Great Value”
I traveled on low budget, great value for money, located half way between the bund and the central place, all of central Shanghai is acessible on foot. Also it is called the bund riverside it is NOT on the bund, but on the riverside of the small creek leading into the bund, the name is a misconception. The hotel is very clean, Wifi works as good as it works in china, (which is not very good, one of the major drawbacks traveling in china, but not a problem of the hotel but of the government) service is good and english is fair. I did not try the hotel kitchen as you can get decent food very cheap in local small foodstores (provided they have a menue with pictures or you can read chinese, let the hotel write "not spicy" on a note for you to show the chef if you go dining out). All in all I think this hotel is very good value for money.

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it a lot!”
The hotel is on Bejing road, which is paralell streat to Nanjing road (which is the main one in the Bund). It takes 5-8 minutes to reach Nanjing road. On the way to Nanjing Roud you can find small shops, which are open even late at night, when all bigger markets closes at 22 pm! The hotel is only 10 min away from most famous Cheap Market. The consierge helped to arange a taxi to get to the Pudong airport and it cost 300 yuan for 6 persons, which is cheaper then just to catch a taxi on the streat. Overall all of our 6 people group enjoyed our stay at Bund Riverside hotel. It is even popular between chinese people, because we have seen 2 Weding parties during those 4 days we've stayed at this hotel. 1 double room (digital city view) cost 57 eur per night. This is really good price having in mind that this is 4 star hotel in the center of the city.

Very satisfied, exceeded expectations”
we had originally booked a standard room for two nights. on arrival, we were upgraded to a superior large room. it was very comfortable. information from front desk is mixed. if you are seeking travel advice, make sure you are speaking to the english speaking concierge. they are very knowledgeable. he assisted us with our train tickets to hangzhou. the hotel was very accommodating in allowing us to leave our baggage at the hotel for two days whilst we took our trip to hangzhou and suzhou. on the baggage tag it actually states that you are able to leave you baggage for a maximum of 30 days. it was so convenient for us as we had been traveling for three weeks and acquired a lot of additional baggage along the way to carry. when we returned after the two day trip, the concierge who assisted us previously remembered our flight times and our intended activities, was genuinely helpful in making our stay as easy as possible. on our last night at the bund riverside hotel, we were upgraded to an executive suite which was truly amazing, it was the perfect end to our trip. we asked for a later check out and again they were so accommodating. i would truly recommend this hotel, for the service, for the location, for the surprised upgrades. oh and also if you are thinking of an acrobats/circus show, definitely go with the one that the hotel recommends, it is excellent. they help you organize the tickets with no extra charge. they write out on a card for you to give to the taxi driver, the hotel works really hard to please you.

Great Hotel, Very Clean, Helpful Friendly Staff.”
Philip the Concierge at Bund Riverside after seeing I was a solo Traveller looked after me especially well, he sent me to the Shanghai acrobatic show which was incredible and sent me to many of the sites by taxi, very cheap 14 - 20 RMB to anywhere in Shanghai. Most of the staff speak English and nothing is any trouble for them, very polite nice people. It is a great place to stay for shopping, eating and siteseeing, if you need a taxi they will organise it and explain to the cabbie where you want to go. It is surrounded by great street food and I never got sick once, got to try the dumplings and the BBQ crepes, exquisite!!!!! Hotel will supply you with maps and cards for taxi drivers so all you need to do is give the cabbie a card from the hotel and you go from sight to site, the cards are in english and chinese so everyone understands where you want to go. For a first timer in China The hotel made it very easy for me. Thank you to and all the staff. Stuart Dinan, Melbourne Victoria, Australia

Excellent location for exploring Shanghai”
when we arrived at the hotel we were upgraded to a very nice suite overlooking the river and all the highlights of shangai, the night time view was outstanding. the hotel is located very close to the major attractions, the main shopping street is only a 10 minute walk, the riverside is a 20 minute walk.having experienced problems with taxi drivers in beijing the hotel staff provided us with comprehensive details to hand to the taxi drivers in order to get us to our inteneded destination, be warned that not many people speak english. the hotel staff also arranged our river cruise at night which was a magnificent trip.the bund riverside is an excellent hotel and extremely good value for money, we would reccommend this hotel for anyone travelling to shanghai.

Overall is good”
It's recommended to live at when you are in Shanghai and I will be back again to that hotel for my next trip to Shanghai. I like the Bund Riverside Hotel as my room is facing Pearl Oriental Tower and the Huangpu river. I hope all of you will enjoy the same as mine. It is most recommended hotel as the price is reasonable and affordable.

Great Location”
The Bund Riverside Hotel is just a few blocks away from the East Nanjing Road Subway Station Lines 2 and 10. The area is conveniently located near the shopping district of Nanjing Road and is also close proximity to a lot of restaurants. The hotel is ideal for travelers who wants to explore Shanghai. Nanjing Road leads all the way to the Bund and People's Square on the other end. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those who do not mind walking a few blocks to have a more decent hotel.

Spectacular, 180-degree panoramic city view.”
We loved EVERYTHING about our stay at the Bund Riverside Hotel, except for one important caveat: there was no air-conditioning. We understand that in China on Oct. 21st, all air-conditioning is turned off, but we feel that at the very least the Bund Riverside Hotel could provide electric fans for those guests who request them. There were no fans available at all, though the room was warm and stuffy--even with the windows open. Other than that, we would advise all our friends visiting Shanghai to stay at the Bund Riverside Hotel.

The Bund Riverside Hotel rates well”
This was my second stay at the hotel within about two weeks. Both visits impressed. The staff spoke and understood English which always makes life easier in China. Their service was impeccable. Both times I had a late flight departure and they were more than happy to store my luggage until later in the day and to make taxi arrangements for me. The room was clean and well serviced. The only thing lacking was complimentary coffee - only tea was provided. Fortunately there was a handy cafe that I could wander down to in the morning for my initial "fix." The Internet charge was expensive at 1RMB a minute with a maximum of 100RMB each 24 hours, but I don't know how this compares with other hotels in Shanghai. The Bund Riverside is within easy walking of Nanjing Rd, the People's Square (and therefore, Shanghai Museum) and the Bund, so therefore easy access to lots of sights, shops, restaurants, bars and services. I would definitely recommend it.

Hotel for Three”
You will be welcome by a stair in the entrance. Gladly and very thankfully the staff is very prompt to help us with our luggage with a friendly and homey aura. We are assisted by the staff up to our room and give a brief definition of the room. The room is large for the three of us. We have enough space to accommodate out luggage and can still walk around the room. The cleanliness is above average. Be mindful of the mini bar though. We thought the bottled water are complimentary but there is a price list which we lately notice. You can get yours inside the bathroom. There is no AC, as explained they only have the heater. Though it is cold outside the comforter will make us warm and AC still necessity. The location is less than 10 minutes walk from the East Nanjing Station. We are able to explore 'The Bund', 'Nanjing Road' and 'Huangpu Theatre' by feet. Along the way to East Nanjing Station you can digest authentic Shanghai food and 'Family Mart' for your convenience.

Best location in Shanghai”
Booked 5D4N stay at Bund Riverside Hotel through Agoda and was upgraded to Riverview room on 11F (no-smoking floors on 10F,11F). Room had a view of the Suzhou Creek and an enormous construction site after it. The hotel was rated 4 stars, but there was no swimming pool or gym. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Room was quiet, no noise from road traffic, and although it was next to elevator lobby, it was well-insulated. It had 2 big wardrobe with motion-sensor lighting (nice feature!), electronic safe, small fridge, large LCD TV, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, kettle, 2 free bottles water every day, free internet through LAN cable (fast connection). Bed was hard (typical of China hotels), and carpet was stained. Fittings looked new - water tap, magnifying mirror, door handles were all shiny. Large bathroom had bathtub and shower, and soap and shampoo came out of a wall-mounted dispenser. Hotel was located on Beijing East Road, a long road of mainly hardware and electronics shops. Location was superb. Walking to the Henan Middle Road junction with Beijing Road, and going 1 block north would bring you to the Qipu Road Subway Station and 6-7 large malls selling clothes and shoes. Walking south 3 blocks from this junction would bring you to Nanjing East Road Subway Station and the start of the Pedestrian Street. From this subway station, the famous 580 Nanjing West Road fake market was only 2 stops to the west. The equally-famous Science & Technology Museum fake market was only 4 stops to the east. The Yu Yuan garden was only 1 stop to the south. The Bund could be reached by walking east, about 500 meters, from this station. There were many restaurants and shops on Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street. For simple shopping, there were conveniences stores and mini-marts on Ningpo Road, less than 100 meters from the hotel.

Good location and good service by efficient staff”
The rooms are clean and with a view. All the staff are very helpful and courteous at all times. Well located, walking distance to the shopping malls, Nanking Road, The Bund, MRT station and other places of interests. Will not hesistate to recommend the hotel to others and I will definitely stay at The Bund Riverside Hotel when I visit Shanghai again.

Convenient and Accomodating”
we stayed at the bund riverside hotel for one night. it was conveniently located close to the river walk of the bund and the shopping area of nanjing road. we traveled with friends, so we noticed that although we paid more for our room, theirs was much bigger. they also had a separate tub and shower, but we only had a shower. their room had both a city view and river view. our room was comfortable and clean except for the badly stained carpeting throughout. staff was very friendly and accomodating. they allowed us an early check-in (11:30 a.m.) as well as a quick room change because we preferred a non-smoking room.

pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, exciting bar”
Even though the specific location/street corner at which the Hotel is situated, does not look very shiny, the moment the Hotel is entered changes everything. Friendly staff opens the entrance door and assists with carrying the luggage, the staff at the counter performs the arrival operations friendly with professional skills, within a few minutes we opened the door to a spacious, well equipped and clean room with nice city view. The breakfast provides a reasonable choice of eastern and western food, fresh and well tasting. A visit in the Leningrad Bar of the Hotel added another highlight to our stay. The location of the Hotel is perfect for sightseeing and shopping in Shanghai: a 5-10 minute walk to the Bund opposite the Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Shopping Street as well as Metro Line No. 2

Decent small hotel, staff performance excellent”
Despite what some people commented about this hotel, I had a terrific experience. The hotel is somewhat located in a neighborhood-type environment, but the location is well within walking distance to the Bund. Cost from Shanghai-Pudong airport direct to the hotel was CNY165 by meter. Upon arrival at the hotel, staff met me at the taxi and took my bags to the desk. Check-in lady spoke decent English. Given a room on the high, executive floor (16th) offers great view of the city and Pearl Tower/Bund. Room spacious and comfortable. Clean bathroom. Free wifi in room as well as hotel lobby. Within 1 minute of entering my room a knock at the door - hot tea and fruit basket delivery which was welcome and unexpected. The free in-room wifi and hot tea may have been a feature of executive rooms only. Front desk staff helped with map and taxi directions in chinese. Helped arrange taxi to bring to desired destinations and finally airport (waited upon) for fixed price - very reasonable. Highly suggest this option if it's raining as its sometimes difficult to hail a taxi in the rain in Shanghai.

A room wth a view of the Shanghai's Pearl Tower!”
Will definitely stay in this hotel again when I next visit Shanghai and will definitely pay again for a river view room (not Huangpu river you get though as it's blocked by other tall buildings). During this stay I was given a room with a beautiful river/city view directly facing the Pearl Tower (can you imagine how fascinating at night when the Pearl Tower and the other skyscrapers are lighted up). I never once had the curtains drawn regardless whether it was day or night coz the view is simply enchanting. Personally I find it very convenient to get around Shanghai from the hotel as the hotel is pretty near to a metro train station and if you enjoy walking you can also conveniently walk down to the Huangpu river where the Bund is (the stretch of colonial buildings simply fascinate! Especially at night!). The staff is definitely efficient and civil but I won't say they are forthcoming or helpful with information (personally I think Shanghainese are in general not that helpful - this is just an opinion, not a complaint). As I did not dine at the hotel, I can't comment on the restaurants' food.

Comfortable stopover”
I had to stay in the city for a day due to a stopover. The room had a great city view and it was possible to see some of the buildings in Pudong. The WiFi signal was strong and I had an easy time browsing various web sites. I liked the use of marble in the bathroom. The hotel decoration reminded me of classic Shanghai in old photos. The Bund is about 5-10 minutes away on foot so the hotel is convenient for sightseeing. I thought the hotel was good for a stopover because it is close to line 2 subway which gives access to both airports.

Great location - value for money”
The rooms are clean. We had a king sized bedded room with river view and a twin bedded room with city view. The twin room was quite big but the king sized bedded one was very small, hardly any space left for our bags. However the location of the hotel is great - 5 mins walk to Metro station, 20 mins walk to The Bund, 10 mins walk to the Nanjing Dong Lu walking street and 10 mins to the Qipu Lu wholesale market. There aren't many eateries in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but there are 2 restaurants in the hotel - a Chinese Dimsum restaurant on 3rd level and a western restaurant on the 18th. During weekends these restaurants can be quite packed so reservations recommended. We enjoyed our stay with this hotel and will certainly come back when we visit Shanghai again!

Lovely Hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff.”
my wife and i booked the superior river view queen suite but on arrival were told we had been upgraded to the executive suite, the view from our room especially at night with all the light on the bund was amazing, our room was spacious and clean and had a very comfortable king size bed. cleaning service was good and the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bottles of drinking water. all the hotel staff were friendly and had a small but good knowledge and understanding of english. the only small fault we had was that we were unable to lower the aircon lower than 24 deg and the water temperature and pressure are a little too low. food in the hotel is a little over priced, breakfast will set you back 90 yuan, but the hotel is close to nanjing road and there are many restaurants on that road and also close to the hotel at very reasonable prices. i would definitely stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it.
