New, unique and modern hotel / loft apartments ”
We had a pleasant stay in Box House Hotel, located in the further north Green Point area in Brooklyn, a bit distance to the hip Williamsburg, but still you can take a bus ( a little walk to the bus station, or better , is to take the ferry , a quick and scenery journey to get to all places, Williamsburg or Manhattan island ). It has much larger space ( NY standard) than everywhere else, hence we booked it the first place, we had the loft with Terrance , although we didn't use the terrance much as it is facing the bridge across the road , you can see people passing, so not much view there. A complete apartment rather than hotel in my opinion as it requires self maintain the cleanness of the room, no daily room service. It does feel like a new funky home away from home, I could imagine living there if moved to New York. You can get food and water etc from nearby Deli / convenient store just turn to left corner on the street , or walk a few block to bigger stores , super market near India street. A few restaurants on the main street too.
Clean, World-Class Front Desk Service, Lovely Interior Decor”
This hotel gave us such an amazing New York experience. It is ideally situated on the edge of Brooklyn - there is a 10 minute walk to the nearest Subway station (the hotel also has a shuttle service so they can drop you off at the station). The hotel is also one station away from the island of Manhattan, so for us it felt very central. Housekeeping does an amazing job of cleaning the place, and the self-catering facilities are helpful when you're travelling on a budget. The hotel's interior design is so well executed - the style is eclectic and it's just beautiful. The front desk staff is friendly, warm, knowledgeable and so helpful. The Hotel also has an amazing reception space upstairs (with a beautiful view of Manhattan) that can be used for weddings. A special thank you to Felix and Sarah!
After staying in some very questionable hotels in Europe as soon as we walked in the door at The Box House we knew it was going to be a great stay. A beautifully presented boutique hotel with a spacious, spotlessly clean room with good amenities. The staff were very helpful and the free shuttle for the local area was great. Not far to the ferry berth that takes right to the heart of Manhattan. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, we loved it
Fantastic, quirky hotel!”
We loved our stay...friendly staff, good food and free shuttle to the nearest underground station so very easy to move between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Great base to explore New York!
Good to get out of Manhattan ”
Before I booked my trip to NYC, I read that I should try and book a 2 centre location, not just in Manhattan, so decided to try the Box House. So glad I did. Great value for money, great staff and nice size rooms with views over to Manhattan. Nice bars and restaurants just around the corner on Manhattan Ave and only 10 min from a couple of Subway stops. one with 2 stops to Grand Central, so always easy to get around. I will certainly look to stay here on my next visit to NYC.
My trip to NYC ”
We were impressed with the Box Hotel as soon as we walked in the lobby doors. Beautiful decorations and friendly front desk staff. There is a restaurant on site, there is free parking on the street. Once we entered our room, it too was equipped with a full kitchen, comfy bed and sofa bed. Lots of lighting and seating even while the sofa bed is in use. Enough mirrors, strong water pressure in the shower. Only thing is the location is about 15-20min walk to the nearest subway. But you can request a shuttle pickup and drop off in a 1 mile radius. Within two subway stops to 5th Avenue and times square. We enjoyed our stay.
A little qurky, but a great affordable place.”
Although the hotel seems in the middle of no where, it is really convenient to Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens places of interest. The rooms are large with a sitting room and full kitchen. The hotel offers no meal services, but there are some great restaurants within walking distance or a free Checker cab ride provided by the hotel. Free on-street parking is readily available - a huge plus in Brooklyn. An excellent value.
Modern and spotlessly clean”
From outside the hotel doesn't look much. It's in a former factory, with brick walls. The immediate location is unprepossessing, too - small factories and warehouses, and close to the Pulaski Bridge overpass. But it's actually a great place to stay. The rooms are very good - large with high ceilings and trendy decor, a comfortable bed, good bathroom and separate living area. The staff was also very helpful. And just a couple of blocks away from the hotel is the start of the Manhattan Ave shopping area, a predominantly Polish district, with good bakeries and a very good organic supermarket. Not many good restaurants in the vicinity but the hotel provides a handy guide. Getting to the 7 line for Manhattan involves a walk over the Pulaski bridge to the Vernon Avenue station or a walk down to the G line stop on Manhattan Ave and a transfer. Not good for anyone who doesn't like walking, but in most circumstances a great way to start the day. Worth noting that the room is not cleaned every day (also the bed not made every day), but this was no problem.
Wounded Warrior 2-K Classic”
Once again, an incredible stay at the Box House! Room was great as always, Staff was on-point and ready to make our stay A+ at all times. Can't wait till next time!
Beautiful rooms with good location”
I had a amazing week at the box house hotel! Great location, big and nice rooms!
Classy, friendly, great value for money”
It's a lovely walk over Pulaski bridge to get an easy subway into Manhattan. These guys have chaffeurs who will drop you there for free! The same hotel would be more than double the price in Manhattan. The neighborhood is vibey, there's a full gym and sauna at the hotel, our view was amazing of Chrysler building and Empire State. Staff are all real friendly. Can't wait to come again!
Comfortable Rooms ”
I've stayed at the Box House a number of times. The rooms are big and comfortable. Nice staff. Decent gym It's hard to say it's a "good location", I visit family in Greenpoint so for me it's great. But still it's pretty central and easy to get around NYC on the subway.
Boutique Hotel . ”
Great location for exploring Brooklyn.... which we did by bike (both tours and city bike rental) Bit of a walk to station but there is a free taxi shuttle which is brilliant. Loved our stay here.
Beautiful decor in public spaces including gym! Our room was gorgeous and so comfortable. Staff at Top of the Box were amazing as was the atmosphere. Would love to do another staycation there!
Fantastic Brooklyn alternative ”
A real welcoming surprise, made to feel special by the staff and very easy to get to Manhattten and see the sites of Brooklyn.
Good and nice , very convenient ”
Thank you The Box House
Heaps New York aye”
Awesome stay in a great hotel in Brooklyn area. Courtesy car for those who want it also!
Stayed here for one night recently when we visited our daughter who lives across the bridge in Queens. The staff was great - very helpful and accommodating. No complaints about the room either - we got a suite which was spacious and comfortable. I thought the price was a little steep, but you know that going in so it shouldn't be a surprise.
Great &Very convenient stay”
We love this hotel especially the self service laundry, free shuttle to nearby subway, spacious room, full equipped kitchenette and quiet area. What’s not to love?
A lovely hotel with some really interesting features. Staff were great, particularly Felix, and all were keen to help you enjoy the area. We had a duplex which I would recommend with kids. Easy to get into Manhattan but also lots of great streets to visit nearby in Greenpoint and Williamsburg.
