"A memorable stay."
December 12, 2017
This 1920’s building, formally the Christian Brothers stately residence, retains much of its original grandeur, offering guests a true heritage experience with modern comforts. Boasting enviable views of Dunedin, the European-style family-run, boutique hotel is centrally located up a hill from the city center. Guests can enjoy free unlimited WiFi and free parking. Extensive renovations to this former Christian Brothers stately residence has transformed it into elegant accommodations with 15 small bedrooms, each with a modern private bathroom. The Brothers Boutique Hotel offers guests accommodations with history and small rooms. The city center is only a 6-minute walk downhill. The Brothers Boutique Hotel
Quirky but nice”
Very different and it is better for the young / fit as it is on a hill as is most of Dunedin Drinks at 5pm a nice touch Owners very friendly and informative
it may be a little bit difficult to walk uphill for the hotel. However, the bedroom, living room and the setting of the whole house is very beautiful.
Such a lovely place conveniently located. The owner was such a nice guy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The owner has saved a gem of a building. Gorgeous views from the balcony and lounge. He is so in sharing the "not to miss" sights and opportunities. Rooms are small, after all religious brothers led a simple life, but the greeting, the 5pm wine soiree and nice breakfast (we so miss the Black Doris Plums!) balance any tight quarters. Parking is tight, and while close to the Octogon, as with all of Dunedin, the hills are steep.
Great hospitality. Th 5 o'clock glass of wine led to some very interesting conversations. Enthusiastic welcoming hosts. Rod and Shelley and Ali's hard work is evident in every aspect of the hotel. Traces of the Christian Brothers era form a background to the modern efficient design of the hotel. Rooms are small because of the original design of the building but access to the balconies and the stunning views over Dunedin more than make up for that. A memorable stay.
Truly boutique and value of money”
Have a great stayed for two nights, and the host is so friendly and helpful. Simple but nice breakfast served everyday.
Small but charming with helpful host”
We only stayed one night but enjoyed our stay, and made the most of our short time in Dundein thanks to a very helpful host. He gave us sightseeing and restaurant recommendations, as well as all the brochures/maps we needed, which worked out perfectly. Yes, as the website & the other reviewers say, the rooms are small. There is a nice lounge downstairs to spread out in and if you have a balcony, it is nice spending time out there too. The breakfast was fine, nothing remarkable but doesn’t make any claims to be. Nice view & good location.
Great boutique hotel in heart of Dunedin!”
Beautiful and comfortable hotel with memorable views and superior customer service!
