Peter from United Kingdom
Stayed 2 nights in October 2009
Overshadowed by a chilly reception.
I emailed the hotel on the Thursday asking if I could have dinner at 19:00 and onot the 17:30 stipulated. I also asked if I could work on the premises as I had been asked to complete some urgent work by the monday. When I left home at 09:0 on the Friday I had not recieved a reply. In fact I have not had any reply.
I arrived at 17:15 after a rather traumatic 9 hour journey having had to make two detours. It was obvious they had received my email because the receptionist quoted from it and said dinner was at 17:30 and anyway I was too late. I was told I could get dinner at a local pub. My reception was to say the least chilly. If I had not been so tied I would have walked out. As I went up stairs the receptionist came after me and said I suppose I could get you something, what would you like? I said forget it.
The manager the following day queried why I was dissatisfied with the reception I got. I said I had emailed them and had not received a reply. To which he said we don’t use email we use the telephone. (I am worse than profoundly deaf and as such I very rarely use telephones.)
At the time of arrival I was not made at all welcome.
