A good value for money”

But the toilets can be small. For ladies, the shower upstairs is broken so only one shower and 2 toilets can be used. Otherwise have to go to parking-level washroom which is downstairs. The most critical thing here is that the walls are thin. Every creak and chats can be heard clearly from inside your room so I didn't have a good sleep until everyone is asleep. Otherwise, I'm happy with the stay

Way too expensive for backpackers with shared bathrooms. But then places in Queenstown probably are in general. The prices are double those found elsewhere in NZ. If you don't mind that, the location is OK. Next time, we will probably stay somewhere else though.

Pleasant stay (twin room)”

As two people staying in a private room (shared bathroom), we had a nice stay for one night. The room itself was fine: clean but nothing special. The shared bathroom and kitchen were good, although don't expect sharp knives to cook with. The outdoor seating area is a nice place to relax and hang out. The staff were super friendly. They have a big collection of DVDs that you can borrow. :)

Acceptable”

The place is fine (decent price for facilities and location) until you have a problem. When I booked there was no indication that the kitchen was being renovated (I even checked after I arrived to make sure I didn't accidently miss this information). They had a temporary kitchen which consisted of two microwaves (one of which wasn't working), a kettle, a few fridges and a toaster. No sink, no cooktop. It was pretty dirty since it was in a tent outdoors and you had to leave your dirty dishes in a pile in the kitchen. My issue isn't the fact that they were renovating their kitchen, more that they didn't bother to inform their customers during the booking stage. When I asked reception about it, they 'apologised' that I wasn't happy about it. When I asked them to recheck their information online and ensure that others wouldn't have the same problem, they dismissed me. Definitely won't be coming back. There are plenty of better places around Queenstown at the same price point.

Cramped accommodation and terrible bathroom facilities”

First impressions were not great at check-in. The staff were hurried and processed people through with as little effort as possible. They seemed to be more concerned with cashing up than wecolming guests. Reception was unmanned after 7pm, which seemed crazy for such a busy hostel. Bunk beds were crammed in and very squeaky so turning over was a noisy act. The ladies shower room was always wet as the basin unit was split and the taps weren’t secure. Queenstown is very popular so this hostel doesn’t have to try hard to stay full.

Good but better options available ”

Stayed one night as our first choice that we had been to before wasn’t available. It was fine but I wouldn’t go back with other options that are available. Bit of a strange set up where you have to go outside to get to the lounge area, kitchen and bathrooms.... fine on a good day but not so great in the rain. You also need to remember your key to open the bathroom doors. Lounge area seemed to have garden chairs? Weird. I say on one and it creaked a bit too much to trust it.... I sat on the floor haha Things were clean and well equipped kitchen.

Good hostel but let downs”

Really good facilities and lots of potential. I emailed two days before to double check that they had a dry room for boarding equipment and it was confirmed. when we arrived we asked if we could put our stuff in there and were told that the dry room is under construction. We were told that since we had a private room we should just keep it in there - no way, we decided to leave it in the laundry room as our room was tiny and we dont went wet board and boots in there. It was also opening weekend, you can't close the dry room. Also, far too many long term guests. It made for a pretty uncomfortable atmosphere. Place has potential though. Get a cabin if you wany to sleep, w heard the private rooms in the main building ate unbearly load when people come home at 4am.

Hostel was clean and comfortable. Some of staff was friendly, others not as friendly. Wifi was high-speed and reliable. The location is good. Only positive to staying here. The toilets/showers were pitiful... They were not even a foot across from each other in a ten foot room. If someone was showering the entire room was filled with steam so much so you couldn't see anything. The staff makes you fill out lots of personal travel info when checking in including your email that they then use to blast spam emails to you even after you unsubscribe. To get your room key after checking in you have to go to the tour desk where they try to shove $400 tours down your throat before giving you your keys. Room was decent but very loud. Not enough bathrooms and showers for amount of people staying there.
