When I give 3/5 for cleanless, it doesn't mean that the room is dirty. It could be better but it is already good. Bed sheets could be change more. In 10 night stay, first time it was changed after 5 nights and second time after 3 nights. Towels are changed every day. And second negative point are the pigeon dropping on the ground outside of the room. It is easy and cheap to go to the old city or anywhere if you use the Grap app on your smartphone. You are far from all the noises of bars an airplanes. Breakfast is good but could be better. Staff is very kind. Thai smile. Hotel is very good for the price.
Great for the price and where it is”
We stayed here over New Year as many other places were booked out. It is great for the price and location but is quite a basic hotel. The room was the best part as it was nicely designed and large. The pool was too cold for us but the area looked inviting. No bar/restaurant was available after breakfast and there isn't much within walking distance. We used Grab to get in and out of the city each day for about 90 per ride so it can get a little expensive. Staff were friendly and overall it was a pleasant stay.
+Good location and beautiful room - Can't sleep well because of the noise from AC -Balcony not clean
Quiet, Romantic hotel”
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Large, clean rooms. Water temperature is slightly difficult on the top floor and isn’t the best pressure. Otherwise it is a nice and private hotel. Good for a couple or people who don’t want to stay in the city. Transportation is very easy.
One of my favorite places to stay!”
There are not enough good things to say about this hotel. The staff was wonderful, accommodating and informative. The rooms were impeccable. The food was the best that I had in Northern Thailand (I had food poisoning prior to our arrival here, and I swear the tom yum soup brought me back to life!). I loved spending time relaxing by the pool. The Balcony was hands down the highlight of our stay in Chiang Mai-an escape from all the hustle and bustle.
Beautiful hotel similar to a bungalow. The rooms were large and spacious and the swimming pool was nice. The cafe had a nice outdoor and relaxing setting. A great value for money and room for relaxing.
After taking a motorbike trip through the mountains and we decided to book The Balcony for our last night in Thailand. Our room was beautiful, clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We were impressed with the breakfast and the staff was very friendly. As you can see on the map, the hotel is a bit far. Although it looks like it might be walking distance to the bus station and some attractions, it is situated near a highway so you probably wouldn't want to walk. We booked knowing that we would need a taxi to come and go, which was fine for a night. We did need to wait about 30 minutes for a cab to come. Just something to consider. Overall we were very happy. I loved the room and I could happily relax at The Balcony for a few days!
I love this hotel ”
Stayed here for 2 nights, I have to say the staff friendliness really makes this hotel a great place to stay. Though the location isn't that great, but overall experience was great. Would definitely come back again
The Balcony Chiang Mai village is a very good hotel. When I stayed there last week with my family, it was my first time but I really enjoyed my stay there. I plan to stay there again if I ever go again to Chiang Mai.. satisfaction guaranteed! Good room and friendly staff.
Many bugs, got bite on eyelid”
Room is spacious, warm wood decoration. Mattress is fine but it is combined from 2 single bed to a kingsize. I made me cannot sleep at the middle though I stayed alone. Full of bugs, all over the place, bed and bathroom. I woke up from 3 mosquito bites, 2 at hands and 1 on eyelid! I totally don't remember my face in the morning and needed to wear sun glasses for a half day! Breakfast should have more choices.
Stayed here with parents when they visited us very close to where we live in Chiang Mai. Perfect location in my opinion because close enough to the city, but not in it, so also close to outside activities and superhighway which will get you to most activities. Great staff. Beautiful authentic Akha themed decor and style. Great coffee, good food, lovely salt water pool. A few shops and 7/11 in walking distance. Right on a semi busy street, but not noisy and we really couldn't tell when we were inside!
First the good, saltwater pool and big rooms. The bad, location was far away from anything and transportation was expensive and even had hotel adding onto the price if they called a taxi to take you to airport, shame on you ! Rented a motor bike for 3 days from hotel for 250 Baht per day and after only putting about 30km on bike was charged 100 Baht additional, only used 1/8 of tank. Got the grand delay room for 4 days and the sheets were never changed. Staff did just enough to get by .... Perhaps that's the reason we only saw three other people during our entire stay. Way over priced !
The most peaceful hotel I have ever stayed. You can literally spend the whole day in the room. It's about 20 mins drive from hotel to the night Bazaar and walking Street. 15 minutes walk to Tesco n Meechok Plaza. Th e fang coffee place is really a nice place to chill out. Love the cakes there. This hotel is highly recommended.
Very good place”
This is a great hotel in ChinagMai which is super cozy and comfortable, and with great facilities. The food of cafe was very delicios, and the staff go out of their way to assist. A great place to stay in Thailand!
Very very very nice”
The hotel is a little bit far from the coty center but they provide a free ride with luxury minivan to the nightbazaar that leaves the hotel at 7.00pm and pick you up at 10.00pm ti bring you back to te hotel. The pool is really nice, the rooms are perfect as well as the welcome. Breakfast is very good and various. We highly recommend this hotel.
Boutique Hotel with 5 Star service! ”
I'm not the ones to write review about hotels however I couldn't stop myself writing this. My experience at this hotel was awesome, despite being a small boutique hotel they gave us 5 star service. For some people location a drawback but not for me. The major drawback for me personally is the water pressure in the shower (it was too low) not sure if all the rooms are like that. My friend and I never had a problem arranging taxi/shuttle to anywhere we wanted to go (all you have to do is ask the hotel and pay them when you check out) We asked the hotel to help us hire a car with driver for us for all day private tour and it was done flawlessly. We were running a bit late in that morning and called the restaurant to help us prepare breakfast in advance and to my surprise when we arrive the restaurant the breakfast was at the table :) The hotel staff understood English very well. We have asked them for toothbrush and Champagne glasses they provided us. While we were out on a tour I realize we forgot the champagne in the freezer so we called the hotel and ask them to keep it at the lower compartment surprisingly they did that for us too! This is a small boutique hotel with 5 star service, truly Thai hospitality! I have no complains at this hotel - pool was great with jacuzzi and you can order some alcohol/non-alcoholic drinks by the pool too. I am glad I chose this hotel. Nightmarket was 15-20mins away by taxi/tuktuk, so is Sat/Sun walking street. It would cost around 150-200thb from night market back to the hotel. Central Festival is also 5-10mins away by taxi/tuktuk. Some tuktuk drivers will make excuses and say the hotel is far but it isnt that bad. We have even tried out the Kiyora Spa which doesnt belong to the hotel but you can find the voucher at the front desk. Kiyora Spa is 20 mins away from the hotel and they offer free pick up and drop off..love it :)
A welcome break at the end of the day ”
Everything about the hotel was more than satisfactory . Room comfort , cleanliness , friendly staff , excellent food , breakfast choice was a little limited , but enjoyable . The car parking is difficult , so avoid arriving at lunchtime , as the restaurant is busy then with locals . By far the worst aspect of the hotel is the signage . We had great trouble finding the entrance even though we drove past it twice . At night there is less of a problem as the hotel sign is brightly lit . Is it 4 star? I don't think it compares with the 4 stars in the centre of CM , but it is a very comfortable place to stay and good value for money . Would we stay again ? We did , a week later and were equally satisfied
Wonderful hotel ”
Stunning hotel, tastefully designed and decorated in traditional Thai style, using only the highest spec materials. This place was our favourite hotel since travelling Sourh East Asia, over 3 months. Everything was catered for, I can't think of one thing missing fro the room. The rooms were huge and just so wonderful to come back to after a day in the hectic city. What made this hotel very special was the staff, they were all so attentive and genuinely caring. There's an amazing cafe on site too, serving fantastic coffee etc, I would rate this hotel as 5 star but the location is at little far from the city but only 15 mins by scooter or taxi. But we loved it here and miss it already.
Perfect! You feel like home”
Our room is very very nice and clean we are just happy with everything actually the staff are spoiling us, a free trip every night to the markets in a cozy air-conditioned van we would come again to chiang mai and definitely will stay here, its just the location is a weakness point
Hotel itself is nice, the rest need improvement”
The stay wasn't that bad, but we expect more from the price. We visit chiangmai regularly so we knew that we should pay a little more to get a far better hotel. We saw lots of good comments so the expectation was high. Once we were there, our deluxe room isn't as big and cozy as expected. The decoration is good but not recommend to family with young kids since they are all with sharp corner and the slippery floor. The tiny salted pool is good enough for my 2 yr old daughter. Breakfast was poor, tiny portion, believe me, with this price in Chiangmai, you should get a bigger and better breakfast! The worst thing is the parking, the coffee shop guests occupied all the parking space. Shouldn't they reserve certain space for hotel guest??? Lastly, the staffs are on their way to be a professional service staff, but it's a long way still. Definitely won't go back to this hotel.
