Excellent Hostel! Great Location! Helpful Staff!”
I had an awesome experience stayed in The Bohemian Chic Hostel, would recommend it to anyone who will consider stay in a hostel. Staff were very helpful and provide guides to local food and attractions. I was lucky enough to have a free upgrade to one of the capsule rooms and everything were just perfect! Located in heart of Chinatown, many local shops and currency exchange. The sheets were very clean and found no faults although I consider myself as a picky person. Would definitely stay the next time around! Please keep up with the good work =)!
Free breakfast, friendly and helpful staff (Desmond and John, sorry I can't remember the name of the lady), near the MRT, heart of Chinatown, felt really comfortable! My bed was upgraded to capsule, had the best 6 days of Singapore, will definitely come back to Bohemian Chic! Highly recommended!
a chic place to enjoy...”
This review is actually for Chic Capsule Otel. I originally booked a 4-bed female dorm at Bohemian Chic but when I checked the confirmation sent by Agoda I was placed at 4-bed mixed dorm. Then I saw first the Chic Otel while I was looking for the Bohemian Chic. The Chic Otel staff asked me if I booked 4-bed mixed dorm and I told him I actually booked 4-bed female dorm. To cut it short, my booking was upgraded to female capsule. I had a pleasant stay at Chic Otel. Staff are friendly. The hostel is clean and cozy. I will stay here again.
This should probably be a review Chic Capsule Hotel review because Bohemian Chic Hostel was full so they upgraded me to Chic across the way. Loved the capsule rooms! You get your own privacy door, beats headphones, smart tv, towel and water. The bathrooms are superb and luxurious. They have free breakfast for guest in the morning and the hotel is one block from the subway! Amazing
Definitely worth the stay.”
Safe and comfortable for a solo female travel. I stayed in all girls capsule and I absolutely loved it. The capsule is Spacey and I loved the idea of privacy. The staff Lenni & Khalid was awesome, they made me feel at home. The location is also very convenient, very close to the Mrt and the many famous attractions. Also they provide tickets just a little cheaper for those attractions. There is hawker centres, restaurant and food shops nearby. Being a bit shy Khalid helped me to meet some of the person's staying in the Capsule which was really nice. I'd definitely go back to Singapore as it's a very amazing place and I'd definitely stay at the chic capsule again (part of the bohemian).
The best hostel I've stayed”
I stayed in China town (Bohemian Chic Hostel) 2 days, Clarke quay (The Port by Quarters Hostel) 4 days, Little India (Vintage Inn) 3 days and Kallang (Meadows Hostel) 2 days. All these hostels have review score more than 8, but this one is definitely the best hostel compare with others. The hostel owner is nice, funny and enthusiastic. Nice welcome drink and delicious breakfast. The decoration of the hostel is artistic, and the service of the hostel is excellent! The hostel provides free towel, Internet TV, headset, etc. Overall, it was worth the money!!!
Excellent Hospitality Make Me Happy ^^ ”
I had never stayed in hostel before: never dared to stay. However, since many people have recommended that the hostel experience in Singapore is worth a try. So, I researched through lots of reviews from many websites. Before choosing this hostel, I had actually made my own comparison chart for many other hostels in Singapore in many aspects. The main reasons I choose this hostel is the location: it is located in the heart of China Town; very close to MRT Station (exit A). At the check in, I got a complimentary upgrade to Chic capsule hotel nearby. The hostel staff were very helpful and friendly. There was always someone at the front desk 24 hours. The hostel provided free towel and blanket service, including headphones connecting to Internet TV monitor in each pod. Also, in the morning, there will be drinks and sandwiches for breakfast which were actually tasteful. The WIFI signal in the hostel might temporary down at peak time but for over only 5-10 minutes, not often. Most of all, the hotel staff team are the BEST!!! They work as best as they could to make customers happy. Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience from staying in this hostel. HIGHLY RECOMMENED!!! PS. I am always busy and usually NOT spending any time on writing any reviews for any hotels I stayed; even it's a Five Star one but for this one, I feel like it's a must to do so. The hospitality I received was way far beyond my expectation.
Great hostel, good for socialising, superb location”
I was here for two weeks. Slept in a capsule pod in a big room. I had no trouble sleeping, although the lockers made an annoying sound when opened in the morning. The staff regularly refresh the bedding, and towels upon request. Good air-conditioning in the dorms to combat the Singapore weather. The location is perfect, smack bang middle of Chinatown with multiple food streets in the neighborhood, club street next door, 10mins from Clarke quay and 3 from the MRT station. Try grabbing a free scooter from the hostel or rent an electric one around the city for a fun way to get around! The showers in the dorm were a combo between toilets and showers, but I always used the separate toilets/showers downstairs. The beds are a little small, if you're over 180cms tall ask for one of the bigger capsules at the booking or front desk. The common room was regularly populated in the mornings and evenings, I met so many awesome people in my two weeks! Tldr; recommend the hostel very much!
Super helpful staff and great location”
We booked in this hostel but for some reason, the staff took us to the Chic Hostel, a sister company, just accross the street and were given a private pod with a smart TV. Bedrooom was dimmed and quiet which was nice. Can change towels every day. Breakfast includes cereals, sandwich, fruits and coffee/tea. Limited toilet/bath when compared to the number of beds in the hostel. Desmond was so helpful and dedicated to his job that we wonder if even takes his rest. Location was close to the Chinatown Station which makes the whole Singapore accessible. Hostel was surrounded with restaurants and the Food street and Maxwell Hawker center in Chinatown was close by. You won't go hungry. Over all, a very pleasant stay. Would go back if given a chance and would definitely recommend.
Great for travellers on tight budget”
Me and my mother arrived there late and the staff(Tesmond, I'm not sure if I got it right) who attended our needs was very friendly and accommodating. Our accommodation was also upgraded from dorm type to capsule free of charge. We find the capsule type very cool coz each capsule is equipped with wifi TV(super fast) and locker. It is near MRT station, Chinatown, temples and Marina Bay Area(walking distance). It is new hotel and so are the facilities. There are plenty of breakfast to choose from basically cereals, sandwich, fruits. And the bathrooms are clean however, I don't like the concept of sharing. I would definitely recommend this to my friends especially those who are in tight budget. Accommodation in Singapore is very costly so finding a great place to stay at low cost is a plus.
"I stayed 03 weeks there its the best ! Just get In Guys.”
So this is coming from a tourist who stayed 03 weeks in Singapore and in this hostel. Chinatown is the best location and staff of the hotel specially Girlie, Stefahn , Davon & Chinie ( Chinese lady ) they just made me feel like home. Hostel is spotless clean, fridge, Xbox gaming, Delicious Breakfast and tge best open lounge to be jolly. Thats there even password letsbejolly !! I loved the place stayed 21 nights and wiahed I could have stayed Longer. Miss you guys. Keep the good worm going and they deserve some appreciation if the owner is reading. Cheers Ali London.
Don't get your hopes too high, and you'll love it”
Overall I'd say my week's stay at The Bohemian Chic Hostel was well worth the price. The location is great, just 5-mins from the Chinatown MRT station, it's also close to multiple attractions and local food centres. The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially David, who helped me get around the block for my first couple of days before I embarked on the day's adventures. There is still much room for improvement though. and the 9.0 on Agoda is probably overrated. For example, there is no place to hang/line-dry clothing except to droop it from upper to lower bunk, you have to buy drinking water unless you're comfortable with tap water (which is what locals do, but I'd rather not), and the locker is a drawer no bigger than an average airline carry-on baggage, which is never enough for the things brought and bought. In my opinion, I'd give it 7.8/10.
best hostel i ever stayed... so far...”
love love love this hostel. i stayed only for a night (which is too bad). should have stayed longer. love the interior for the reception area. its so chill out. they serve really impressive breakfast too. usually most hostel would just go with toast and stuff. but they actually go the extra mile to serve not only toasts but cereals as well. i stayed in the capsule bunks (just pay a little extra more for better luxury). comes with a tv. i did think to myself "why do i need a tv when im holidaying?". but upon checking in, i saw laid out in front of me on the bed was a beats headphone. each capsule has one. now and they have such a wide selection of awesome movies too. and they are pretty up to date. i went back to the hostel at 11pm and just relax and watched movies. i barely even touch my phone to check my instagram and facebook (which i usually do during my holidays before i sleep). feels just like home (if you're a movie goer like me). location was awesome too. train station is just right opposite. you can never miss. along the block of this hostel, there are some pubs and bars (so if you dont want to kick off your shoes in the hostel and watch movies like i did, you can hang around in these bars). if im not mistaken, there are some restaurants nearby as well. this trip to singapore i didnt stay long so i didnt really have the time to venture whats around this area. but if given the choice, i would stay here again if i have another trip to singapore. to summarize, if im an octopus and octopus has fingers, i will give all 6 thumbs up.
The hostel is pretty great, the staff is quite helpful, the common area has loads of sockets and nice couches, the sleeping pods/capsules are quite spacious and feel far more private than I would have thought. Also, it's in the heart of Chinatown which is pretty great as a base in Singapore. I'd definitely stay again. The only minor thing to note. The hot water feeds from a small tank above the shower. If you don't shower fast enough, you'll run out of hot water, so don't idle like I do under the shower.
Great Stay in SG”
I love the location as well as the bed! It is so comfortable and bigger than other capsule hotel. We supposed to stay in The Bohemian bit luckily Chic is a sister company of it and definitely it was also a great one! Breakfast and staff are very commendable. Highly recommended! Thank you!
Not social, but good location and wifi”
Not a social place, but that might be common in Singapore, with people just passing through for a night or two. I booked an 8 bed dorm, but got upgraded to the pods. They have good privacy, but you can easily hear everything the 20 or so other people do. Two small unisex stalls with showers over top of the toilet was a bit uncomfortable. The floor was always wet. Might help if they put plastic mats down. Toilets downstairs have more privacy. No hot water, which can feel a bit chilly when you're in a room with cold air-con or coming in from the rain. The location is good, in Chinatown with temples, food markets, a metro station and souvenir shopping all around. Wifi is also good and fast, but the only place to sit is on a couch (no tables if you need to work). 3 pm check-in, and they're strict on that. You can leave your bags in reception until then. It was an okay stay, but I might try somewhere different next time.
We Love it so much! ”
We really love the place, our room and other facilities. It is very clean everywhere. We also love the staff there, Girlie and Stefan. I love how they deal with their guests, they are so friendly and accommodates you whatever you need. We talked much, especially Girlie, since she's also a Filipino and a Cebuana. If ever I will be back in Singapore soon, I will definitely stay here again. I made friends here and I know, whenever we meet again, we'll definitely have more time to make a chitchat. No regrets staying here.
We loved this place!”
we super loved our room which was located at Chic Capsule Otel. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly and the place is very clean. The place is very near to Chinatown MRT and walking distance to clarke quay. Will recommend this to my friends who want to visit Singapore!
Nice place to stay”
Nice place to stay near Chinatown MRT. But we spent our first two nights (from total 3 nites booked via agoda) in their other hostel called The little Reddot as they explained to us the overbooking at Bohemian Chic. Anyhow, both are nice and clean.
When you book keep in mind they have two hostels - Bohemian and Chic. I thought I had booked at bohemian but they sent me to chic. The place was nice and it’s a good value but it really lacked the social atmosphere that I look for as a solo traveler. Maybe my experience would’ve been different in Bohemian!
