oasis for people who appreciate peace & quiet”

Friendly staff and Resort Manager, large pool, peaceful

Blue Sky Ranong Resort is a remarkable oasis for people who appreciate peace & quiet. The resort grounds and pool area are outstanding. The resort was built only recently so everything is fresh and new. The beach is not for swimming but there is a large pool (20m) which is perfect for doing laps or just lazing around. The view from pool and restaurant across the water is Burma which is spectacular. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The restaurant food was a high quality and well priced. The resort Manager, Bee, was extremely friendly and helpful - she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. I would recommend Blue Sky Ranong to those travellers who want some time out in an ecofriendly and tranquil environment.

Relaxing Beautiful Quality Quiet Seeview Service ”

Seeview relaxing rooms, garden and restaurant

we booked for 1 night but we stayed finally 10 days in this beautiful resort. very clean and beautiful rooms with good bed and pillows. great shower! seeview almost everywhere. very romantic seeview rooms and suites. the restaurant is beautiful and the food is great. the staff is extremly polite, nice and qualifite although their english skills are not the best. i should not write this review because i want to keep this place secret for me and my family! the town ranong is at 10km so the only thing you really need when you go here is a car. ranong is a beautiful small town with nice markets and you can get everything.

    Beautiful secluded hotel”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Our room was directly over the water. Sipping wine on the balcony at sunset without a single other human being in our sight was a great experience indeed. Food in the restaurant is good, the pool is big and beautifully situated, and the staff are especially personable and hospitable. All of that being said, I wouldn't want to stay more than one night for there, for the same reasons everyone else mentions here; it's REALLY far from the town. Generally hotels in Thailand offer motorbikes for rent, but Blue Sky does not. The only option to town is a 700 baht "tour." I think they seriously need to address this issue if they want to get a higher overall rating. People appreciate convenience and flexibility.

    out standing sea view suite”

Out standing sea view suite. Outstanding young staff. Good on site food facilities. Just as well as this place is well well off the beaten way. Hard to find. Small sign on back road. Entry road is very rough dirt track for 1.5 km. Private owned and 8 years old. Small scale, only about 14 rooms on the lower area. More forest rooms on a much high up level way behind the lower gardens, reception, pool, and dining. Very large suite and well appointed. Right on the sea. Rocky beach and not so pretty at low water. We had only minor issues. While we had in room tea/coffee with kettle. There was no black coffee. Only mixed coffee (sugar and milk) so I had to go the 12 km into Ranong to buy black coffee at the nearest 7-11. And the kettle cord is not long enough to reach the power point so kettle had to be on the floor. Small issues and we would go back again.

    Beautiful location”

Blue Sky has a very beautiful location, the shore front (sea view) facillities are by far the best and well worth the money. Wouldn't recommend the facillities that are up the hill as the view isn't that great. The staff is excellent! Very helpful and caring for each guest. The kitchen and food service is also excellent. Great dishes, very modern. Not sure what was wrong with their swimming pool (located by the shore) but the water was light brown.

    Best in Ranong”

Ranong isn’t set up for the tourist market but this is the best accommodation option we could find. Location is beside the water and very peaceful. Don’t expect beaches in this part of Thailand though, it’s more about the beautiful scenery. Staff were very attentive and professional. The garden view rooms are small and not in a nice location, but much cheaper than the ocean view rooms. You can still enjoy the ocean front area though as they have their own jetty near the pool and you can stroll through the lovely gardens. I wouldn’t recommend swimming in the pool, it’s murky and the water isn’t properly filtered. The road into the property is awful and needs to be made smooth, we have a 4WD but it would chew up the tyres on a regular car.

The beach front rooms with Burma at your doorstep

We had heard many things about Ranong of which no one had anything all that great to say but what we found were some awesome hot springs and a really cute town void of the normal "farrang" influence. The blue sky resort was also a really great get away however the restaurant is seriously lacking in culinary skills and make sure you take the beach front rooms.

    Really very good!”

    Location, beautifully maintained, lovely pool.

When I first read the reviews for this hotel, I was put off, but we decided to go anyway, I'm glad we did. It's very pretty, and exquisitely maintained. The staff were friendly and polite, and the food was good. The road going out there is not nearly as bad as some reviewers would have you think. However, it is out of the way, and I'm not sure how one would get there without a car. My GPS got us lost, and we had to ask the way a few times. The forest rooms are a climb up the hill, and with an elderly mother that was not feasible, but the sea view villas are great, and adequately appointed.

    views, room, pool

We initially booked a forest view room but this was a considerable distance & up a steep hill from the reception/dining area which were unhappy with. Thanks to the staff we were fortunate enough to be able to upgrade to a sea view suite which provided a wonderful view of the sea & Myanmar. My only complaint of this resort would be the road into the resort, only gravel & full of potholes & the distance from Ranong

The resort was right on the delta between Thailand & Myanmar. Amazing view from the sea view rooms & the infinity pool.We booked only 1 night but had to extended our stay to 2 nights as we really loved the place so much. We originally booked a forest room but the staff offered us to upgrade to sea view as there were not many guests. The room was bright, clean, cozy & had a great view of the delta. Even if there were not many guests staying the staffs did try their best to accommodate us. Will definitely try to return again!

A bit remote but nice view from pool and sea view rooms”

It's situated on the side of a hill a midst hevea (rubber) trees, so expect a good -short- climb to go back to your room if you don't take the sea view! We're glad we got it on special rate! We arrived just before 8pm at the hotel (they had picked us up from the airport), but while we were checking in they were kind enough to ask us if we wanted dinner as the kitchen was nearing closing time and took our orders straight away. It was nice as otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get dinner that night neither at the hotel nor outside as there isn't anything close by! The forest view room was clean, but there was a very strong smell of air freshener as there was one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom which was a bit disturbing. It was simply furnished and decorated but in good condition. There was free bottled water in the room. I would have appreciated to have mosquito nets on the windows -at least the bathroom- in order to be able to leave them open as I was there in January and could have done without airco if I had been able to leave some windows open. There is a small balcony with sitting area looking over the forest. Breakfast was served at the table, simple and tasty. The restaurant which is together with the reception have a nice view over the pool and then down onto the sea. It's peaceful and relaxing and there are even a few brass statues decorating the garden! The pool area is nicely done too... The staff we encountered spoke basic English (they're ok with standard stuff) and we were lucky to get help from a Thai customer to help us when we tried to get them to book a taxi that would take us sightseeing the whole day and eventually drop us at the airport. The staff were friendly and eager to help, but there was the language barrier...eventually when they understood, they organised it and it all worked fine and we enjoyed ourselves (especially the hot springs, spa and Thai massage!) :-) We only stayed overnight but it was very convenient for us

The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and service is great. Really enjoyed the sunset cocktails and delicious breakfast in the morning.
