Ok for one night”
First they gave me a wrong room. This one was really smelly. My booked seaview room was ok. The rooftop teracce was nice for a sunset drink. + Nice view from the terrace 0 Breakfast ok, but for that price you could expect a little more western breakfast style - Room next to the elevator is very noisy, woke up several times the night from the "bing" when the elevator arrived

No Backup Power”
Sorong has power problems and the genset for this hotel is not working. Hotel was ill prepared for power outage. Their genset either does not exist or is broken. No emergency lighting. We moved hotels to Swissbel.

Highly recommended”
Our trip in Sorong is about 3 weeks and we lived this hotel nearly a week. Comparing with other local hotel we lived, this one is said to be the best hotel in Sorong downtown. Though Mr Henry is the Duty Manager of this hotel, he performs so hard that he often attends at the Reception Counter to face to those customers who need assistance. It is no exception to us. We are by far unknown to any Indonesian language. One of many instances is that he played as an interpreter role while we made deals with local people. His overall working attitude towards customers is quite oriented that he works from heart. Under his strong leadership and close supervision, staff in reception and lobby such as Ms Sisca and Ms Ai also show sympathetic attitude and give aids to those customers needed. Management of hotel may stick to the hard-and-fast rules, but he runs smoothly as he handles cases in a flexible way. Room facilities are all in good condition, but it lacks twin beds in standard room with no window. Deluxe room are great! If you stay there longer, you can try to ask Herny Manager upgrade your room type.

OK, but I wouldn't stay there again”
The front desk staff and breakfast staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. I requested a non-smoking room, but my room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and had no windows. The aircon helped to clear it up somewhat. The decor was nice, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. There was a party with a band or DJ directly below me, making it difficult to sleep. The buffet breakfast was sufficient. The typical Indonesian food was very good. The fruit was disappointingly unripe.

Nice staff at front desk, location on the hill is nice, ending the day at the roof top bar is really nice also. Room was clean, and was quiet place in evenings also - good for sleep.

Pretty much only game in town”
We were on our way for a diving trip, stay at this hotel for two nights. It is on a hilltop, so the view from the rooftop restaurant is great. The staff were friendly and very helpful for everything, but the room was not clean. The bathroom was really smelly, the unpleasant odor was coming out of the drain, I am not sure the rooms at higher levels are better. Our room was at the 2nd floor, and the smell was constant. I dropped my earring on the floor and it rolled under the bed, unfortunately I had to see all the garbage and dust under the bed. The toilet seat was stained with something. It is a very remote area, there are not many options available in town. Yet for the money it charges, I believe they can maintain the facility a bit better than they do now....

Good hotel, poorly managed”
Waited for an hour before being given a room upon check in; staff thought I stayed only 1 night while I had booked for 2, so on 2nd day had to ask for another breakfast etc etc etc. On departure day staff harassed me, while I had told them would check out at 10:30 they started to ring the bell at 7:30 and woke me up even entering room (!), "what time mister checks out?", then again 1 hour later (had to keep them out unpolitely), then chief of staff chased me again at breakfast... Unbelievable, probably they thought I wouldn't pay the resto bill? Pity because the hotel & rooftop terrace are quite pleasant, even if always very busy

Dirty, don’t bother getting ocean view!!”
Stayed here twice for transit to and from raja ampat. We booked the deluxe ocean for both stay. My advice - Don’t even bother getting the ocean view, it is not like the picture at all. It is basically a parking lot, lots of locals’ rooftops, and then the ocean (with lots of transit boats docked). Pros: - Lots of movie channels so you won’t get bored (there’s nothing to do in sorong, it is just a transit town). - The port is just 10 mins away. Cons: - Dirty bathroom with cigarettes smell (we booked the non-smoking room). - Stained towels and bed sheets. - Food was mediocre. - Dim and shady-looking hallway at night. - We could hear the noise from the streets loud and clear. - We booked exact same room (deluxe ocean view) for both stay, but somehow on our second stay the room was smaller. - No hair dryer. In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend you to stay overnight in Sorong unless it’s absolutely necessary. It would be much better if you could arrange a direct transfer from the airport to raja ampat on the same day.

Great place to recuperate after long week of divin”
We enjoyed the time here as after spending a week in a homestay on Raja Ampat, this was a luxurious break. They offered a complimentary ride to the airport the next morning too so was very good.

Front desk staff were very good, everything you needed in the room. Only downside was the service in restaurant. They forgot my drink and part of my order, but the food was delicious that we got so I was happy overall

The staff should improve English”
only few staff can speak English (around 80% staff cannot speak English even a simple word) I think the hotel should provide training for their staff. And air con in room is not working very well & they don't turn on air con at lobby...

Old hotel, basic English spoken”
Booked 1 night superior hotel room with airport pickup. None showed at the airport and the person at the front desk wouldn't speak any English at all. The reservation page doesn't clearly show that the room IS WITHOUT WINDOW (you really have to look for the description). In summary, I had need to pay extra $15 for a room with a window, extra IDR100,000 for airport pick up. Breakfast is very local and not exciting at all. Ok for 1 night But I was glad to leave.

Thought it would be one of the best hotel to stay in the location, a pretty disappointment. Front desk staff could not find the booking which delayed my checkin. Lifts breakdown. And the rooms are pretty small, Lots of stains at the toilet area. Probably its good to avoid next time.
