Wonderful honeymoon resort”
My wife and I loved The Baray Villa in Phuket. We stayed at three different resorts over the course of two weeks. In my opinion, Baray Villa was the best value proposition. Beautiful facilities, visually stunning room, friendly & accommodating staff. We did a 2-for-1 couples massage at the spa as well. In our experience, the spa massage treatments were well worth the money. We would gladly stay here again.
Oasis in much too crowded and busy Kata”
We loved this hotel for its culture, style, art work, pools, helpful staff, quiet, comfortable rooms and respite from an area of Phuket that I found much too crowded, busy and run down. The beaches were very close, there were many places to eat cheaply. If you want to be in the midst of it all: this could be your spot!
Had a fun time here, the private villas are really wonderful. Like a mysterious jungle retreat. They could use a little more training on how to treat arriving guests. But overall, I recommend this hotel if you stay in the Baray Villas. The decor everywhere is quite beautiful.
Best vacation show stopper”
Spend your last night here for an ultimate memorable holidays. Spend two night if you rich like Thaksin Shinawatra. For honey-mooner you wanna Bang!- Bang! Bang! in this place. For family with kids, your children will always remember your trip. For husband, you can rub this in your wife face when she nagging in the future. The ultimate relaxing place and a mind blasting experience.
The hotel is very beautiful and quiet, it's really good for relaxing after working so hard. Stuffs are nice and kind one thing we don't like it there is the tub water, It was very brackish, me and my boyfriend felt a little bit itchy (but my mom and dad doesn't ) but for the rest were okay :) nice pool and breakfast anyway. Will looking forward to visiting there again. Thanks
Nice rustic feel, staff service could be improved.”
We love the rustic feel and beautiful architecture of the resort, the big pool just outside of the villa (could be cold when there is no sun shining on it, which is most part of the day since it is well shaded by trees). Rooms seemed to be a bit old, but nothing major we should highlight. However, we thought the staff service could improve. We had to call / drop in 3 times to see if we can check out later due to late flight, but was told to wait or come back again as they need to check with manager, only to be refused on the 3rd time. (could have just said no at first if room was booked!) Evening turn down service was not as stated in their guest info book in room, the staff was in and out in less than 1 min, just to spray mosquito repellent and draw the curtains in a big hurry. Should update that book if they are no longer providing tea and other complimentary services during turn down. Good location in Kata, close to shops and food places. Nice resort and architecture, but staff service can really be improved especially for this price we paid.
Love the interior design”
The staff is very helpful , love this villa interior , its beautiful ! i could spend my whole day in this villa , there's a swim up bar and also a jacuzzi in your room that link directly to a private pool and main pool thru a small gate . The breakfast has wide variety of food choice. Amazing villa and will definitely be back
Unforgettable experience. Will visit again!!”
Absolutely enjoyable, Baray Villa is one of the best resort I've been to. Will definitely choose Baray again when we are back in Kata. Room was fantastic, HUGE, confortable, well-equipped and romantic. Direct access to the private pool from the living area was a plus point. Staff are friendly, well-trained and speak pretty good english. We even have our 24hour personal assistant. Summing it up, AWESOME!!!
Immaculate service and attention to detail.”
This property is located at the Kata-Karon beach area, within one block of the beach itself. Our two-storey villa had its own Jacuzzi and a private pool which connects with the public pool for the 14 villas' residents (with a pool bar at the far end). For the budget traveler, they also offer a selection of sala apartments with triple pools. All in all, we were very satisfied, especially with the great cooking class which starts 11:30am each day. Word of warning for travelers in this monsoon season is that the rip currents do take lives away.
Amazing decor and ambience”
Photo opportunities everywhere you look - simply stunning. Rooms are huge, air con works very well and being able to step into your private pool is wonderful.
nice new rooms/swimming pool”
we had a stay at the new part of the baray villa. this part has an stunting swimming pool with thousands of little led lights at night. its like you are in an animation film atmosphere. very pleasant stay. love the place!
rude manager ”
beautiful villa but the manager i had to deal with more than once is very weird and very rude. i asked for breakfast in the room and she loudly told me IT S EXTRA CHARGE. i said yes it is fine. she didnt have to yell i am not asking it for free. she scold one of the staff infront of me it was very awkward. they forgot our breakfast in room the next day we waited and had to call two times. when they brought it it was missing some plates. the manager had so much attitude. i won t comeback there just because i don't wanna deal with her.
Great hotel and even better restaurant”
We loved the restaurant of this hotel! Had lunch and dinner here several times. The villa's were nice and super large, we stayed here with 3 persons and there was so much room. It was a bit pricey though for 2 nights, but overall very nice. The location of this hotel is good as well, scooter rental in front of the hotel, and many shops and bars in walking distance.
Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Beautiful villa. Rather expensive but value for money. Would help if the private Jacussi was heated and the swimming pool water was warmer. All the trees around the Villa made it private but dark and cold. They have a lovely swim up bar at one end of the long pool and a fountain at the other end which is just for the 12 Villas. However no-one used the pool, the bar or reached the waterfall as the water was so cold. The pool access rooms at the Sawasdee Village looked great. The village have their own pool which received a lot more sun. Baray Villa guests can use this pool but sun loungers were limited. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach.
Best Hotel We've Ever Stayed At”
Absolutely the nicest place we've ever stayed. The Villa was unreal- pool went into the living room, amazing bed and bathroom, fast internet, and the décor was out of this world. You feel like royalty the entire time you're there, you feel miles away from everything. The spa and food is also amazing. The staff could also not have been friendlier- we checked out at 3pm (no extra charge) and our flight wasn't until 3am, and they let us spend the entire afternoon and evening lounging by the pool and napping. Just the most incredible place to stay. Only critique- the drinks weren't that good, but you don't need booze to enjoy this place.
Harem in the East”
The room we stayed in was amazing with its ornate decor and furnishing. We were transported to another world and wished we had more time to bask in the luxury. The pool access was alluring, but the water was just too shallow to have a nice swim in the 'private pool' and too cold to swim in even when we entered the main canal pool. We took some gorgeous photos in the room, though, and I'd say it's definitely spectacularly beautiful aesthetically. The bathroom is big and spacious, even though the placement of the tub was strange. It was huge and fit both of us comfortably, though. The hotel could, however, have provided bath foam and salt. The internet access in the room was fast and the macmini was useful, especially for internet buffs who love Youtube etc. We also made complete use of the footbath at the foot of the bed. It was especially welcoming after a day on the feet, walking to the beach and back. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We are usually no-fuss customers, so there aren't any outstanding stories to tell of their friendliness. My favourite part of the hotel is definitely the decor, interior design and furnishing. It truly is an oasis in the middle of hot and sunny Phuket.
Total luxury, beautiful villa.”
Sawasdee Village doesn't look much from the road, but it is beautifully designed so when you enter you feel like you are entering another world! The Baray Villa was away from the main village and felt exclusive and luxurious and was so quiet and peaceful compared to the craziness of Phuket. The villa had everything we needed and more, the website and descriptions do not do it justice: from individual foot spas, to the biggest bath I have ever seen, to a balcony overlooking the private outdoor jacuzzi, to internet on the 42" TV, to an in-room library...and more! Some ointment for insect bites was even provided that was useful later on in our holiday, we didn't need it at Baray Villa. The location was 15min walk to the beach, with a complimentaty shuttle bus if you need it. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was great, although not cheap, but outside of the hotel there are plenty of locak restaurants to choose from. The location was great for organising tours and trips around Phuket or the local islands. If we could afford it, we would definitely return but this was our honeymoon so a bit of a one-off I think!
Beautiful Villa, ”
Staff was very attentive and the Villa was absolutely beautiful. The private pool for villa residents made for some great photo opportunities. We never ate dinner at the restaurant, but there are so many options right outside. They offer a shuttle to the beach, but honestly, better to just walk 10 minutes at your own pace. I would highly recommend this for the villa experience, very private and ornate.
When we stay at this hotel, we already noted to the hotel that we are honeymooners, so we were in the biggest villa, have a private garden, have a welcome decoration for honeymooners. It's very beautiful villa with many details in it, we really have a private time in this villa, relaxed with foot spa, huge bathtub, private jacuzzi and private swimming pool that connected to the big pool and the pool bar also. We have a super king bed size that makes us really comfortable, friendly staff with good english is also really helpfull for us. It's really nice for honeymooners. Soon we will back again for our next anniversarry. We really enjoying our stay :)
Great for honeymooners”
Excellent hotel suites for honeymooners that you need not step out of the villa at all. Very self contained and kitchen will be happy to custom to your appetite even if you're not feeling well. Nice serving staff and Personal Assistant to each individual villa.
