absolutely a wonderful place to stay”

staff, ultra modern rooms, cleanliness, wifi, and location

Prior to reserving our room at The Bauhinia, we had read previous reviews. We were aware of the steep hill, leading to the street where the hotel was located. We also followed another reviewers advice and took the pleasant shortcut through Knutsford Terrace. In reality the hill is only a problem when trying to pull your luggage. You can always take a cab. Also, the hill does have steps on the sidewalk. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean. The rooms were ultra modern with very comfortable beds. We were upgraded to a larger room (178). The room was very comfortable, plenty of space. We checked out the smaller rooms some of the reviewers had negatively commented about in their reviews, and found the rooms to be quite adequate and comfortable. Its Hong Kong for goodness sake. Space is at a premium in Hong Kong. If you want a large comfortable room you can stroll in, then book a room at the Fours Seasons at $500 a night. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and very helpful. The K4 express bus to the airport was down the hill, on the corner. Total cost to airport by bus and train for 2 people 30USD. You might as well take a cab for 35USD. The hotel will call a cab for you. The hotel is located a few blocks from the metro on Nathan Ave. It is in the heart of the TST area. Nearby the hotel, you have your choice of high end meals (Knutsford Terrace), or you can eat with the locals at many of the nearby restaurants. The small restaurant across the street from the hotel, serves a great breakfast and lunch at a very reasonable price. The owners are also very nice. You can reach the hotel (shortcut) through the Miramar Mall, up the escalators to Observatory Ct. , out the door, pass Starbucks to Knutsford Terrace. This was a great hotel. As I said before the front desk staff was especially nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Phenomenal value with unbeatable location.”

Great views, great value, great location

i am a huge fan of hong kong and have travelled there several times for personal and business. we had a group of 8 family members on this trip and were trying to be budget conscious but still stay in tst close to the action which is hard in hong kong. i found this hotel and read many reviews and looked at a map and decided to take a chance on it. what a great chance it was - when we arrived at the bottom of the street, i knew exactly where i was and it was a great location. 1. ride the airport express from the airport and get off at kowloon station and go upstairs to the free shuttle terminal. ride shuttle k4 and get off at stop 4 - empire hotel. you will be dropped at the curb on the corner of kimberley and observatory. go up the hill to your left - yes many people in these reviews complained about the hill but you walk up it twice a day at most because you're not in hong kong to hang out in your hotel. there are steps on each side for when you don't have your luggage. its a bit steep but its short so don't let this deter you at all from booking this fabulous hotel. 2. my favorite restaurant in hong kong is just around the corner - come down the hill from the hotel and turn right on kimberley road (don't cross) and go down a few minutes towards nathan road and look for "nomads - hong kong's favorite mongolian bbq" it is a foreigner hangout and has some amazing food - go for lunch as its more than half the price of dinner and you only lose a few things off the menu. 3. before you get to nomad's you will see the wellcome mart on kimberley road - its basically a small grocery store - stop in there for fruit, snacks, water, and other drinks. there is a small fridge in your room. 4. mtr - you can ride this anywhere in hong kong and its great. follow the signs at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. you can use exit a2 or b2 at the tst station (not east tst).

nice, quiet hotel with comfortable rooms”

comfortable rooms, good price

this was my first time staying at the bauhinia. for the weekend i stayed, it had the best price out of the available tsim sha tsui hotels. it was well worth it. it is a little bit of a walk to the hotel from the tst mtr that includes a little hill, but it's a nice walk. you might not want to walk there if you have a lot of bags. the hotel is tucked away on small hill in tst, so it's quiet. but, it's not far from the thick of tst action. there are actually 2 irish pubs right across the cul de sac. the check-in and check-out were very easy and the staff was super nice. the room was very comfortable and of good size. i think there was free wi-fi, but i didn't get a chance to use it since i was busy most of the time. overall, it's a very nice hotel and i would stay there again.

Awesome hotel in Heart of Tsim Sha Tsui (TST)”

This was an awesome hotel for a very affordable price! Staff spoke perfect English. It was immaculately clean and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful. Amazing shower with water pressure I have never felt anywhere else in the world. Hotel is located right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, right by the harbor. I felt safe roaming the area day and night. So much to do and see within a short walk. And there is a MTR station nearby so all of Hong Kong is easily accessible. To get to hotel from airport, simply use the Airport Express train from airport to Kowloon station, then take their Bus K4 to Empire Hotel Kowloon (stop 4). Hotel is then just up a little hill. Buy digital tickets for Airport Express Train on Klook App ahead of time and scan QR code on phone once leaving the train at Kowloon station, then catch free K4 bus from there. Could not be easier transportation! I highly recommend this hotel in Hong Kong!

Excellent Hotel”

The Bauhinia Hotel After searching for hours in the internet for a good accommodation in Hong Kong, The Bauhinia Hotel seems to tick all the boxes. In reality it really did & I'm glad I made that choice despite some negative remarks in TA. The room was clean & just the right size, T&B was ok and toiletries stocked up daily, love the windows with the view of trees on one side & the street on the other. After walking for miles - I think I racked up a total of 21-25 km in my 3 days stay - it was important for me to go back to a room that was quiet & nice. Location was great within walking distance to TST & Jordan station and some attractions. It was tucked away from the main road hence it was quiet. There was a short uphill climb which I didn't mind. I went through the Knutsford Terrace and The Mira to Nathan Road so it wasn't really bad even for the elderly. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again when I go back to HK.

Tightly packed in a tightly packed city”

location, staff, cleanliness, free internet (lan), complimentary toiletries & water

we stayed for four nights, three days and that was adequate to see the sights and enjoy a taste of what hong kong has to offer. the room was on the 15th floor and had some excellent views of the hong kong skyline. there was a lcd flat screen with usb connectivity, a dvd player, tea and coffee with the usual bathroom condiments available and topped up daily. the bed was comfortable, likewise with the pillows. the towels and linens were also refreshed daily. the air con was a little on the cold side, given that we stayed in february and, having spent five months in the sweltering heat of thailand and south east asia it was a shock to the system. nonetheless, it worked and would be fine in the heat of summer. the tv selection was adequate and there was also a safe for any valuables etc. and you got free internet via the lan connection. it was a non smoking room which was an inconvenience for me, but that is the price i pay for having a filthy habit. be prepared for a lack of space, although some reviews would have you believe that the rooms are tiny, they are not and there is enough storage space to pack away any bags or cases, which you may have. after all, it is hong kong and in my humble opinion, it added to the charm. boutique is definitely a word that i would use. noise was a slight issue, and i was woken up on a few mornings by my neighbouring guest, with her mobile and then insistent banging of her cupboards. but again, these are tightly packed rooms in a tightly packed city. with regards to location, it is perfect, you have tsim sha tsui on your doorstep, with some irish bars opposite, a laundry shop which does a full wash, dry and return in three hours for a very reasonable price and the mtr station approximately five minutes away. likewise, check out knutsford terrace, with the numerous bars and eateries, which is also on the the doorstep and very lively on a friday and saturday night. the avenue of stars and hong kong central itself are within walk distance.

Good experience ”

My husband and I were in Hong Kong for 4 days 3 nights. We stayed in The Bauhinia Hotel in TST. We booked a superior room originally, but to our pleasant surprise, they gave us a free upgrade to a room with sea view upon checking in. The view is gorgeous. The room is very spacious too. It's equipped with a small fridge, which come in handy as we have brought with us some foods that needs to be kept refrigerated. The bed is big and we loved it. The hotel is about 12 to 15 min walk to both Jordan and TST MTR. The slope leading to the hotel is not a big issue for us. However if you have elderly with you, you may want to reconsider. It is really quite steep. If you come with a big luggage, get a cab. If not you might have trouble pushing it up the slope. There is free breakfast refreshment but don't expect too much of it. There is mainly crackers, buns and fruits. And some milk, tea, coffee as beverage.

Great location; comfortable, quiet room”

The Hotel Bauhinia TST is located in a fantastic location, right in the midst of some great restaurants and an easy five minute walk to TST or Jordan station. I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room (by Hong Kong standards). While it may seem a strange thing to focus on, the rainfall shower head and high water pressure was a particular delight. As previous commenters have noticed, be warned that the information shown by Google Maps is incorrect and that the hotel cannot be reached using Observation Rd from Nathan Rd. Two bottles of free drinking water are supplied free of charge each day, and the hotel has a lounge stocked with coffee, filtered water, small muffins and apples for all guests. The only improvement suggestion I could make would be the inclusion of a Handy smartphone that many other hotels offer, although local travel SIMs are very affordable. I'd definitely stay again, this hotel is a hidden gem.

the bauhinia hotel-tst is a great boutique hotel for couples to stay. i've a sea view superior room for 2. the room is very clean. although this hotel is located on a high area where you have to walk up a steep slope, my overall experience with this hotel is still as good. the location of this hotel is good. it is near to tst mtr station, shopping centre & many food near by. there is asian food & western food for you to choose. just opposite the hotel are nice pub for you to chill. just along the slope, there is a japanese restaurant. i will definitely return to this hotel for my next visit to hong kong.

Very proper hotel compared to other HK tiny rooms”

proper hotel, nice look with all the amenity.

The room surprisingly looks even better than in the photo. Hong Kong is well known for its expensive living quarter. Most hotels offer tiny room but not in this Bauhinia hotel. It is located on ~10 floors in a building between Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan. It is not that of a great location but good enough. You have to climb up hill a little to reach the hotel. The room I stayed is on 17th floor which offers an ok view. Anything below 7th floor in any hotel basically has no view as all other buildings block away everything. The room/toilet is clean and modern. No breakfast is provided. Wireless internet was offered ( in room and lobby ) at no charge. I was very satisfied and will stay here again if ever visiting HK.

this was a last minute booking and the price was so reasonable i didn't expect much in tsim sha tsui from this hotel. i could not have been more wrong. it was the nicest hotel room i have ever had in hong kong with a great view of the harbour, easy walking distance to nathan road, free wireless internet, good service. this was everything i expect not to find when in hong kong at a very reasonable price. it will be #1 on my list of hotels to search for future business trips to hk.

Great location, modern interiors, free wifi and friendly staff

i booked a room in the bauhinia hotel only after my work had booked me into possibly the worst hotel in all of hong kong. as a result, i was booking a room on my own dime and my expectations were minimal. i was searching for a place based mainly on value. this hotel more than met my expectations, it was clean, modern, friendly and offered me more than enough amenities (hairdryer, wifi, slippers) to make my stay pleasant. usually when you book into a hotel at a good rate you end up paying for all the "extras." i would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to hong kong as it was everything a hotel should be and more.

Difficult to Locate, but worth the journey! ”

Very clean, modern furniture, air conditioned, close to shopping, western food a step away!

Although finding this hotel was somewhat of a treasure hunt; the hotel turned out to be a hidden gem in the Tsim Sha Sui region of Hong Kong. The rooms were very clean and bathroom facilities were both state of the art as well as gave a "close to home (Canada) vibe." The bed was very comfortable and sizeable for a couple to sleep without issue! Air conditioning, iPod speaker jack, free amenities, free large bottles of all seemed to be an added bonus. As well, this room was the first to have a view of the harbour in two directions, with a view of the shopping district to the other; much better than paying 300 at another hotel for a view of the side of a building. Would recommend this hotel to anyone willing to make the effort to find the hotel (take Kimberly rd.)!!

Even though the hotel is situated in the busiest section of Tsim Sha Tsui, it is located in a very smart spot where you are close enough to the popular bar street Knutsford Terrace and a huge shopping mall. Comfortable hotel in heart of Tsim Sha Tsui”

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. The hotel is located right in the midst of Tsim Sha Tsui, so location is great. It’s off on a side street, so it’s a bit quieter. However, the hotel was doing some renovations on the exterior and there were loose ropes on the exterior. At night when the wind blew, the ropes banged against the hotel, causing loud noises throughout the night (waking us up a number of times). We slept with earplugs and it was still quite noisy. The hotel has a lounge on the 2nd floor. In the morning, they offer coffee, tea, juices, apples and pastries. Unfortunately, the hotel staff did not inform us of this when we checked in. We missed it our first morning. In the afternoon, they put out crackers and juice. Our room was otherwise comfortable. The bed was soft enough. We had a spacious bathroom with a separate shower. They also provided a variety of toiletries. We had great views from our room, including the harbor and much of the skyline. We would stay here again, as long as the exterior construction was finished.

Great value, great location”

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times previously, the rooms are extremely good value for money, as it is a known fact that the vast majority of hotels in HK are far from spacious. The rooms are all new, clear, well maintained and the location is perfect as it is up the hill from the "K4" free airport express bus that runs nearly every 15 minutes to Kowloon Station or Elements as many people know it. A huge amount of cafes and nightlife, with no shortage of cheap and expensive brand shopping close to the vicinity, as well as ample taxis and a 10/12minute walk to the "Tsim Sha Tsui" MTR station - highly recommended. They are limited with facilities, but the staff are friendly and responsive - this will be my 6th time staying at this hotel, this are consistent and would recommend to anyone staying on a budget or with limited timing on their hands.

Center of everything yet far enough for R&R”

Good location, affordable and quiet

The hotel is located in TST making it very close to the city's major shopping centers and the ferry port. Though the incline to get to it would be tiring, its location near observatory road makes it a very nice place to stay. The hotel is within walking distance to numerous foreign restaurants as well as high class local eateries and some bars and pubs. The hotel staff were very accommodating and very efficient. The room was not too big but it wasn't too small to be cramped. The hotel has a breath-taking view of the Hong Kong Island skyline but it looks better at night. It does not have, in my opinion, any downsides and I definitely want to stay there again when we go back to Hong Kong.
