am and they there right on time. we were charged usd for an extra person upon arrival, so keep that in mind when booking.(i was not able to add the extra person on the agoda site) great hotel for the money!!!

Great service and comfortable stay”
Great Service and the stay was comfortable. We checked into an Executive Club room. The room was ideal for a family with young kids. Room service was prompt and so was housekeeping. The only issue was that F&B was on the higher side and hence like me most customers would prefer to dine out. If the F&B prices were reduced by say 30% for in-house guests, I am sure a lot of them would avail of the same. Breakfast was good and the menu was just perfect. Would definitely like to stay in this hotel during my next trip to Cochin.

Lovely hotel and very clean”
The AvenueRegent was in a great location, large rooms, linen and cleaning done daily, lovely buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner if needed. The prices were very reasonable and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. There was only one disappointment, I requested a late checkout as my flight was at midnight, I had to leave at 4pm or pay a further 50 Australian dollars for an additional 4 hours in the room. Also had tea and coffee making facilities and room service.

I was traveling with my parents and one of the rooms required an extrabed which was arranged very well by the staff. Since this was my 1st visit to Kerela I also got loads of information from the hotel staff regarding the tourist places and traveling options inside the city... House keeping was apt and the linens had no complaints The breakfast spread has good options to satisfy ones pallette and freshen up your mood for a good start of the day

Comfort and convenience”
The three of us stayed at the hotel for 3nights and were very pleased with the services here. We were upgraded to a suite and the hotel kept our booking despite our late check in. The suite was spacious clean and very comfortable. Our request to have the door latch was attended to immediately and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was equally good with a range of local and western food. I will definitely choose to stay here for my next visit.

the stay was comfortable, room service was quick, hotel wifi was good, but you will have to buy 2 separate logins if you want to use 2 different devices. I had the iPad and a laptop. I was told I can't interchange as one login will be registered to only one device. Food is expensive . Breakfast buffet is lavish . But it's location is its strong point . Clients who were invited for meetings at the hotel were happy as it was in the most happening part of the city. Cabs booked here are expensive. Around 1000 rs for pick up and another thousand for the drop and you get a small car for that. If money is not an issue , this hotel is definitely good.
