Delightful & Cozy”
There was something very comfortable and cozy about this hotel! Also, The National was a delightful place to finish off the night. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative was that they advertise a pillow menu based on work with a sleep specialist, but these were highly disappointing and in fact the opposite of something special! The regular pillow was just fine, and we slept comfortably. I would enjoy staying at this hotel again.

Great 1st stay at this wonderful place!”
Fancy old hotel in an ideal location and close to the Subway (6). Selected this place because the were running a special. Was pleasantly surprised to have my accommodations bumped-up to a suite with a balcony on the 18th floor. Very quiet and luxurious. Will definitely stay there again on my next visit.

Exceptional”
I had never stayed there before, booked it and then heard many good things about the hotel from friends here in Houston, Texas. I like the European Hotel feel and loved the restaurant......to have that in the building was a big plus. I never eat in Hotel Restaurants but this was an exception and I ate there several times.

My room was excellent but I do not tolerate feather bedding. Grace, the housekeeper, replaced my bedding and received my allergy symptoms. Thanks for your help>

Faded rose”
I would gladly stay at the Benjamin again. The only issue I have is that the hotel needs a little love. The furnishings in the lobby and the room need to be revamped. Buttons are missing from the Tufting on sofas . Torn fabrics, slow draining sinks, cracked marble flooring,. Everything is clean just worn. If it were not for this and that the windows that were used in the last reno are not sound proof, I would rate the hotel 5 star. Great staff. Is a little noisy due to windows.

Room is so big, but you will hear everything in the hallway and bathroom. Staff was lovely too. Housekeeping was the sweetest kindest woman

Very good”
Great location. Easy subway access. There was no ice machine accessible to guests, so we had to call the front desk every time we needed ice and wait approximately 30 minutes. Housekeeping services were below average. We stayed for six nights, and were only given one bar of soap the entire time. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, and it was not replaced until it was empty. In-room bottled water was pricey ($9 each). Bathroom was small.

Hotel Benjamin, New York”
On arrival we were surprised by the size of the room, as we had been told New York hotel rooms are very small. This was not the case at the Benjamin. The room was large, very nicely decorated, clean and in excellent condition. The staff were at all times polite, friendly and very helpful. The location is superb, easy walking to 5th Avenue, the Rockerfeller centre, Times Sq, Grand Central, Chrysler Building, and the subway is just over the road. Plenty of good restaurants within 5 minutes walk. We will be returning to New York next year, and will not be looking at other hotels

Wonderful Hotel Great Staff”
We had a wonderful stay at The Benjamin. From start to finish everything was impeccable. It was very busy in the area with the U.N. in session and President Obama attending but The Benjamin and their staff made any inconveniences hardly noticeable. The staff were all very cordial and helpful from our greeting at the door, to our bellman, the front desk and also the concierge. We have stayed here before and love the new updated design of the rooms. It makes the rooms feel larger and brighter. We also love the comfort of the bed and duvet. And thank you to The Benjamin for the extra touch waiting for us in our room upon arrival...it made my wife's birthday and our anniversary very special. We will be back soon.

Sweet boutique hotel in fabulous location ”
although we got off to a somewhat rocky start (room not available until after 18:00 on the day of check in) the cozy atmosphere, excellent location, right at the corner of 50th and lexington, and friendly and accommodating staff - with exceptional service from cora at the front desk and concierges sarah and gina - made the benjamin the perfect choice for a wonderful holiday stay. we will definitely make the benjamin our hotel of choice for our next visit to new york!

Nice quiet room in mid-town Manhattan”
It’s hard to find a quiet hotel room in Midtown but 17th fl of Benjamin was perfect. Great location to walk to UN, Rockefeller Xmas tree, and Bryant Park Xmas market. Bed was super comfortable. We’ll be back.

Great place tp sleep!”
We really had a splendid time in this hotel. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the staff were all very polite and helpful. The rooms are nice and quiet for New York and the location is good. Great proximity to everything. Lots of shopping areas are within walking distance. We would definitely stay here next time we're in New York!

Great hotel, great staff, made holiday better for staying here”
Our stay here was really lovely, my husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and not only were we very kindly upgraded to a one bedroom suite, we also had a welcome gift, and on our anniversary we had some chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine sent to our room. Thank you to Tom (claws) on concierge for making our trip even more wonderful, your thoughtfulness made us feel like guests rather than people just staying in a room, the whole hotel is so very welcoming. The room was super great, very, very spacious as we now had a separate living room however the type of hotel this is all the rooms have everything you need, Elmsis toiletries, a nice size bathroom with space to put everything and good quality towels, flannels. Bed very comfortable, a pillow menu if you need one, very clean, warm but not to warm as you can adjust the temperature. Never queued for the lift, every member of staff was so helpful. Location is perfect for walking, park and metro.

Little disappointing ”
The hotel is okay, I expected more from the photos. The lobby was small and we felt a bit deflated when we arrived. We went for my husbands 50th. We had booked a suite (which was okay not amazing) but unfortunately unlike other people reviewing we didn’t get an upgrade. I can’t complain about the service, apart from one day our room wasn’t cleaned and we had to ask remind reception. Overall it was okay. I wouldn’t go back. It wasn’t awful but I think there are better hotels in New York for that money. Shame !

Hospitable, really!”
The hotel is in walking distance from Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue. Very upscale environment. Service is great not too bad for Manhattan. However, breakfast costs extra and $14 for internet per day per computer is a ripoff. Then again, the nearest McDonalds (at 3rd street) is a 2 minute walk away, and you get internet there for free, no purchase required. This is true for all McDonalds in the US, by the way. All in all, I enjoyed staying there. The only major downside was that the rooms are too warm due to central heating that can't be turned off, so you end up running the noisy air conditioning or sleep with the windows open, which is noisy too. Perhaps they'll fix that - I sure complained about it.
