Cozy small city hotel”
If I remembered correctly this hotel only has 8 rooms, so it has a rather family feel to it - and it is more than a house than a hotel. Hotel itself is a townhouse right in the heart of the city - meaning about 5km to any swimmable beach; There are some decent swimming pools in Vung Tau, the close choice is Rex Hotel swimming pool (about 15 mins walking from Buffalo Inn) or further there is Imperial Hotel swimming pool (good for one day chilling, they still open for public guests). But people don't really go to Vung Tau for the beaches, it's rather a seaside place with fresh air, a quick getaway from bustling Saigon, but definitely not a holiday treat. We found that room number 5 on the third floor (no lift so ok with ones travelling light) is the most value for money; We tried the penthouse on the top floor, it is ok too. What we love about Buffaloes the most is the tranquility atmosphere, far away from the madding crowd etc. They do dim the light off early at night but just go ahead and wake them it wouldn't be an issue. Breakfast is really small and basic (one bread + some sort of fried eggs + instant coffee) but we always head to Cafe Bistro 99 next to Song Hong Hotel for a cuppa in the morning or for more food options, head to Pizza David. I mean, when you travel with not much expectations, it always turns out to be better and I feel like this is also the case with Buffalo Inn. Remember if you want the best value for your money request room number 5. :)
Very unique and quite hotel”
If you are looking for a hotel near the beach then this is not it. This is a very nice and unique boutique hotel. It is far from the beach and about 15 minutes walk to Vung Tau night market where you can find many good foods there. Hotel features s a small garden inside which offer a fresh atmosphere, very nice touch. Get the top floor and you will have a small garden for yourself.
nice room”
a nice hotel in vung tau. didn't expect such a big room with living room and even a sauna room. nice design that captures natural light in both public space and rooms. large size breakfast. most importantly, at a cheap price ! only for 5 people for a night !
Lovely little contemporary hotel”
This narrow, relatively low level hotel has a limited amount of rooms and a certain charm. The reception is a desk and in between that are some comfortable leather sofas. Slightly unusual for Vietnam, this has a homely charm that bode well for a comfortable weekend stay. Unfortunately though the Agoda booking had not been received (albeit that I had the verification), so slightly disappointed, what was nice was that the receptionist worked hard to find us alternative accommodation and was very apologetic. Consequently we enjoyed a tour of other hotel accommodation in this seaside town and what that highlighted was how nice our original choice was. Without doubt, when we go back we will be booking here (with more than a few hours notice)
Good hotel”
Great holiday with buffalo inn. The hotel so far from beach, near the centre. You can go to the beach by taxi or motorbike. Enjoy the trip to vung tau,
small hotel, big heart”
It was our second time to stay at Buffalo Inn. Hotel may be small, but we like the ambience and garden and pond within the hotel. Again simple breakfast, hotel and housekeeping staff were very obliging. Room always kept clean. Hey, we'll come back to stay there again.
good architectural design, creative interiors”
as i only had a short time in the hotel, there is nothing other that very peasant experiances, my first impression was the great care they had taken with the selection of bathroom fittings. all very modern, the creative designs of the garden rock gardens. we did have the complementary breakfast, which was far better than i have had in other 2 stars hotels, i also like the helpfull people there, i could have stayed there a lot longer and would have been happy, the distance to the beach seems a little bit to far for me, since i was knocked down by a motorbike a few days earlier, but don't worry there are plenty of good taxies, who know all the places to go to, we wined and dined elsewhere, but where happy to go for the drives and sight seeing as we did
Great B&B!”
Was a great stay! Simple & complete breakfast was served, juice, coffee, sunny sides & bacons with bread and a fruit! Recommended for families or couples! Would however recommend to potential travellers to head to Vung Tau on weekends only. I was there on a weekday and it island was so quiet.
Short but sweet”
The hotel was quaint, room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was value for money. Breakfast included Though simple, very refreshing served with a smile always. The Receptionist was very helpful. The hotel being in Vungtau, Vietnam (seaside town), it's very easy to get around by walking or rent a motorbike for USD10/-. per day. Will definitely come back to stay. Btw, don't forget to sit back and relax like a local, sip the local brew (coffee). I love coming back to this place. Life's a breeze.
Good large, clean, well furnished room.”
Didn't know what to expect so was very surprised by the reception and dining areas. Nice outdoor and indoor gardens with natural light filtering down from a glass room at third floor level. Several rooms look onto courtyard, but mine faced onto the street which was noisy during the day but fine at night. The room was well furnished and clean and the bathroom modern and spacious with a large overhead shower which was a real luxury. To wake up to a good breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast, but especially a "long black" coffee made an excellent start to the day. Definitely good value for the price and I would stay here again.
Lovely and unique hotel”
my second time staying and this hotel. if you are looking for a clean and quite place to stay, this is the place. this is a very unique hotel where every room is different. it is a bit far from the beach but that's how i like it. it is the best hotel in vung tau for the value.
Valued and quite hotel”
This was one of many stays at this hotel. I love this hotel in the past for its uniqueness and quite environment. However, this time left a bad taste in my mouth. First, they put me in a room that I hate due to no privacy since it is the room next to their small bar and if I opened the window I would see the front desk. They refused to change room even though I was the one one stay in this small boutique hotel. Room had a bad smell, the smell of old and humidity. Picture frames were left on table unorganized instead hanging on the wall. I will not return to this hotel after this experience.
Good location, friendly staff, good internet conne”
I took this room with breakfast, but that turned out to be two eggs, toast, and coffee with Orange juice every day. But still not bad, just no variety. Receptionist spoke excellent English, rest of staff has basic English. No elevator in this hotel. No problem for me as I had 1st floor room. "Garden view advertised turned out to be small fish pool not a "garden" But still, for the low room price I paid, this was a good value as it was scrupulously clean and service though basic was good and friendly. For most of my stay I was the only hotel guest.
Definitely not a good choice to stay”
I don't really like anything about this hotel. I didn't pick up any serious issue but there's no way I am going to recommend it to anyone unless they are on the last minute travel like I was. Overall the hotel is acceptable but the way it's run and managed is poor. My trip was decided right on the weekend and I really did not have many good choices since the hotels in Vung Tau are normally fully booked at weekend, especially during summer time since it's very close to the heart city, Saigon. I was charged and was getting almost nothing except the compulsory bed and a narrow room although they advertised the price was subject to 30% discount already. It's totally not worth it. When I arrived, the reception area was very dark, the receptionist was sitting there still, engaged with her something something, we were not welcome She was sitting there still like she was stick to the chair somehow while talking to me. We then got the room key without instructions how to the designated room. I have to ask and ask all da time to get answers to some basic hospitality matters like that. The room turned out okay but it was not worth the money because everything offered was just bed and bath. Whatever called garden was just a small corner of trees and the hotel location was just a city hotel, although we know we are going to Vung Tau for the beach and (maybe) the swimming pool. Also, the reception area was dark for most of the time, we were a bit scared when we got back the hotel at 11pm, no staffing there, lights out etc Then came the morning of the following day of our stay. I called the receptionist from my room and she told me breakfast choices were just eggs although they listed some more on the menu but she refused to offer because they had to go out and buy them to serve! We checked out in the same afternoon after having the poor breakfast. I plan not to come back nor introduce it to any of my friends.
Small room in the central area”
This is a small hotel. There is no lift. I had to take a luggage to my room by myself. My room was small with nice decoration, but the chair at a dressing table was swaying. There are a few restaurants nearby the hotel. The breakfast was simply, 2 fried eggs, 2 toasts and fresh orange juice. I think this hotel is overpriced. You could find the better hotel in Vung Tau at $50.
Lovely hotel”
I would come back here as the room is very clean and the hotel itself is very lovely with special design. Loved my stay in this hotel.
Great decor and clean hotel”
We booked suite room, however the room is not exactly as in the picture. The hotel is small, but the room is very clean and spacious. Hotel is a bit far from the beach about 1 km.
Quite hotel for the money”
Stayed here few months ago and was not very happy because of A/C were not working. This time I'm glad that this problem has been resolved. For those that need a quite hotel this is it. It is however far from the beach and that was the reason I stayed here. This hotel is more like a house so don't expect services that you normally get at a hotel. Overall, I'm very happy with this stay. Will be back. Thank you.
interesting weekend getaway”
The mini hotel have only 7 rooms with nice and clean decoration. We like it because it feel like home. We travelled by our own car so we do not need to stay near the beach. However it take only 5minutes to get to the beach.
Nice and lovely hotel”
Warm and clean room. Good place to stay with nice price. Lobby is beautiful.
